edjr 6,578 Posted June 16, 2008 We almost always get a electric/gas cart. it's anywhere from 50 to 60 for 18. The course right next to where I live is like 5 bucks cheaper, because I live in the same city.
listen2me 23 1,831 Posted June 16, 2008 Tri-County? That's pricey for a course around here. Elkdale. $38 dollars is the weekend rate. It is $28 on weekdays. Consider it is only $1000 for a membership. I compare Elkdale to Tri-County in terms of quality. Moonbrook is most likely the best course south of the Buffalo courses. I will gaurentee Elkdale gets the most play of any course in Western NY.
kilroy69 1,218 Posted June 16, 2008 We have 32 golf courses in Jackson Co MI. We have more public golf courses per capita than any other city in the United States besides Sarasota, Florida. With that many courses they can't rape you for greens fees and I have never payed more than 30 bucks and thats with a cart.

listen2me 23 1,831 Posted June 16, 2008 To bad you only get to play 4 months out of the year. Yea here in Western NY we have half of April, May, June, July, August, September, and half of October. That is 6 months, so not that bad. And for the diehards you can play well into October and November. I've played in December before when it was snowing but no snow on the ground. Lionsjunkie 1 Posted June 16, 2008 I play year round "In-season" average is about $100 - 125 with a cart...off-season when the snowbirds get the hell outta here, same courses are between 25-60 for 18 with a cart...some of the best golfing around.

Yea. Where do you live? Buffalo? I mean it is as public as it gets, it has a lot of members but welcomes a lot of public play. If you wait to get a tee time you won't be able to get out from 7-12 on a weekend. Its hard to keep a course in as good of shape as it could be with that much play, but it still remains a quality course.

LOD01 198 Posted June 16, 2008 It's free in Western PA. May play a few rounds this week when I am up there vacationing. Haven't played there in like 20 years since I moved. http://www.buhlfarmpark.com/recreational/golf.htm Anyone else ever play there? It's an extreemly short 9 holes. All par 4's drivable. You feel like a pro. $25-30 here in Tampa area.

The Moz 69 Posted June 16, 2008 Usually play the folks CC ( private ) so I don't pay for it. Park Ridge CC. If I play by my house I play Aberdeen or Brassie which both run about 60 - 70 w/ cart. play them about 2-3 times a month.

MTSkiBum 1,620 Posted June 16, 2008 30-40 for 18 holes, walking. We have 4 courses and the 5th is currently being built. Pretty good for a montana town of around 40k people. My membership this season was 600 dollars, with no monthly green fees, or minimum amount of food that you have to buy. I dont ride in a cart unless it is required by the course. jackie sherrill 0 Posted June 16, 2008 In the Memphis area, most decent to good courses are $40-$60 with cart for 18 holes. I go on a golf trip to Gulf Shores, AL every year in April and the 4 courses we play are $65-$95 with cart for 18.

KSB2424 3,148 Posted June 16, 2008 Just a little :fuckyou: to all you people that walk on the crowded weekends just so you save a couple bucks. nospk 230 Posted June 16, 2008 I walk to get excercise you fockin lazy fatass. It also keeps you loose and you don't have to wait as much. What do you expect if you play on the crowded weekend anyways? It's gonna be slower.
KSB2424 3,148 Posted June 16, 2008 I walk to get excercise you fockin lazy fatass. I have found that people that walk when they play golf for exercise do it because that is the only kind of excercise they get. It somehow makes them feel better to say it that way. They are usually the fat mofos and golf is there way to say they excercise. In shape, fit people like myself play golf to.... you know....PLAY GOLF. Not stand on the tee box watching your fatass stroll down the fairway smoking a cigar. If you want to excercise get on a focking treadmill and off a crowded golf course holding everybody up. TIA Public Golf courses should make everybody use a cart on the weekends. Weekdays you can walk all you want. ETA: And one more thing. If I see one more dumbass break out his telescopic ball retriever and take 5 mutherfocking minutes fishing out a bunch of balls that are not even his out of a creek or pond while I am standing on the tee box I'm gonna put my bb gun in my golf bag and start lighting you up. Thanks for delaying my round an hour and not letting me get in any kind of groove. You bunch of tight mofos. I play in a foursome that if we walked 18 with no one a head of us we take a little under 4 hours. If we all had carts we only would play in 3 and 1/2 hours. Walking doesn't delay it as much as you think. Walking is slower getting to the ball but you all actually go to your ball, instead of driving all around. I usually walk if I play in the morning, and ride if I play in teh afternoon.

And the ones who spend forever looking for a lost ball. Or the guys who either think they are pros or are playing for too much money. You know the ones looking at the line of a putt from 7 angles. The problem with the amount of time it takes to play is that many players are not good with ready golf. I see people in carts that go to one guys ball and all 4 of them watch the guy hit. Then, they all go to the next guy's ball and they watch him hit. Rinse, repeat, and wait 5 hours for a round of golf.

Sure what you just mentioned happens, but 9 times out of 10 when we roll up and come to a complete bog down on a course it is becuase of a walking foursome.
