2 come to mind

1) Smokey   Growing up.   I remember we had 3 cats, and one had kittens.  All of a sudden we had 7 cats.  My dad was like "oh hell no" and told me and my 2 brothers he was getting rid of them.   We begged him to at least keep Smokey.  And he did.  Lived to 16 or so.  I still have a scar on my left arm when I was holding him too long or doing something he didn't like( i was maybe 8 years old so yeah) and he scratched me and jumped away.  But he was a great cat.

2) First cat wife and I got when we married and got a house.  Oscar.  Great cat.  Loved people.  Would spend tons of time on my lap.  Sometimes I'd be sitting there and he would be on my lap and I didn't even remember him jumping up there.  Whole family loved that guy.

the only one i've had. i'll have had him 4 years in January.  guy was smaller than peafoams diick when I got him, now he's probably 17ish lbs. He's not obese, still can make all the jumps, but needs to lose a few.

We've had the pleasure of providing a home to too many over the years to declare a single favorite. 

We had to put Pat down the Monday after Thanksgiving due to heart failure. That focker was cool as fock. He is definitely on our Mt Rushmore of awesomeness.

We are on our 4th and 5th cat, and the wife and I agree that it would be easier to pick our least favorite:  Oreo, from our first pair.  The other, Edward, was really fun and affectionate.  Next we had Ninja, a 20+ lb Maine Coon mix who was super chill.  I'd probably pick him mostly because he was the cat our kids grew up with.  He was an all black rescue, and two of my three kids got all-black rescues when they moved out (black cats often go unadopted because people have dumb superstitions or whatever).  He passed two years ago, and last year we got a mostly-black brother/sister kitten pair who are really great.  Cosmo, the boy, is a dog-cat; he fetches balls for treats.  Lyra loves to sit on my lap when I take a dump and sleep (this latter one, while cute, might get a little old).  She has become more my cat, where Cosmo more often lies on my wife.  I could see one or both of these becoming our GOAT.
