I was looking forward to the Sychophants hall wing which would house busts of folks from his administration and from Fox News.  I was particularly looking forward to the interactive feature were you could press a button and watch a FoxNnews personality's bust moved from the Fox News Studio to Trump's Cabinet table.  Please don't tell me the plans for that wing have been canceled just to house a big ol plane!

Since when did Trump care about optics, other than on the campaign trail when he smoked the Dems with classics like Garbage Truck Trump and McDonalds Drive-thru Trump?

It's going through legal review and if it makes it to his presidential library he has to pay fair market value for it to "retain" it. Estimated at 400mil.  Maybe he will. I'd leave it as AF-1 for JD if I were him. Not his fault Boeing takes 10+ years to chit out direly needed replacements.
