Just perusing my random playlist and thinking of what I have on vinyl, in my collection you could find Dr. Dre The Chronic, Grateful Dead, Pink Floyd, Alt-J, Tom Petty, Glass Animals... Thinking of the next couple I might look to purchase, I'm in desperate need of a Tool album and would like to add something from Sturgill Simpson. Ok normal. I look at people as whackjobs if they’re actively a fan of their kids music . Like a dad listening to some 20yo that their 16 yo listens to

My 18 year old son and a few of his friends already had tickets purchased to see Kendrick Lamar in st Louis this coming June. My friend's 20- something daughter was over watching the game with us and she thought it was great. My wife knew most of the songs because she is a high school counselor. We are just getting focking old. God bless these kids.

I enjoyed the music and attitude and enjoyed it for it's entertainment value. Not sure that it's right or how this differs from that. I guess I should try to be more pure and wholesome. Having rap as the half-time show just makes it so much worse. It's such an awful genre of music for the most part. Nobody gives two sh#ts about the half-time show. Let's just get rid of it altogether. Really they could have gotten rid of it after Prince's performance. No one is going to top that show.

I'm tainted because in '77 Led Zep left the stage in Tampa after 3 songs and never came back because of a little rain. A riot followed causing there not to be another concert at the stadium for about a decade. Prince powering through it impressed me.
nobody 2,555 Posted February 10 I couldn't hear almost anything because I had people over who were talking a lot, but looking at the performance, it seemed to be another multi-millionaire crying about how oppressed he is in America. That about right?
cmh6476 1,009 Posted February 10 Here is another take I found online, reposted from a very conservative friend Quote The game sucked so I’m going to weigh in on the Halftime Show because there seems to be more people talking about it anyways… If you thought the halftime show was lame or the choreography was boring or it was lacking in general… it’s because it went way over your head. This was the most controversial halftime performance of all time. So I’ll break it down for you (and also give you some context as to who Kendrick Lamar is). Kendrick Lamar is one of the most influential rappers of his generation- 22 Grammy Awards, the first rapper to be awarded a Pulitzer Prize for Music, multiple Platinum-certified albums, Academy Award nominations for his work on Black Panther: The Album, and he has been named in TIME’s 100 Most Influential People list twice. His song “Not Like Us” earned FIVE Grammy Awards last week: Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Rap Performance, Best Rap Song, and Best Music Video. Making it the MOST DECORATED song in Grammy history. So why was this halftime performance so controversial?? Well first, because “Not Like Us” is a dis track in which Kendrick Lamar calls Drake out, by name, for being a pedophile and links him to the Diddy allegations and parties. Second, because the two of them are in the middle of a lawsuit where Drake is trying to sue Kendrick’s label. Third… he got a little personal and not only sang directly into the camera at Drake, but had Serena Williams (Drake’s Ex) come down from her box and dance on the stage to this song. And lastly… because there was A LOT of symbolism during this performance and even changed out lyrics implying that we’re all politically brainwashed but mostly the fact that Samuel L Jackson played Uncle Sam. He said “Salutations! It’s your uncle, Sam, and this is the great American game!” “Too ghetto, too loud, too reckless” “Play the game” “Score keeper, deduct one life” HE SAID THOSE QUOTES AFTER KENDRICK’S LESSER KNOWN MORE WEST COAST RAP SONGS “That’s what America wants!” “Nice and calm, you’re almost there. Don’t mess this up” HE SAID THOSE QUOTES AFTER THE FUN LIGHTHEARTED POP SONGS WITH SZA AND THEN SAID THIS ONE WHEN HE EDGED TOWARDS PLAYING NOT LIKE US “Are you really bout to do it?” THEN NOT LIKE US PLAYED AND THE GAME WAS OVER. The irony is that it proved, in real time, what Samuel L Jackson was saying. People cheered louder during the Sza songs and for most the entire message went over their heads. Brainwashed, following the herd, corrupted by the media… “Turn your TV Off” is a line he has used for telling people to disconnect from the media and self reflect. So a lot are hating on the half time show … but that man just called out pedophiles and the government in front of millions of people "Y'all picked the right time but the wrong guy for this one.”
The Real timschochet 6,388 Posted February 10 Not my kind of music but my daughters loved it. I do like Sza though.

Samuel L Jackson playing Uncle Sam aka the house ni**ga) like he played in Django. 2. Samuel L Jackson warning Kendrick to play the game white America wants us to play and not be “ghetto” 3. The Squid games stage which symbolizes the rich killing the poor. 4. The dancers in Red White & Blue representing the American flag 5. The stage also being a prison yard where his black performers harmonized while he rapped. 6. Protecting black women like Serena Williams after the disrespect from Drake 7. And once again reminding Drake and America “They Not Like Us” Y’all please this is bigger than rap! What are you, 15?
