I think you're hung up on a couple of the things here; the whole pretend thing is kind of ridiculous. Again, to "pretend" to be the opposite sex and compete, you have to be on hormones and blockers and all kinds of garbage that shows you're below a certain level of testosterone. WHY would anyone do this to be 36th in the women's category? If that's the TRUE driving force, then there's a lot more wrong with Lia Thomas than previously thought. They want to be treated as real women. To be called a real woman in sports, they want to join that category. Doing so gives them an unfair advantage, they win and literally "steal" places from women who've been working to achieve this their entire lives. To create (or keep) the field even for those biological women, they create a new category specifically for trans-females. Joining that category means: They really aren't "real" women. They are in their own category. They will be competing against other trans women, who might or might have unfair advantages due to the hormones, time on hormones, whether they reached puberty before/after hormones, etc. They won't place as well as they do in the women category, because of the bonus of being stronger and faster than 90% of the individuals they are competing against. Put these things together and they don't join the category designed just for them. WHAT?! No one joined?! WHY NOT?! -

I know that they want to be treated as women. I never knew that they would object to competing in a trans category in sports. To me that seems to make sense. I'll gladly plead ignorance on the inner workings of the trans community. Also by now you should know that HT constantly posts lies about me to trying to get my attention. He's a disingenuous troll of the highest order. -

One of my BFFs is a lesbian and I hang out with her and her lesbian friends frequently. they really strongly dislike the trans movement, the "gender queer" types of labels, etc. Because it really does make them feel like they no longer matter in that world. It's all about gay men or trans women. Lesbians are kind of on their own. -
Maybe way too many other posters are signaling that they’re worried about their sexuality. That’s not my fault if you guys cluster. It’s not simply for disagreeing. It’s for making up reasons to revile LGBTQ that evince nothing other than ignorant fear. Like the drag queen story hour. You look stupid and just fearful. I guess you’re gonna call me racist for pointing out when yahoos like you say some stupid racist , cause that’s the pattern you’re establishing here. I’m fine with gays, bi, non binary, trans women in sport, questioning, whatever. Don’t confront me at all. Why should it? Let’s keep the focus on who is crying and moaning about “the gays” and what the possible reasons could be. I mean it’s not like there isn’t a pattern on your side of dudes trying to enact tough anti gay policies and then being busted as gay themselves. It’s self loathing behavior. So when you loathe, the natural conclusion is cause you loathe yourself in the end. Folks who are fine with “the gays” don’t have that problem. It’s that simple. Sorry.

I'd love to have a beer with you and enlighten you on the complexity of transgenderism. It isn't some mental decision. Our bodies are complex, and it's not about DNA. It's about hormones that lead to brain structures that are different from assigned sex at birth. This happens during fetal development. It's not the trans person's fault, nor is it mental illness, that their bodily chemicals and brain functions tell them they're the opposite sex. You were born with your brain and body telling you that you're male. I was born with my brain and body telling me I was female, despite being born with a twig and berries, which remain intact and fully functional. If you saw me walking down the street, you almost break your neck checking me out. I'm told I'm beautiful, so who cares what lurks beneath my panties? Imagine if you being born male and identifying as male is not the societal norm, and you grow up listening to adults and playground kids mocking heterosexual males. You'd be pretty messed up psychologically by the time you get to adulthood. This is where mental illness lies, the product of indirect emotional abuse and the shame that comes with it. I'm certainly against it being legal for anyone under 21 to undergo gender-altering surgery and even hormone therapy. Grow up and see where you are but get emotional support in the meantime. But if that's what they choose with their bodies, I don't see it much differently than cosmetic surgery or even getting tattoos. Why people feel threatened by all this is something I still have trouble trying to understand. I'm fine with you as long as you're fine with me. We both love fantasy football, so we've already got common ground.

I don't think she's trans. But I stand by my opinions on this topic. A quick Google search doesn't provide any proof that she's trans. At least nothing i can find. -
I would agree that conservatives are more vocal than they used to be. Two possible reasons come to mind. One, social media and the interwebs have made it much easier. We used to rely mostly on MSM, which always leaned left. There weren't many conservative voices, other than folks like Rush Limbaugh, the original Satan's spawn boogeyman of the Left (the title of which obviously belongs to Trump now). Two, I think we let progressives have too much control, causing too much change too fast, and a "wait, wut?!" reaction from the right. Change CAN be good, but change for change's sake isn't necessarily good. Most normal people can look back on gay marriage and say yeah, nothing wrong with that, I'm glad we worked through that. And besides, it doesn't affect me or society in general. But now we want medically mutilate confused children? (I know, I hate trans people...)? Now we're impacting innocent children. History will not look back kindly at stuff like this. (actually, it probably will, because the Left will write it and they will say "oh well, we meant well!").

It's not even ALL the trans people. It's the subset that are militant in their belief about bathrooms. I bet even most trannies don't care whether the bathroom they piss in is labeled men or women. They just want to piss. The only reason I use the one labeled men is so as not to get arrested and to be respectful of the women folks' space.

Sounds like we agree. I’ll admit I don’t follow polling numbers of trans folks, but if I had to bet, most would say they just want to use the bathroom of the gender they identify with, and not require new all gender bathrooms

If this guy thinks he’s a guy he’s simply not transgendered, even if he wears makeup and looks effeminate. I haven’t seen anything that shows he identified as anything other than male. Even if he were/is trans so what?

Yeah, I know you clarified that. I just wanted you to know that while I hold these views, I don't hate single parents/lgbtq people. I simply think that a child's best chance for a full and successful life is with a nuclear family. I also believe that the explosion in the lgbtq community is BECAUSE we've promoted it. It influences young kids to think that is an option. Most of the LGBTQ people have some kind of trauma in their lives that pushed them to that path or the constant barrage of the ghey lifestyle confused a child to the point where they think it's a viable option. Very few are "naturally" gay, IMO. Again, the LGBTQ lifestyle is diametrically opposed to the continuation of the human race. So I don't believe parents are putting their kids thru a "turn gay" curriculum, but it's a conglomeration of media and promotion that confuses kids. Although, you certainly can go online to TikTok and find parents proudly proclaiming and pushing their kids to be trans. As far as evidence, I'm not sure, TBH. My concern with ghey parents mostly stems from the fact that two people of the same sex simply CANNOT teach the other sex to their child. For example, two lesbians cannot teach their male child how to be a man and a female child simply cannot be taught the things a male father can teach her, what it's like to have a male in her life and things like that. Two lesbians simply cannot teach that. A child needs that learning from both sexes. The same holds true for single parents, but they have the added burden of not having another parent around to help raise the kids.
