The incident is being investigated.

Update: Trump has announced who is heading up the investigation.

It’s DNI Mike Waltz.

What would be your idea of imminent and proximate?  Apparently not this:

Just one other thought - I think you’re talking about stochastic violence. So not a situation where someone calls to a crowd of followers for direct action against someone or something nearby but instead basically ginning up hate & calumny ti the point someone somewhere will act on it. What happened to Paul Pelosi is an example of that, & maybe there’s a left wing example of that.

I haven’t been following this…how did the reporter get into the group text, anyway?

While the rest fight I'll help you out. Michael Waltz is the one who started the group it seems and added the reporter's name. The belief is Waltz intended to add someone else to the chat and clicked the wrong person. (The name escapes me though)

So it is more Waltz's mistake. Hegseth should've vetted it a little more but I can understand him trusting someone did their job correctly.

“It got sucked in”

In a world which believes in an honest and fair justice system, he would have been convicted on much lower charges and been given a much shorter sentence.  He was railroaded by a violent mob and woke federal government demanding blood.  He was negligent, but it was not murder.  His hold down method is how they were trained.

Here are the attack plans that Hegseth texted that he says he didn't text and are not classified.

I love sweet meat Pete but I don't know how he escapes this one.

At 11:44 a.m. eastern time, Hegseth posted in the chat, in all caps, “TEAM UPDATE:”
The text beneath this began, “TIME NOW (1144et): Weather is FAVORABLE. Just CONFIRMED w/CENTCOM we are a GO for mission launch.” Centcom, or Central Command, is the military’s combatant command for the Middle East. The Hegseth text continues:
  • “1215et: F-18s LAUNCH (1st strike package)”
  • “1345: ‘Trigger Based’ F-18 1st Strike Window Starts (Target Terrorist is @ his Known Location so SHOULD BE ON TIME – also, Strike Drones Launch (MQ-9s)”
  • “1410: More F-18s LAUNCH (2nd strike package)”
  • “1415: Strike Drones on Target (THIS IS WHEN THE FIRST BOMBS WILL DEFINITELY DROP, pending earlier ‘Trigger Based’ targets)”
  • “1536 F-18 2nd Strike Starts – also, first sea-based Tomahawks launched.”
  • “MORE TO FOLLOW (per timeline)”
  • “We are currently clean on OPSEC”—that is, operational security.
  • “Godspeed to our Warriors.”

I don’t get why the red ties are keeping this story going. This guy from The Atlantic has the texts, the time stamps, etc.

WTF are you talking about?  Did you miss the multiple assassination attempts on Trump and Supreme Court justices?  Are you not following all the violent attacks on Telsa car dealerships and owners?  Did you miss the Summer of Love and the hundreds of violent protests, murders, vandalism, and arson?  Are you are not aware of the swatting that has been going on against conservative journalists?  Just because your beloved trustworthy media only is outraged when violence has some loose connection to conservatives, doesn't change the fact that the vast vast vast majority of politically motivated violence is carried out are a result of anger drive by the hate-filled media of the establishment left.

It’s good to see adults back in charge, owning up to and taking responsibility for their mistakes.  Unlike the last batch of clowns that got 13 Marines and Sailors killed, left behind billions in military equipment and stranded people that helped us and called it a success. What a difference.

Jon Stewart Reveals His Favorite Pete Hegseth Quote From Group War Chat

”You know, back in my day, if you were a journalist who wanted leaked war documents, you’d work the sources, meet them in a dark garage, earn their trust, pound the pavement," said Stewart.

He joked, “Now, you just wait for the national security adviser to be distracted by White Lotus while he’s setting up his ‘Bomb Yemen’ group chat."

Stewart continued, “Perhaps my favorite text of the entire group chain was the one from our defense secretary saying, quote, ‘We are currently clean on OPSEC.’”

“OPSEC means operational security,” Stewart explained. “He said that in a group chat. A group chat with a journalist.”

A few members of the forearm were blaming Goldberg for reporting on it. They’d rather have the admin keep talking about classified information on Signal than admit there was a fock up.

I liked how in the hearing they said nothing was classified then wouldn’t answer if it would be a legal issue if Goldberg released it all.

I'm of two minds on this:

1.) This is kind of a no win for Goldberg. He either protects what he saw and keeps his journalistic high ground but gets run for being a liar, or he posts what he saw and now people will just say it's more of a vendetta and try to run him over the coals from that end.

2.) This is a colossal screwup by Waltz and Hegseth. Waltz needs to be better attuned to what he is doing and setting up and Hegseth needs to vette this stuff before he starts sending out war plans.

But in the end- Goldberg was texted war plans, Hegseth and his team lied about it, the usual MAGA mooks here like jonmx and his like swallowed every drop of it like the good whores they are, and then Goldberg threw his receipts on the table....game, set, match to Goldberg on this one. Waltz needs to be dumped. Hegseth gets a pass this time I think but needs to vette better in the future.

Not from me and hopefully not from the American public. I gave him a pass (you can go back and read my first post on the subject) but that was before he publicly lied, attacked the media, attacked Goldberg.

I get people trolling or schticking it up on here or twitter etc. I don’t get the administration keeping it going. Just say it’s under review the American people want cheap eggs or whatever and we are focused on that. It’s easy.

All Pete has to say is that it's not classified and it's not classified.  That's easy.

The hard part is he said there were no war plans.  I can see how he can say there were no specific targets but it's getting close to Clinton's "What is the definition of is"

I don't care now. Imagine Hillary getting away with having a whole unsecure machine full of classified materials and emails and liberals turning their heads to the whole matter. Oh well, she smashed the hard drive. Oh darn. :dunno:

She set the standard. Oh, and how about 10% for the big guy laptop owned by Hunter?.Liberals actively hiding it.

Most of the info was so general it would not be considered classified.  We know almost nothing about where the strikes are coming from and what the targets are.  CENTCOM is responsible for a huge area which covers all of the Middle East and south and central Asia.  So except for the times, I don't see a huge issue.

The White House is now trying to tell the public that what they’re reading is not what they’re reading: “It’s not war plans! It’s not classified!” No doubt this will work with many MAGA (including here.) Will it work with the public?

The guy say he had no idea how this reporter got added to this thread. He stopped just short of implying that the reporter was someone added by other means.

Their response is making it much worse.
