Sho Nuff 720 Posted December 28, 2009 Did anyone think GB would be in the playoffs 1 year after Favre left? This is a major step for a rebuilding franchise. I recall people bringing up what others did after Marino...Elway...and so on and wrote them off after last year and after the early struggles this year. Ted Thompson is not completely vindicated...but there was a nice article on him in the press gazette today about it...how you have to see the talent he has assembled on this team (with some obvious deficiencies too)...got to give him some credit here. Packers are improving..... I still think they are a year or two away.... But with NO sucking and the Vikes and Favre completely reeling, anything can happen... Rodgers has been amazing
Grateful Parrot 0 Posted December 29, 2009 Serious fantasy question here. Since GB has really nothing to play for this week except moving a seed up. Does MM play Rodgers and Jennings the whole game or spare the injuries for the future games?

donhaas 18 Posted December 29, 2009 Who ever plays will run a "vanilla" offense. Agreed..... It will be Rodgers, Kuhn, Travis Jervey, Chmura, Jordy Nelson, Billy Schroeder and possibly Paul Ott Carruth!

IMMensaMind 462 Posted December 29, 2009 how has romo folded? rodgers took a 13-3 team and went 6-10 with it. The only difference was the qb. take out favre and add in rodgers and the packers lost 7 more games. if that is not the definition of folding ........wow What hideously incompetent analysis. The defense had nothing to do with it? Rodgers is the first QB in history to throw for over 4000 yards in his first two starting years. His 3rd down QB rating is a phenomenal 134+. Wake up, Francis. PsychoBelichickFan 0 Posted December 29, 2009 Beat your Cowboys too.Talk about one and done in the playoffs...thats all your boys do...if they even get there this year. I would bet money on dallas winning if they played the pack again

Rodgers had 2 touchdowns that game.... Romo had 0 touchdowns, 84 yards, a fumble and an INT until garbagetime when they foolishly left him in to pad his stats since he had been so thoroughly dominated by the packer Defense and his psyche was crushed.... I really think it was dumb to have him in there throwing a touchdown pass with 20 seconds left down 17-0.... but I can understand how he and the whole Cowboys team was feeling emasculated..... Why are we talking about the Dallas Lions again? If we are talking about the Dallas Lions, shouldn't we be talking about other things that are relevant -- like Forrest Gump winning Best Picture, the Unabomber, and the OJ Simpson case.... God bless the mid-90s.... the last time the Dallas Lions were relevant

Get back to me...........the math is hard for this one........here is a hint...........it is Joe GladStone's IQ. You truly do represent Dallas fans quite well. It's time to put your money where your mouth is: I will bet you $1000 that if Green Bay plays Dallas in this year, that Green Bay wins that game. Dallas was embarrassed by Green Bay this year, and Green Bay is stronger now than then. Also: Aaron Rodgers made the Pro-Bowl this year - his 2nd full year. Where's Romo? Rodgers has also led Green Bay to a winning season this year - and if you want to try to build a case that a 4000 yard QB was the reason that the team didn't have a winning season last year , I'll laugh in your face like the rest of this forum obviously does on a daily basis. Begone, troll.

joelmrut 4 Posted January 4, 2010 not hard when 10 of your games are against bad teams like seattle, cleveland, chicago, detroit and other dog teams and Dallas' games against TB, Car, KC, Sea, Oak and Was were so much more difficult.
donhaas 18 Posted January 4, 2010 I could not be more happy about Aaron Rodgers play.... pulled after one series in the second half of the two last games and he was still 20 yards within the Packer single season QB record for yards... in only his second year! The future is very bright... What I like even more about this thread is that it justifies Brettolomeau Favre's play for all these years. All of the usual suspects who have been saying that he sucked, sucked, sucked (during his prime!) -- Vikings fans, Sweetness, Sampdog, etc. -- are now taking turns gargling his grey-haired 40-year-old nuts.... Something that never could have happened if he didn't come back. Better late than never, I say... and I think the old man, at the very least, deserves this golden-years stroke job from Viking, Bears, and Lions fan (and all the other haters).... You can go back to hating him and saying he sucks when he enters the HOF as a Packer and you are stuck with Tavaris, Stafford, and Cutler for the next decade..... but nobody is going to believe you with those grey pubic hairs still stuck in your teeth and nobody is going to take you seriously I call this thread: "Epic Fail! "
remote controller 143 Posted January 4, 2010 I got my wish, now the Pack have a Super Bowl to win. If the two teams face again, I hope the Packers win. I never hated on Rodgers, I just felt they should have worked on a few more Super Bowl runs starting 4 years ago and less on moving forward from a legend who can still play. Farve exacted his revenge I wanted in Lambeau, and the Packers regrouped and are now poised as the best team in the NFC. My apologies to the moron who is in love with Romo's a$$. The Boys' won't make it to the big game.

Honored in March 2008 in a vote of his peers as the 'George Young NFL Executive of the Year' by The Sporting News, Thompson left an undeniable stamp on the Packers' successful 2007 season. In just his third campaign as GM, he assembled a roster that was the youngest yet one of the most talented in the NFL, and the Packers went 13-3, won the NFC North Division title, and advanced to the NFC Championship Game for the first time in a decade. http://www.packers.com/team/staff/thompson_ted/

Favre has had the better year. He has out played Rodgers and beat the Packers twice. I have always contended he was the better QB, and would have lead any GM's team who knew what he was doing to at least 2 more Super Bowl games. Anything else you need to hear for the hundredth time? You could do one of those cute little things where you break down every sentence of a post and respond. That's always kinda neat!! or add smileys that make you think you are right or are proving something.
