Boycott Cracker Barrel!

I think there’s one in Cherry Hill? Seriously can’t ever remember eating at one. The old logo was much better.

There's one in Pennsville just off of the Delaware Memorial Bridge and one in Mt. Laurel (next to Cherry Hill), not sure of others in South Jersey.  Would need to google it.

I think it’s the Mt. Laurel one I’ve passed a few times. I vaguely remember being there with my wife but this would’ve been 15 years ago.

Why are people angry about the logo change?

“Honestly, the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive”- CEO

They were already losing money so I guess they felt they needed to try something.  Too bad upgrading service and food wasn’t on their list

Don't know, this thread is the first I heard of it.  If I had to guess, it's a deviation from historic pride.  White washes it.  Basically tells their customer base, that they don't want them any more.

Just my 2 cents... Cracker Barrell is like Bob Evans, they have a niche.  They should stick with that niche.  When I traveled to the south and went to those places, they were hopping.  Very busy and the food was fine (well, Bob Evans was, like I said, didn't care for Cracker Barrell), but the clientele seemed to love it.  They tried to expand up north, apparently.  The few I've been to up here were only a slight upgrade from Denny's.  My guess is that expanding out of their wheelhouse caused the quality of their product to decline.

Both chains would be best served saying in their market and catering to that crowd.  If you stop doing that and try to cater to others, you're going to lose your base and not gain new people fast enough.  I think both chains are going to progressively fade out of existence in the future if they keep with their current agenda.

The problem is “staying in their wheelhouse” wasn’t working either.

If anything conservatives should be blaming Bidenflation for their decline, not woke.  Nobody wants to pay $10 for a couple pancakes or whatever.

A search in YouTube answers the question. Apparently, the Cracker Barrel rebrand isn’t just bad, it’s “woke.” Matt Walsh seems particularly mad that their marketing director is a woman. Lots of comparisons to Dylan Mulvaney and the Aunt Jemima rebrand.

I should have known.

Yup.  And unlike the Sydney Sweeney thing, a significant number of conservatives are actually mad about this.  Maybe some of the GC posters are better than some of those other idiots if they don’t care.

I doubt anyone really cares about this either. There’s a whole cottage industry around manufactured outrage. Matt Walsh paused his rant about the whitewashing of American culture to shill some steak company. lol

The Dems better hope a new star arises. Newsome would get ripped apart in an election. They would point to California and ask do you want higher taxes? Do you want your city over run by homeless people? Do you want to watch cities burn? Vote for him. IDK how he could defend against that.

Newsom is the new star as he seems to be the only one among the Democrats that is standing up to Trump. He'll be the Democratic POTUS nominee and will do fine in the election. 😁

That's the point.

I thought that was a fake account, but apparently it's real.  Newsom hired a few 20-something interns to fail at being funny, apparently.  Newsom couldn't stop being fake if you put a gun to his head.

Everyone is paying over $10 for pancakes.  I don't recall the last time I paid less than $10 for pancakes.

Far more conservatives complaining about this than libs complaining about Sydney Sweeney and American Eagle.

Off the top of my head, well known folks complaining about this include:

Jack Posobiec

Benny Johnson

“Amuse”

Anna Paulina Luna

Charlie Kirk

Glenn Beck

Chad Prather

I've heard of 3 of these people, Moderate Tim.  :dunno:

I don't see this move as woke.  At all.   i don't know if I agree with it however.   Cracker Barrel had a niche.   Little country store feel.   That's what separated them from their competition.  If they are abandoning that and turning themselves into just a regular ol restaurant, they will have to compete much harder on price quality and service.

It couldn't have hurt.  Isn't Hooters big in the south?  I don't find them to be that big up here.

It started in Clearwater. I see they are as far north as Wisconsin.

Of course you don't think it's funny.  When you take Trump's posts as serious, you're not gonna laugh when they are mocked.

Are you aware of the dead internet theory. Likes by bots don't mean people care. You can't trust anything on the internet.

After reading up on this a little bit, this looks like a nothing burger.  People across both aisles think this is a bad idea and the market showed it.  I didn't see anyone saying they're not going anymore.  I don't see anything about mass calls to boycott.  All I saw was Jr tweet "WTF?"  Looks like liberal media making it political more than anything else.

Are you saying that some of the biggest right wing influencers, including multiple ones that have been invited to the White House because they’re apparently the real media now, are buying fake likes?

Cracker Barrel and Bob Evans both stink. Would go to the Bob Evans in Harrisburg PA, over priced and average. Capital Diner accross the street was way. better. Cracker Barrel in Chambersburg off rt 81, same overpriced and average.

I'm just saying that you can't trust anything any longer. No matter what, who or where. I think they say that like 50% of the internet is now bots.

The right are the primary ones complaining about it.  They may not be specifically calling to boycott, but they are saying the reason the idea is bad is because of woke.

@MDC mentioned Matt Walsh as one example.  Some others:

for @RaiderHaters Revenge

You’re right. I should have said I doubt many of the pundits pushing this non story care. They’re in it for the $. I’m sure many of their viewers are convinced this is a big deal. Sad.

Newsflash: the Restaurant industry is lesser food. Home cooked meals are better, if you know how to cook. Sadly, the last couple of generations the vast majority can't and don't cook at home. I blame women in the workforce. Cook, clean, make me a sandwich and get me a beer, and have dinner ready when I'm done with work. This is the way.

You’re right on restaurants and people cooking. Can’t really blame women for two-income homes. Not many families can subsist on one income these days.
