Last year a Democrat passed a bill making it illegal to eat beaver, this year another Democrat is trying to reverse the ban.

So, Minnesota has given us Michelle Bachman, Tim Walz, Amy Klobuchar, and now a legislative discussion on the eating of beaver, but not just any beaver, specifically nuisance beaver.  Maybe instead of us trying to make Canada the 51st state we ought to be seeing about whether we can move Minnesota to Canada as their next province.  Hell, the Vikings are never going to win a Super Bowl, maybe they can win a Grey Cup.

I voted for Jesse Ventura. I'd do it again. He was an excellent governor and had a lot of great ideas that he could never push through as an independent. I met him a couple of times, he seemed very genuine. He would have been a much better and more trustworthy disruptor than our current "leader." 

Funny you mention Al Franken, since he was ousted over a "joke" photo by his own party, as opposed to certain others for whom their party rolled over when actual criminality came to light.

Its the curse of the Humperdome.  When Bud Grant prowled the sidelinesof the old Met wearing only a Polo shirt during December games and the Purple People Eaters lined up with bloodcycles from their faces and knuckles, they were awesome.  When the Vikes turned their backs on that and went inside the Humperdome they settled their fate.  To bad too.  I mean the Bears have a Lombardi for Christ's sakes. How the Vikings do not can only be explained by a curse.

 Both of those WS were fantastic. I loved that 91 team. Hrbek and Puckett and crew, Jack Morris. And my man Mike Pagliarulo, one of my all time favorite Yankees. Tom Kelly was a great, great manager.

I believe we are up to a combined 130 seasons of not having one of our big 4 in a Championship game/series. 

 

The Twins have been mediocre at best, mostly horrible (because of the Pohlads) over the past 30 years.  2002 was the last time in the ALCS

The Timberwolves have been downright horrendous, except for last year and the one year with KG/Sprewell/Cassel when they made the WCF

The Wild have been in the WCF once (20 years ago), the North Stars were last in the Stanley Cup Finals back in 1991

 

 

The Vikings have had the most chances, but always fock it up.  0-6 in Conference Championships since last being in the Super Bowl.  Epic losses too:

1977 - Loss to the Cowboys;  bob Lee had to play QB for an injured Tarkenton

1987 - Loss to the Redskins; Darrin Nelson fumbles at the 1 yard line when trying to tie the game late in the 4th quarter

1998 - Loss to the Falcons; Gary Anderson misses his first FG of the year when trying to put the Vikings up 10pts with 3 min left in the 4th.  Falcons tie it, then Denny Green goes chickenshit on it and kneels at the end of the 4th, only to lose in OT

2000 - Loss to the Giants;  Known locally as "41-Donut".  The game was over halfway through the 1st quarter

2009 - Loss to the Saints - Bountygate; Favre throws across his body for an INT trying to get extra yardage.  They had a 12-men in the Huddle penalty the play before.  Longwell was ready to kick the go ahead FG. 

2017 - Loss to Eagles;  Right after the Minneapolis Miracle and trying to be the first team to play in the Super Bowl in their own stadium;  They went down and scored a TD on the first drive, then it was all Philly after that.
