It's irrelevant to the assignment if the assignment is to discuss if there is a correlation with popularity and bullying and conforming to gender norms based on some article.

And don't get me wrong.  The student is retarded, yes, but I'm sure the professor is also probably pushing the lgbtq agenda because dissecting some article on gender norms and how they lead to bullying is already loaded with lefty bias.

That's the better track to take if you want to team red/blue this.  Not starting an argument about if god exists.

Again.  The paper did suck, but the grader and prof also biased, so as usual in conflicts like these, both sides are terrible.
