Watched my stepdad beat a dog half to death

Recommended Posts

I'll address each one of your statements individually.

- Again, Mr. Board Cheerleader, it wasn't a strange dog. He's been at my parents house for nearly six years. Also, my daughter has interacted with this dog hundreds of times with no issues.

- And while you were calmly trying to remove your kid from the situation, the dog would be calmly ripping him/her to shreads. Maybe my stepdad went overboard, but I sure as hell didn't.

I notice that you've conveniently left out the dog's size and breed.

My grandma once said, you could judge a persons character, on how they treated animals. I think she was prolly right.

 Well said!

I guess you lied to your dog a lot and acted, generally, like a pusssy towards them?

Mutt, might have some dalmation in it. Middle of the road as far as size. Not as big as a Lab, but definitely not a house dog.

Don't you have any uplifting stories?

I thought that this was pretty uplifting. I mean, they did "uplift" the pooch just prior to firing it off the wall in the garage!

I believe he may have quoted lines from songs to them and told them how to make cheap breakfast.

He thought that was an uplifting story. Sickos get off on violence towards animals and are shocked when others find it disgusting!

Plenty, but is that what anyone really comes here to read?

if it were MY daughter, she would've kicked that dog's azz herself.

No one likes an internet tough daughter.

I love how you read each comment and then put a  to somehow act like you don't care? Classic! Your daugher will most likely have nightmares about this for some time but it seems you are more interested in "bragging" about beating a dog on a football message board. Hopefully she won't tell anyone outside your family or you may be getting a visit from the local child welfare office.

Get yourself and your sick stepdad some help. Seriously!

That is all I have to say about that.....

Making alot of friends here already, huh?

P.S. This isn't a football message board. You can tell that by the lack of football related posts.

HTH

Just another in a long line of reasons to have cats as pets.

Right, because they're so stable

Nothing is funnier then little children being attacked by dogs and animal cruelty

Why share that with the board?

Ummmm...he was telling an interesting story. And I don't remember him saying the part about his kid being attacked, or the dog being beaten was funny. Can you go cry somewhere else?

They may be a little goofy, but they won't, and most likely can't, bite your head off.

OMG, I haven't laughed this hard in DAYS.

Shovel, first off, I am glad that your daughter is okay and sounds as if she was able to walk away physically unscathed.

However, I do agree that watching an animal get beat is not something that a four year old should witness. I can TOTALLY see how you and step dad felt while seeing an animal act that way towards your child. I am hoping tht your step dad feels SOMETHING about what happened, whether it's guilt for his reaction, or if it's hoping that his granddaughter isn't afraid of animals, or him for that matter. Four year olds are extremely impressionable, I have one myself.

I think that as people who've had domesticated animals for hundreds of years we still forget that they can get territorial, and they WILL protect what they feel is rightfully theirs. I have read about Pomeranians attacking infants, so it's not always abut size and breed. Regardless if the animals have been there for several years, and that your daughter interacted with them before, they CAN turn at any time, again, especially when they are trying to protect something.

Again, glad to hear that everyone is okay.

I'm sorry, but ######. There is a whole new breed of pussies around here.

Shovel didn't do anything wrong. Man some of you guys are some bandwagon jumping, judgemental phags.

Beating the dog half to death is wrong. But honestly in that situation I can see it.

Your granddaughter is about to get mauled by your dog, and I can see having some anger and rage coming into play. My dad would've simply shot it behind the barn.

Animals are animals. They're not humans. Some of you fuckking people b!tch more about animals being hurt than the senseless violence that goes on day after day in your own backyards, but hey, save Fido.

Get your fukking priorities straight.

Once, when I was walking in the woods, I came upon a moose. I beat it to death much in the same manner. I didn't want to do it, but I felt I owed it to him.

Also, sorry about the loss of your FIL's pooch, Tina Turner.

What kind of golf cart is it?

Evidently, one that hasn't been outfitted with one of these. I'd hate to drive that cart on a course with any dog leg fairways. I wonder which half of the dog the Stepfather beat to death?

If that dog wanted to maul the girl, it would have. Dogs intent on biting exercise more stealth during an attack. That dog was just growling and snapping.

Besides, if that dog was a biter, Shovel would have gotten his ass bit while going Chuck Norris.

OMG Rustor.....I guess I don't see how you can get that without being there to see it.

Maybe both Shovel and his FIL went overboard, maybe they didn't. But I don't think growling and snapping at my daughter would get even me to go 'Chuck Norris' on the dog. But if the dog bit my daughter, I too would kicked the everlovingshit out of it as well.

Guess I'm a hillbilly too.

Your granddaughter is about to get mauled by your dog, and I can see having some anger and rage coming into play.

And I guess you didn't read this part of the original post:

Stepdad walks over to a shelf and puts on a pair of leather gloves and grabs the rake. He chases this dog around the vehicles while I'm checking my daughter for any injuries (there were none luckily).

Dog makes a fatal mistake by going back into the garage and back into the golf cart. Now he's cornered. He beat that dog so badly I had to take my daughter into the house so she couldn't see it

Clearly the kid was safe at this point. What shovel did to protect his kid was understandable, but what Stepdaddy did was done with forethought and not done to protect the kid.

The poor old redneck had no reason at that point to beat that dog. Like you said, it would have been better to just put abullet in its head after they left. To take a rake to a dog that is no longer a threat is inhumane and criminal, and very well have traumatized the kid for years to come.
