There is an increasing hypersensitivity to considering crimes a hate crime. If a trans person gets [insert crime: mugged, carjacked, flipped off on the freeway for a bad lane change], it is increasingly reported as a hate crime. From your link: Look at that bolded statement. Really? That list comprises more than half of the people in the US. The Asian hate crime stats are real though. Those numbers from your link are through the roof, and that culture is not one to invoke woke. -

I think it's way better today than it was when I was growing up. I've actually changed my views on things quite a bit. It's not my place to judge others and it's not bothering me so it's something I wrote off to growing up in the time and area that I did. But I can say people even where I'm from in a small southern town have more ability to be openly gay now than back then. Back then it was something no one would have admitted. There's always been hate crimes but I doubt it's worse today. Now there is a lot of furor about the trans issue, especially when it comes to kids. To me that's a totally separate issue than having hate or even caring if an adult is straight or gay. -

This is generally a true statement. And most people who are opposed to gay or trans are never going to hurt anyone. But there’s no question that the ones that do are motivated by increasing hatred. -
That's exactly what it is, well stated. They can't control the narrative without being the hero. They are the self proclaimed heros to the blacks, gays, trans, minorities, etc. Basically anyone who feels disenfranchised. Except it's all BS. The Dems have done nothing for these people. Democratic run cities are falling apart. Crime is out of control, businesses and jobs are leaving in flocks, schools can't find teachers who want to work in that environment, etc. It took a while but many are starting to see through their BS.

This is wrong. And it’s a poor comparison. A gay black man was murdered; it was an act of homophobia. It was a hate crime. The victim didn’t instigate it. The Asian family that was mistreated by the three teens were also the victims of hatred and bigotry. But one incident has nothing to do with the other. The reason that I blame conservatism for the former crime is that there is so much anti-gay and trans rhetoric coming from them these days. Is there anti-Asian rhetoric coming from anyone? Outside of Donald Trump during Covid I haven’t heard it. Still, tensions between blacks and Asians have always been an issue. But it really has nothing to do with this topic. -

OK please allow me to correct this. 1. I don’t love teachers unions. In particular I don’t like tenure. I’ve been married to an elementary school teacher for over 30 years and my oldest daughter is about to become one as well. Now I’ll admit I share the liberal views of most teachers about gays and trans, and I believe in teaching elements of critical race theory. But I certainly don’t love teachers unions. Far from it. 2. I don’t hate cops. The vast, VAST majority of police officers are good people, well meaning and heroes and deserve thanks for protecting us. I do not like what I firmly believe is institutional racism against people of color, and I would like to see more reform to address this. But that in no way means I hate cops. 3. I don’t demonize people who disagree with me. I demonize extremists and bigots. Unfortunately there are more than a few of these in this forum (more extremists than bigots though there are some of each), and when I read their posts I often call them out. They deserve to be demonized. But people who disagree with me don’t. 4. Whenever Winston Churchill was called a hypocrite (it happened quite often) he responded by saying that consistency is for small minds. I tend to agree with this. -

Small dollar political donations. Team Blue and the DNC are far more heavily reliant on small dollar political donations than the GOP. This is why the BLM "protests" and looting/rioting was so profitable. Each major riot that happened, it created a groundswell in the national daily media cycle, of which the activist left leaning MSM was complicit, and it drove fundraising. Every donation to BLM was sent through the Act Blue portal, which allowed a kickback mechanism later to the DNC. Every small business that burned, Democrats in elected office got paid. Sad and pathetic as that becomes, that's what really happened. That's why Oregon refused to call in the National Guard until AFTER Biden won the general election. Didn't matter that the endless nights of rioting, burning and looting destroyed the practical local tax bases and blew up the budgets of many big cities. AOC is the ultimate litmus test on where small dollar donations stand with Team Blue. She has ZERO major big hitter corporate donors on her roster. ZERO. Establishment Democrats made it a point to choke her out financially, and through Obama and Clinton's cooked "Joint Finance Agreements" via DNC HQ. Ocasio Cortez is almost entirely reliant on working class people chipping in 20 dollars here or 50 dollars there. She "bent the knee" because she has one of the highest paid staffs in all of Congress and spends more on social media ad buys than anyone else in professional politics outside of POTUS contenders in a general election run. To hold her platform and stay relevant in the national daily media cycle, AOC is almost entirely reliant on social media engagement and almost non stop fundraising. Did climate change policy come through for young voters? 15 dollar minimum wage? Medicare For All? Student Loan Forgiveness on a broad scale? Free college for anyone who wants it? Her fundraising has tanked. So has every other Democrat up and down the ticket. This is what happens when you screw up the economy, play the stupid culture war game, go after kids in schools, push Pro-Trans extremism, rainbow flag everything up, cook up stupid "bail reform", Defund The Police, hit people at the gas pump, rent and grocery store prices, ruin the Southern Border and turn it into a swinging open gate, leave billions in weapons for terrorists in Afghanistan, demand everyone get the jab or lose their jobs, gaslight everyone with the activist MSM, declare war on the working class, screw with parents in every direction, and on and on and on and on. The more you choke out their money, the harder is for them to win elections. If they can't win, you don't see more stupid crap like London Breed paying 300 dollars a month for criminals not to shoot each other in public. Or vending machines with crack pipes in them in New York. What does this have to do with Rittenhouse? Every single time a Conservative pundit mentions Rittenhouse, it helps Team Blue's fundraising. This is part of the reason why the activist MSM went after the kid so hard for so long. He was a cash cow for DNC HQ. So, "No", don't put up a statue of Rittenhouse. Ignore him and pretend he doesn't exist. Then that helps choke Team Blue out financially. Which makes it easier for them to lose. And lose big. Win the war, not a few tiny pitched battles in the dark. Small fierce firefights in isolated patches don't change the landscape here. @League Champion , I have nothing but the greatest respect for you and you are one of my most favorite posters here in the GC. As an individual, I could care less who Barack Obama sleeps with at night, just keep it in private and keep it to yourself. He's long been known to be involved with some of his "staffers" over time, women actually in the various administrations, and again, even with that, keep it to yourself. Man or woman, as an individual, it's not a concern of mine on a surface level. However, as an American citizen, I have a problem if it's ever impacted public policy or pressure to shift public administration down the chain in a certain direction. It's a fair concern if Obama was ever blackmailed into a specific direction over this kind of information. Because those public policy decisions impact all Americans period. It impacts our opportunities, the taxes we pay, the government services that may or may not be available, even down to things like access to needed medications and critical infrastructure like waste management, water treatment, local law enforcement, transportation, etc, etc. Also like Bill Clinton, and you can add Trump, Biden and even W Bush into this equation, did some sexual scandal create a question of overall integrity. Bill Clinton lied to the American people about Lewinsky. I don't care what "arrangement" that Bill and Hillary Clinton might have had in private, but lying to the public at large also has a domino effect. Once that scandal came out, Dee Dee Myers, probably the most impactful and skill Press Secretary in the modern era, is well known in the media world for suggesting to the administration to start bombing. Who? Anyone. There are people dead around the world who might be alive today if not for trying to drag Lewinsky and Ken Starr out of the national daily media cycle. Every time Trump's insane and exhausting media circus slam fists the Stormy Daniels scandal, it's not air time talking about things like affordable housing for the working class. Again, these lies as individuals mean little in a narrow context, but once actual policy is potentially leveraged or impacted, then we are talking about something that punishes every day Americans. Gavin Newsom spent a decade as Lieutenant Governor in California. He had to rot so long because his scandal in San Francisco with sleeping with his best friend's wife, both staffers, wouldn't wash off. While in that position, he pushed for a lot of legislation that was clearly misandrist. Why? He wanted to change the narrative out in public with him and women. Every Californian for generations, particularly actual men, have to pay the price, from a policy perspective, because Newsom couldn't keep it in his pants. If there is a linkage with this story and the sweeping "Pro Trans Extremism" in this country in what is informally known as "Obama's Third Term/Obama's Shadow Term", then that impacts children all across this country. Also if Iran is able to fully develop nuclear weapons, that will happen in no small part to the Obama Administration. Iran will no doubt come to kill us all. I know @JustinCharge gets picked on for saying nuclear war is around the corner in almost every corner possible, but I'll be the first to say that it Iran gets nukes, they are coming for our blood. And if it happens, Obama's imbecile foreign policy routine with them will be the root of much of it. So yes, if this Obama scandal turns into some impact that leads to all out nuclear holocaust, then it matters. -
I'm not trying to be funny but he may have a Trans Kid. I've asked before and he wouldn't answer directly, he avoided it. If that's the case, he should be proud, not ashamed. We only have a problem with the perverted ones that we expose. Not all are bad, I'm sure his Kids are very pleasant.
