mmmmm...beer 830 Posted Friday at 04:10 AM Looks like we are heading back to the Vancouver, WA are around the end of February. Just a little shy of two years in Japan. Good enough. So we picked up a rental in the town we were in before. Our daughter has a bit over a year before she graduates high school. Then, we'll just have the 1st grader, well she'll have finished 2nd grade by then. But.... Maybe we move one more time. I think it will be time to settle down. Wherever we move to next, should be our we die here home. We'll be married 25 years in November. Moved sooo much. I think we're done. Don't know where we'll end up for sure. But yeah... Got a vasectomy @ 40 as we were good with a boy and a girl. A few guys will recall, 4 years ago now the State of North Dakota called. Hey remember the youngest brother you have? The one you are estranged from because he's an @sshole? Yeah, he's going to prison. He and his wife gave up custody to the State for their kids. The two older ones went with their Mom's. The youngest, your 2 year old niece, is going to go into the system. You and your wife are the only fam worth a sh!t. Soooo... Yeah we have a 6 yo little girl. I'll try not to find any more to raise. We'll see how it goes.

Yeah... It's about -$1500 to rent a house in our area for the same house. Not to mention all the shiz that comes with home ownership. But ya only live once I guess. We may never buy again. Owned 4 homes in 23 years ish.

We bought ours for $290,000, and the appraisal district had it valued at $550,000 which is baloney. We protested and managed to knock like $80,000 off that. It helped to have a realtor friend who provided us with a bunch of comps from recent sales. It used to be the appraised value was way lower than the market value, now that has flipped. Greedy ferks! There seems to be a bit of fishiness to that entire process. Love how they ask what the sales price is before they do their appraisal.

Ps.still a pain in the though. Yeah being early retired and able to tap into my TSP (.gov 401k) unfettered is nice. That being said, it's still costing us $8,295 to move in. $3,695 - 1st $4,100 - deposit $500 - pet fee for the bulldog.

Again good luck and God Bless and moving always sucks.

Engorgeous George 2,379 Posted Friday at 09:23 PM I moved this September. We needed a home with a basement large enough to build a suite for my MIL who can no longer take care of herself. I had to paint the interior of the old home, pack that home into Pods, pack my MIL apartment into Pods, paint the interior of the new home, build out a kitchenette in the new home and redue the baeement bathroom, unload all the Pods and get us settled. Exhausting work at my age. I lost 25 pounds during the process. The next time I move I hope to be in the box, not moving the boxes and furniture. I did hire piano movers but did the rest myself. Never again.

So... Yeah. Go to prison you filthy fock. I was never close. I was 18 and out of the house when he was born to mom and step father. I had stopped talking to him a few years before when mom and his dad divorced and he robbed her of some money. Wife and I have discussed how/when we tell her the truth that we are auntie and uncle. The state has counseling to help with that. Most likely we'll hit them up sooner than later when we get back. Don't want her finding out later and freaking.
