WASHINGTON — Former CIA Director John Brennan ignored warnings from “veteran” officers in December 2016 and ordered the publication of a “substandard” intelligence report that claimed Russian President Vladimir Putin “aspired” to help Donald Trump win that year’s presidential election, according to a bombshell congressional report made public Wednesday.

Brennan is arguably the most at risk in the new disclosures, which appear to contradict his prior testimony before Congress. On May 23, 2017, Brennan testified that the infamous Steele dossier "wasn’t part of the corpus of intelligence information that we had. It was not in any way used as a basis for the Intelligence Community Assessment that was done."

Brennan testified to the House Judiciary Committee in May 2023, however, that he did not believe the dossier should be included in that intelligence product.

But the new report casts Brennan’s views in a different light, asserting that he “showed a preference for narrative consistency over analytical soundness” and brushed aside concerns over the dossier because of its “conformity with existing theories.” It quotes him, without context, as having written that “my bottomline is that I believe that the information warrants inclusion in the report.”

 

This is nothing new for Brennan, he is a known liar.

In March 2014, while addressing allegations that CIA operatives had infiltrated the Senate Intelligence Committee’s computer network, Brennan stated “Nothing could be further from the truth… we wouldn’t do that… that’s just beyond the scope of reason.”  Months later, the CIA Inspector General confirmed that they did in fact access Senate computers and staff emails during the Senate’s investigation of CIA interrogation practices. Focking liar Brennan then issued a public apology to Senate leaders and formed an internal accountability board.

You DID say that you base your opinion on innocence or guilt based on the facts and you DID say you’d admit you were wrong about Biden unless there were irrefutable proof of his guilt.

Mueller was unable to uncover enough evidence to charge Trump with collusion.

The Mueller report and the Senate Intelligence committee both concluded that Russia interfered with the 2016 election in an effort to help Trump.

All of the above is true no matter how you try and conflate it all.

If I see enough evidence then yeah I will believe guilt. I await some action against Biden and I hope it still arises.  He, and his family, should be held to full account for their misdeeds.

You claim John Brennan was just an Obama loyalist that lied. Firstly, he was the CIA Director. That job title alone tells you that the guy knows how to lie like a professional. His counterpart for Trump, Ratcliffe, is just as likely to be lying. You ignore that fact. You also ignore that no rationale has yet been given as to why these reports were declassified, and why there is an open investigation into Brennan and Comey. What was the basis of these? Is Ratcliffe playing an even dirtier game than Brennan is accused of?

I want to see these declassified reports. Who has a link to some actual text, and not some right wing interpretation of them?

Both the Mueller and Durham reports had nothing whatsoever to say about Brennan's actions. You'll pardon me for trusting those reports over whatever pablum Trump's hand appointed loyalist stooge claims. They have far more credibility than him.

You also conveniently ignore the many documented instances of obstruction Trump's team engaged in, detailed in the Mueller report. Why obstruct if the whole thing is fabricated?

This whole imbroglio also ignores the fact that the Steele dossier wasn't the only piece of evidence used to procure the FISA warrant. It's prominence in that decision is under scrutiny right now, but it's never been contended that it was only part of the evidence considered.

Since the Biden was investigated for taking kickbacks twice already without any proof of wrongdoing, and he’s not under investigation now, I’d say it’s safe for you to go ahead and admit you were wrong like you said you would.
