cyclone24 1,814 Posted September 2, 2015 Maybe for one week with Blount suspended? Figure at a flex might be starting someone with some uncertainty....Gray was pretty productive. Not a backfield I'd want any part of for a year...but what are thoughts on Gray in week 1?
justforbeer 39 Posted September 2, 2015 My thought is.... If you can put him on your bench this week 1 and he looks horrible You drop him. If he goes off week 1, you just struck gold and beat everyone out to have him.
Ray_T 591 Posted September 2, 2015 so long as he doesnt show up late to practice the next day like he did the last time he blew up.
LoOnAtIk 75 Posted September 2, 2015 Start week 1 with confidence. No Blount but more importantly no Brady. He'll definitely be in my Fanduel lineups. After week 1 though, your guess is as good as mine lol
cyclone24 1,814 Posted September 2, 2015 Worth dropping Hillman for?
Ray_T 591 Posted September 2, 2015 no. you hang onto hillman. Belechick likes to do RB by committee. He will start Gray one week, Blount the next, (and so on) the starter is highly dependant on the game plan they put in that week. Even if they declare him the starter, it wont matter (in my opinion) Hillman has far more upside. if he gets named the starter, he will start.
BufordT 371 Posted September 2, 2015 If he goes off week 1, you just struck gold and beat everyone out to have him. If he goes off week 1, you try to trade him b4 week 2.

Not sure if you see Hillman being named the starter for the Broncos , unless Anderson gets hurt I see Anderson has the number one guy with Hillman getting work . But there is no way I would take a rb from the pats stable . And I agree with the other post take Gray if he goes off and he could the Steelers def is going to be awful again than I would trade him quick .
LoOnAtIk 75 Posted September 2, 2015 Nobody is going to want Jonas Gray after one good week so eliminate that scenario lol. He might be better than Blount but nobody will bite on a trade after just 1 good week. We all know what a mess of a situation that is.

The coach said that Anderson is 1A and Hillman 1B. it looks right now like they are sharing carries. I'd say Anderson is not worth his ADP right now. Not saying he wont start, but I dont think he will be the bell cow back everyone thinks he will be.

Ray_T 591 Posted September 2, 2015 Agree he is not worth is value and most have been saying the same thing , but unless Anderson gets hurt he is the starter . of course. I still think Hillman is worth more than Gray. Gray holds week 1 value, and if he explodes in week 1, he MAY be tradeable. in theory you may then pick up Hillman on waivers (if he is still there) the concern I have is that Hillman wont be there when you come back to him. in the end I still would hang onto Hillman. Nobody without any kind of track record is tradeable after 1 week lol. Only if you get clever and make it part of a package deal. But realistically even he explodes in week 1 his trade value doesn't get much of a bump at all simply due to the uncertainty.

I've seen people make dumb moves. it doesnt happen a lot, but it does happen. I do agree. any prudent owner wants a track record of at least 2 or 3 weeks. but lots of people are impatient, and early in the season if they identify RB as a position of weakness, they will try to grab someone like this after 1 good week and they will overpay in a panic move. I know if I was fishing for a RB, I'd rather overpay after one good game, than overpay after 2-3 good games. Yes your risk is higher, but if they turn out to be the real deal, your overpayment wont seem that bad after 2-3 more good games.

Ray_T 591 Posted September 3, 2015 Agree he worth a lot more , I don't even have Gray on any of my draft boards . no. I have him on my watch list. He could be a priority free agent pickup. But I wont draft him. Hillman will likely be picked up by someone late in the draft. I'd suggest he is worth more to the CJ anderson owner, but I've been wrong on this in the past. Col Hogan 2 Posted September 4, 2015 the starter is highly dependant on the game plan they put in that week. This is the one reason Gray worries me. BB tries to get a little too cute with his gameplan. That said,Gray could have an inside track if he performs in Week 1. I like his chances more now that Brady is playing. The only problem is picking the games when BB decides to pound the rock. I think Gray is def worth a late round pick.
smash-a-mus 6 Posted September 4, 2015 Gray is probably a better daily fantasy pick than in season long fantasy pick. Draft and pray you'll get that magical 4 td game from him.

Frozenbeernuts 1,652 Posted September 5, 2015 Wow, surprising if true. (Hasn't been confirmed yet but he was not at practice today.) Not really. He isnt that good of a rb. Just did his job in the system.
IGotWorms 3,315 Posted September 5, 2015 Not really. He isnt that good of a rb. Just did his job in the system. You'll get no argument from me there. But they don't really have any depth behind Blount in the "big back" role. Bolden, White, Dion Lewis, etc. are more passing backs.

Joey Gladstone 33 Posted September 5, 2015 Indeed. A sometimes productive JAG. I could see them bringing him back. Rotoworld thinks it might be due to injury.

DaBeerz 88 Posted September 9, 2015 Gray is not worth a look, no. Belichick is extremely fickle with his RB. Remember when Gray scored 4TDs and was supposed to be the guy? Then he was late to a meeting so Belichick stapled him to the bench for the rest of the season. I don't even think he dressed for a few of the games. NE is always RBBC hell. mnvikejohn 1 Posted September 9, 2015 Not only is he in Miami... but, he signed to Miami's practice squad!!! Surprised there were not other opportunities out there.
