Ron_Artest 1,020 Posted 11 hours ago 31 minutes ago, nobody said: Gutter - the guy that googles every opinion he has. I mean the guy has no original thoughts. Everything straight from google and chatgpt. He doesn't realize much of sports media are grifters that don't know shìt doing the exact same thing. Yes there are a few that will buck the narratives. But most of the touts are just like Gutter. They just google what their opinions are. That's why you get situations like last year where everyone but a few kept saying MHJ was better than Nabers when all you had to do was watch a few games of each and anyone with half a brain could see that wasn't the case. The media is mob think. Deion bullied the media close to the Colorado program into saying sanders was great. Remember how a few guys criticized the program and how he attacked them? Well most people are weak just like Gutter, and will write whatever Deion wants to avoid making him mad. Then the national media - most of which are just as mindless as gutter - google their sanders opinion, and find all the puff pieces written about him, and that's how the "sanders is great" narrative is born. 95% of the sports world don't do any work or have original thoughts. The world is made up of NPCs. They make up BS contacts and really don't know shìt. Listen to guys like Steve Smith (the receiver not the biggest grifter of them all) if you want real opinions based on professional expertise watching games. I had Nabers over MHJ last year. This is pure projection. There was a time where you engaged in critical thought but during covid your brain got hijacked by russian social media.

Sean Mooney 1,931 Posted 10 hours ago MHJ and Nabers were two different types of receivers. But even that said while the general thought was MHJ was better than Nabers it was super close to the point where you could make a case for one or the other depending what you had on your squad already. With the QBs this year I don't think any of them were slam dunks. For example- NFL Draft Buzz grades QBs out of 100. For the 2025 draft they had 0 quarterbacks at 90 or above. 2024- they had 3 (Williams, Daniels, Maye) 2023- they had 2 (Young and Stroud) 2022- they had 0 2021- they had 4 (Lawrence, Fields, Wilson, Lance) This year they had Ward at 89.4, Sanders at 88.1, Dart at 87, Ewers at 84.4, and Milroe at 84.3 Which of those 5 from this year are you hitching your wagon too as a GM and feeling good? Went all in on Sanders and lost a ton of credibility. For now. If Sanders turns out to be the bomb, then Kiper is the man. Cleveland is a great landing spot for Sanders. Not a lot of hype, lousy team, he has a great chance to prove the haters wrong. To me, it seemed like Kiper was preemptively putting together soundbites he knows will get replayed over and over again two, three or four years from now if Shedeur starts putting together a good career. GobbleDog 976 Posted 8 hours ago Sanders falling to the 5th was obviously surprising. But so was the reaction from the media - as if they'd been personally insulted. Mel Kipper calling it "disgusting", Mike Wilbon saying "it was a joke and personal", etc. Never seen the media care so much about where a player got drafted. Mike Honcho 5,080 Posted 8 hours ago This has got to suck considering he could have played for another year. Quote In the Name, Image and Likeness era, he dominated the landscape. He had one of the top NIL valuations in the country per On3Sports.com of $6.5 million. He had deals with brands like Nike, Gatorade, Beats by Dre, Google, and the 5430 Alliance. Many of those deals are likely to follow him into the NFL. That’s good news, because his NFL salary won’t meet his NIL valuation. The NFL uses a slotting system for rookie salaries, based on where a player is selected. For instance, his teammate, Travis Hunter, was selected No. 2 overall. The slot for that selection is expected to be $46.5 million over four seasons, including a $30 million signing bonus. The Jacksonville Jaguars, who selected Hunter, can sign him to a fifth-year option after his third season. From there, the salary slots drop. USA TODAY published a piece on the projected salary slots for players selected in the second and third rounds of the draft, which occurred on Friday. The No. 102 pick, the last in the third round, was projected for a four-year deal worth $5.96 million, with a projected $1.083 million signing bonus. Sanders’ pick, No. 144 overall, is expected to get a four-year deal worth $4.6 million. That means that Sanders’ initial NFL contract will be well below his NIL valuation, something that few expected going into the draft. That’s because the salary slots continue to drop on the third day.
