It's the "short steps" that Biden was mocked for using because it suggested he was an old man who could not make the full walk up.

so Trump is using short steps to climb steps to get in a plane and you post a link to it.  What, you take them three at a time stud?

What in the hell is wrong with you?  divorce, lose your job, mental illness, et al??????????  All of the above?

Yes of course they do. Meaning if a poor white from Appalachia enters a department store in the big city, he or she is unlikely to be constantly shadowed by an employee. He or she will not be harassed by police. And I could give you many other examples- in fact here is a list of 20 (my earlier link I’ve discovered wasn’t accessible to you:)

https://www.harpersbazaar.com/uk/culture/a32752175/white-privilege-everyday-examples/

That doesn’t mean that a poor Appalachian white doesn’t face many challenges that most of us, white or black, do not. But these are not based on skin color.

That couldn't possibly be because, historically, that store doesn't have a problem with poor whites from Appalachia, shoplifting from them, could it? That isn't privilege, it's patterns of behavior.

I don't have time to check out your new link, but I will.

LOL, ok you guys really, really want a discussion about the physical capabilities of Biden Vs. Trump. Tim's point is Garcia is being treated unfairly because of his race, whereupon it was raised that Tim would call someone raising that Covid came from China racist, and to my response pointing out Trump genuflecting to Xi's lies at the start of Covid the response is [insert video of Biden falling down]. This is an argument worthy of the halls of Oxford, must say.

"Here, we share 20 of McIntosh's examples of white privilege"

based on daily experiences that we often take for granted, in the hope it offers a better understanding of this complex subject. Let us learn from this moment and to be less oblivious to unearned racial advantages.

  1. I can if I wish arrange to be in the company of people of my race most of the time.
  2. If I should need to move, I can be pretty sure of renting or purchasing housing in an area which I can afford and in which I would want to live. - Not true for everybody, regardless of skin color
  3. I can be pretty sure that my neighbours in such a location will be neutral or pleasant to me. - Horseshit. Would my neighbors in Compton be either neutral or pleasant to me?
  4. I can go shopping alone most of the time, pretty well assured that I will not be followed or harassed. So you're saying white people don't have a history of shoplifting here
  5. I can turn on the television or open to the front page of the paper and see people of my race widely represented. Blacks are over-indexed in American entertainment.
  6. When I am told about our national heritage or about “civilisation,” I am shown that people of my colour made it what it is. White men made this country what it is. That fact is indisputable. And quite frankly, I'm tired of rehashing it.
  7. I can be sure that my children will be given curricular materials that testify to the existence of their race. Nobody is denying the existence of any race. But currently children are being given curricular materials teaching them to equate whiteness with racism.
  8. If I want to, I can be pretty sure of finding a publisher for this piece on white privilege.
  9. I can go into a music shop and count on finding the music of my race represented, into a supermarket and find the staple foods that fit with my cultural traditions, into a hairdresser’s shop and find someone who can cut my hair. Welcome to America! It's all here for you

I read as much as I could. I don't think this "list of examples of white privilege" means nearly as much as you think it does. :dunno:

Yeah, remember when those insane Dems scuttled the  border protection bill last year?

I'd think you'd want to memory hole that thing. Isn't it obvious that the border bill last year was both unecessary and an unserious farce? All that was needed was a change of president and border policy. The border is controlled now and no new bill was required.

One of bigggest recent examples of the Democrats failure, impotence, and incompetence.

White people have built a civilized society. One built on mutual trust. It's why stores can leave good on the shelves and allow you to pick and choose. It's why you don't have to lock your doors in white neighborhoods.

White people's greatest strength is our ability to partner and trust others. It's in our DNA to trust we want to believe other races think like us. And yes there are bad white people but not nearly at the extent of every other race.

Trust is also our greatest weakness. we allow everyone else to come to our country and bring their low trust and selfish culture to our society.

It's so frustrating to watch.

It's not about wealth. It's about IQ and culture.

Black people commit WAY more crime than any other race. So yes they will be watched and shadowed.

Black people have not been judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character and it turns out their character is lacking.

Do you think stores in black areas want to spend millions on theft prevention? Why in my relative white area the Kroger has to keep the Hennessy behind the counter while all the other liquor is on the shelves? I guarantee it's not because they hate black people. It's because black people kept stealing it.

It's so frustrating with you people.

You’re explaining what you believe is a justifiable reason that black people are treated differently. But at least you’re acknowledging that they ARE treated differently. Which is my main point.

Seems that white people are treated differently by Summit public schools in California .

“You get presented with, on equal merits, like a white person or a black person or whatever. Yeah, we're going with the black person,” revealed Jonathan Ferrer, Director of Human Resources for Summit Public Schools, a charter network operating in California and Washington, to an OMG hidden camera, admitting to employment practices that violate federal and state anti-discrimination laws.

During the hidden camera investigation, Ferrer acknowledged that hiring decisions are often made based on race. He explained further that hiring is evaluated in terms of the school’s perceived cultural needs, adding, “Who do we feel is best for kids right now in the context of that school site or that classroom? So if it’s a person of color, great. If it’s a trans teacher, great.”

Ferrer also discussed how the district’s DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) priorities impact candidate selection. When asked if there are certain quotas they try to meet, he explained, “Obviously we have a lot of kids that identify as LGBTQ, maybe even trans. So we have one trans teacher in our district… and so I think it’s just culturally, we just naturally look for those folks.”

Ferrer also admitted that political ideology plays a role in who is and isn’t hired. When asked if Summit Public Schools would ever hire someone who supports Donald Trump, Ferrer bluntly replied, “I don’t think we would hire them.” He elaborated that the school uses DEI-based interview questions to filter out candidates who do not align with the district’s values. “We do have DEI questions built into our selection process,” Ferrer said. “We have a rubric… if they say any of these things, this is not someone who's answering the question the way we’re aligned to answer the question.”

He provided an example of the kind of response that would disqualify a candidate, saying, “If the candidate or teacher is like, ‘Well, I want to make sure that [students] learn about conservative values,’ blah, blah, blah… that’s probably not what we are looking for.”

The National Intelligence Council determined in a secret assessment that the Venezuelan government is not directing an invasion of the U.S. by Tren de Aragua.

The determination is the most comprehensive assessment to date undercutting Trump's rationale for deporting suspected gang members without due process. https://washingtonpost.com/national-security/2025/04/17/us-intelligence-tren-de-aragua-deportations-trump

Yes they are treated differently because of the way they act.

The problem is you think they are treated differently for some arbitrary reason.

Not all snakes are poisonous. So you better believe I will treat the more dangerous differently.

You look at the snake and say oh you just don't like the red strip down it's back because youre a Redish racist.

Your logic is flawed or your trying to sow discord. Which is more likely the case.

Your problem is believing prejudice only exists in one direction.  Couple of hot takes for you.  Prejudice will ALWAYS exist.  If you can't see that by now you never will.  And prejudice exists against EVERYONE for one reason or another.  But you focus on the prejudice against black people and call it racism!!!!  All the while you ignore the prejudice against other groups, and you ascribe what in some cases are legit actions as racism because a black person is involved.

What part of France? All several score French forbears from the same area or several areas? In Louisiana we have a great deal of French heritage from the 1600s & 1700s.

I was eatin' nachos in a Costco lot
Sippin' a Slurpee, feelin' kinda hot
Black Suburban pulls up slow
They said, “Hop in, bro—it’s time to go”

Now I’m flyin’ coach on a mystery plane
They stamped my passport with someone else’s name
They said, “Enjoy your stay, José”
I said, “I’m Greg, from Tampa Bay”

I’m on Salvadorian radio
Broadcastin' live from a place I don’t know
I got sandals on and a farmer’s tan
I asked for help—they gave me plantains
(Salvadorian raaaaadio!)

I called the embassy—no one cared
They put me on hold, then patched in Cher
I tried to Venmo for a cab
But I got paid in pupusas and crab

I joined a band in San Miguel
We cover Journey and Depeche as well
Now I DJ weddings on weekends
And hide from ICE agents dressed as bridesmaids

I’m on Salvadorian radio
Spin that cumbia, let the irony flow
Deported twice, I lost my phone
But I’ve got Wi-Fi in this chicken bone zone
(Salvadorian raaaaadio!)

“This broadcast brought to you by bureaucratic error,
and the letter W for ‘Where the hell am I?’”

I used to sell timeshares in Key Largo
Now I’m dodgin’ cows near a sleepy volcano
If you see my mom, tell her I’m fine—
Just don’t mention the border line

(Saaaaalvadorian… raaaaaadiooooooo…)
