We should start charging people with treason again and executing these bastards. I’m 100% serious. The amount of treason that goes on in our government is unreal.  There are politicians and officials all over the government whose interests aren’t for the good of the country. I’d love to get rid of all the fraud and corruption. But not at the expense of the good stuff, and there’s a lot of good stuff. USAID in particular. As for the rest of your post there’s too much wrong with it, from my perspective, to go over it. I believe you have a very warped view of government and society in general.

And it’s just stupid. These are useful programs and they help everyone. Of course there’s some waste, of course there’s some corruption. But this is a mindless plan that makes things worse. 
 

And don’t bother talking to me about the debt because none of this cutting will have the slightest impact on the debt. It’s like saying “I know I owe you $50,000, but here’s 20 cents, that should help for now.” It’s ridiculous.

Even the tiny fraction of so-called good stuff is not what they say it is.   Go to the countries where all this 'good stuff' happened and they will tell you hardly none of that happened and when it did there were political strings attached.   I seriously do not believe more than 2 percent of funds went to 'good stuff'.   USAID was a corrupt organizations whose primary output was putting dollars into the pockets of rich globalists to spread influence and power and extort wealth..  Of course you love rich globalists so you are good with all that corruption. 

You seriously believe anyone from Forbes wrote the article you posted.  That was a well crafted response with lots of nuanced answers with inside information which put the most favorable spin possible on USAID side.  It is not an honest balanced piece of journalism.  It is a one-sided propaganda piece which is covering up the truth.

I would allow there are certainly some "bad schools" and "bad teachers".   I might suggest it has far more to do with the quality of the children; as an outcome of the quality of the parents.

If you are a decent person, you will have more favorable outcomes, if you are a sh!tty person....life is going to be a little more challenging.

I spent the first half of my career working in the private sector and the last half on government contracts. The cost for a government contract is easily 2-3x that of a similar private project. 

The problem as I see it is that the waste is so systematic that by the time you root it all out, the effort just won’t be worth it. It’s easier to scrap it and start over.
