I’m sure there’s plenty of fraud here, but:

1) MAGA is acting like this is the first time anybody has ever exposed this, yet it seems like local officials and news organizations have been calling it out - here’s one example from almost a year ago even naming one of the same centers Shirley visited - https://kstp.com/kstp-news/top-news/62-investigations-underway-involving-federally-funded-minnesota-child-care-centers/

2) MAGA is acting like this Shirley dude invented journalism.  Kudos to him for being out in the streets, but he probably could have accomplished more by being a little more professional.   Going around saying “can I sign my boy Joey up for daycare, oh yeah what do you think of all the fraud?” is obviously going to lead to reactions like he got.  Not to mention 2 dudes showing up without children asking where the kids are is a bit questionable to say the least.

3) Again, I’m sure there’s some, probably a lot, of fraud here, but I don’t think it’s fair to assume basically every place except one that he visited is committing fraud.   Also at one point people call the cops on him, I know local PD probably isn’t going to investigate fraud but people doing illegal things don’t often call the cops on other people.

I know you and Jerry are going to whine about “moderate Tim saying one sentence about how it’s bad and then three paragraphs defending it.” I’m not defending fraud and again it’s probably happening here, I’m merely pointing out that this “investigation” IMO isn’t really the smoking gun that people seem to think it is.  Hopefully some real journalists do some more follow up.
