Steak: To Sauce Or Not

Steak: To Sauce Or Not

  1. 1. Does sauce belong on steak?

    • Hells no! A properly cooked steak with a little seasoning such as salt and pepper don't need no sauce!
    • Steak without sauce is like a day without sunshine! Sauce it up, b!tches!

Fat=flavor.

I never order filet as it's pretty bland.

Plus you can't afford it. 🤣

I agree with you though.  But when trying a new place for the first time I order the filet exactly for that reason, it's better to judge their steaks by with the less fat.  It's a good steakhouse if their filet is good.

I was just about to say. Having eaten at some of the best steakhouses in the world, anyone that pays 60- 70 dollars for a steak is an idiot

You can't get a decent steak under $60 anymore.  This isn't 1993.

Yeah. You could get 2 great steaks for under 60 dollars in 93. You were busy eating sour patch kids.

This is getting more and more retarded fast.

How about this.  Name me one high end steakhouse that doesn’t have sauce options.

And it isn't a matter of "need".  That's just dumb. It screams - I've eaten a lot of grocery store meat in my lifetime! 🤣

Looks like you fell for fake news yet again.

Don’t see any sauces listed under the steaks on the menu (butter is, but I wouldn’t call that a sauce despite my prior comment about Ruth’s Chris), although I’m sure they’ll give you some if you ask.

Atomic horseradish, cocktail sauce, and creamy mustard are listed as sauces on some of their seafood dishes.

is aujus' a sauce?  I mean, when I think of sauce and this thread I think of A-1.  Not a sauce made for a special steak preparation.

I never use sauce with my steak but I always have mushrooms or some side with it.  I do enjoy a good sauce with my steak occasionally though.  I see no problem with using sauce.

This is why some people take issue when you speak.  Bwahahahahahahahaahah  Some even say you talk out both sides of your mouth.  I'd have to agree!

Exactly. Like Beir mentioned in the earliest of reply’s. Enhanced natural juices are not a sauce. To think people are consulting steak house websites to prove a point is mind boggling

I suppose I could've worded that better.  When I make my own steak I never use any sauce, just mushrooms.  If I'm at a steakhouse and they have sauces with the meal then I enjoy trying them.  I can't remember the last time I've done that though.

Relax.

Plus I think @Horseman was just asking AI, I don’t think what he posted was even on the website, for Steak 48 at least.

No.  It's the juices from the meat you're eating.

Apparently it is considered a sauce.  I never though of it that way but it doesn't really matter.  It's delicious.

we usually add stock or demi to the jus, with herbs

for me, it's hard to imagine prime rib without it.

Well that would bring down the price of steak.

I want it covered with melted butter.

I actually like to mix A-1 with Ketchup.

Melted cheese and grilled shrimp on top is really good (no sauce for that).

Sauce is only used when someone fock's it up.  This is only done at someone's house where I don't feel the need to call someone out.  If I'm at a restaurant and paying for it, it better come out the way I want it or I'm sending it back.

That's how I do mine when I'm in a hurry.  Iron skillet, sear on both sides and then I put a slab of butter on the steak and put the skillet in the oven at 500 degrees for like 90 seconds to 2 minutes to get the middle temp up.  Then I pull it off the skillet right away when taking out so it doesn't keep cooking.

Cheese on a steak.  Is it on a roll?

Agreed on the filet.  Overrated.  Way too lean and lacks flavor.

It's for people that prefer white meat chicken to chicken thighs.

Not on a roll. Just add either melted Parmesan or melted Monterey Jack cheese and grilled shrimp on top.

The argument started with Rusty having a problem with Trump planning to serve Putin steak with a brandy peppercorn sauce.

Not s much a pissing match as it was pointing out the ignorance of saying Real men don't put brandy peppercorn sauce on a filet mignon.

I bet Trump pushes Putin’s seat in for him and picks up the tab too.

I knew it.  I F'in knew it.

And this is another example showing all this woke stuff is nonsense.

Rusty's balls are in his wife's purse so he has to throw in with the wokies.  But since he isn't allowed to think critically, he doesn't realize that judging someone's manliness on how they prefer their steak is an example of toxic masculinity.  Hell, judging manliness at all goes against the rejection of toxic masculinity.

But Rusty's wife obviously hasn't given him re-education on this topic with a disapproving look, so we get some throwback Rusty before the wokies got him.

It's funny how the loudest preaching are always the most guilty.  Too scared to call out BS and too racist/sexist to even know when they're doing it.

Rusty, just be cool with people of all races and genders while holding everyone accountable equally.  That's all you gotta do.
