It was my way of saying that all of my favorite intoxicants will be available to me, and I can choose which ones I want and to what extent.

Of course I said all this yesterday then a buddy reached out and said he would be needing a break from his family and will be joining me around the time the second game kicks off. I'll have to jam my posting in before then.

I bought the food and drink, our Chef/cook will be here at 9 to prep and start cooking. The servers thereafter. People arrive around 1:00, hopefully leave by 7. 

Yup, I'll have plenty of time to make fun of Trannies tomorrow night. Especially after a few Bourbons.

My buddy has been off all week taking care of their 3 yr old (He's 52) while his (much younger) wife is working. Tomorrow morning they'll go to his folks house, where he is one of 7 kids, all bringing their spouses and families. Friday he's going to be with his wife's family (she only has 2 siblings, both with 2 or 3 kids) all day. Dude needs to tip a couple back and smoke a bowl; I'm more than happy to furnish that escape for him. It's what friends are for.

No. I am not very lettuce-like. At best, I'd be the undercooked, hard to eat, slimy bacon. 52 with a 3 yr old?  Eesh... Anyway, I'm 58 but had my kids earlier in life so all three are grown and living on their own.  The two that live here (and my son's GF) will be here; I don't see them as often as I like, so I look forward to it.  Thankfully, I raised the kids right and they love sports (as does my wife) so we'll have football on all day.  Son's GF doesn't like sports, but she can play with our two cats or whatever.

That being said, even when younger and actively raising 3 kids, it would never occur to me to leave my house and family on the actual holiday.  In your scenario, Saturday sounds like a great day to get drunk and stoned.
