We build schools and community centers... they are trashed almost immediately. In my home town of Memphis, the city schools spend vastly more per student than the county schools. Many of those schools are entirely funded by county taxpayers, in a deal that was struck to keep decent schools out in the county. But those expensive schools are still a pit of violence and waste.

 

Thats the real answer. Were tired of it. Live right or dont. Raise yourself or dont. We dont really care anymore. But we by god are going to fund our own schools, and fund police to keep the violence over there, and not in our neighborhood. Thats just how its gonna be.

One of the things that gets me about them...obviously they hate institutionalized racism. You can partake in a BLM "demonstration" that is being had without a permit and you're going to be fine. But other demonstrators need permits. That's institutional privilege. Privilege enjoyed because of real fear (it's going to be worse if we don't let them do their thing) and because of politically correct pressure...ie,they are wronged, therefore they don't need to go through the same channels that the non-wronged do.

 

Worse...intimidating bystanders and vandalizing their cars. Making them fear for their safety..again, because you can. You hold the power. You hold the malice. People like your grandfather (and my uncle a Korea Vet who had the same view of race) died off which is why you've never experienced anyone like that for the rest of your life. That view is gone.

 

None of us posting here lived through that time except maybe some of our older members as young children, it's fifty years gone now, our (yours and mine and the entire Geek Club's) lifetimes have been lived without experiencing that and none of the posters here sound like your grandfather. Nobody here has any interest in repressing black people, in fact the opposite, we all want them to succeed in life. To not have 75% out of wedlock births, finish high school, get a job, pay taxes, stay off drugs and out of gangs, and stop whining and blaming the police or racism for their problems.

I suppose being a Navy vet on a ship fighting them for a few years in the 40s, then as we're from Detroit, hating/envying their auto companies successes at US expense through the 70s and 80s, and their seeming taking over in the 90s through when he died, maybe that was his world view. He hated them. In China, they also hate the Japanese. I don't know any American my age or on this forum who hates the Japanese. They're smart, they work hard, they pull their own weight, and they don't complain. I've been in China for nearly seventeen years now, and I catch flack every now and again for being in China, but not ever in all that time for having a Chinese wife.
