Cutler requests to be traded.

Recommended Posts

If McDaniels was smart he would choose to run an offense catered to his players strengths, rather than forcing his own system on the players and trying to bring in his QB (Cassel) and his wussy arm to throw short and intermediate passes. Last I checked Randy Moss was not given a full opportunity to use his skills last year with weak-armed and slow-decision making Cassel throwing the rock.

How were Randy's skills used the year before?

Actually Cassel tended to overthrow Moss pretty regularly. I would partially agree on the decision making, though he did get better as the year progressed. And it's not like decision making is exactly Cutler's strongest suit either.

Seriously you're just babbling at this point. Neither the Steelers or Giants had particularly prolific offenses in their title years. To use them as a benchmark is stupid.

Yes, using the performance of a QB of an NFL championship team as your benchmark of a NFL QB is just plain "stupid".

Meant to say top half.

So being in the top half is "good"?? Man, they set the bar kind of low for you in school didn't they?

The ranking is irrelavent as other facors contribute to it. The Bears face 8 in the box on every down because of sh!t qb play. If they were 12th, that would be phenominal. A team with a good pass game can inflate the rushing rank because defences respect the pass.

Denver has crappy RBs and a mediocre line (Clady excepted) regardless of where they ranked.

Can't quite explain how it is that Manning's is a great QB but Cutler is merely a "good" QB - when INDY's O only scored one more TD than DEN did.

Hey, if you can suggest Jay Cutler is a great QB, I figure there is no bar.

I notice that while parsing most of my posts here, to the point of wanting to split hairs over adjectives, you completely skipped over the fact that Cutler was one of the single worst rated QBs inside the opponents' Redzone. Convenient that.

now I remember why I left this forum. Well done.

Because you were tired of making ridiculous posts?

Comparing McDaniels entertaining the thought of Cassell to playing Madden is supremely foolish..

The Browns, Vikes and Detriot should give away this year's entire draft to get him.

The same way the giants went all out for Eli, Cutler should warrant the same type of respect.

If Detroit had drafted him, he would be a joke of a player by this point.

Cutler is a whiny puzzy. Is he seriously upset that the Broncos haven't shown him loyalty? It's a focking business--they will do whatever they need to do to improve the team, and if that means trading Cutler then that's just the way it is. Cutler needs to get over himself immediately.

if you found out your boss was trying to replace you, and that your days were numbered, and that other businesses

would pay big $ for you...you wouldn't want to leave? everybody else would. It's a business from the players' perspective too

Is that before or after you wanted to leave in the first place because your first boss was let go?

Every ranking has a number of contributing factors. So I guess every ranking is irrelevant.

sounds like he could read the writing on the wall early on. That's an even better business decision. Even more a

compliment to Cutler that he could see this coming. Thanks for the link!

So he could see the writing on the wall that the team somehow did not want him when they fired Shanny and Bates? Wanted out...but then cried when they even explored letting him out?

Look, the Broncos have focked this up big time too...but come on people...

well well we finally get the story and are catching the Broncos in a lie...oh I mean promise broken...oh I mean spin. :dunno:

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3995461

Jay Cutler's agent says his client's relationship with the Denver Broncos disintegrated after the firing of coach Mike Shanahan and a broken promise that Shanahan's offensive staff would largely remain intact, according to a report on NFL.com.

Bus Cook told the Web site that Cutler met with Broncos owner Pat Bowlen shortly after Shanahan was fired on Dec. 30 to express his concerns.

"Jay was disappointed in the firing of Mike Shanahan and met with the owner. The owner assured him everything would be fine. The owner said he had the second-best offense in football and would leave the offensive staff intact. Jay was good with that. Then he hires an offensive coach who gets rid of the staff," Cook told NFL.com.

New Broncos coach Josh McDaniels overhauled the offensive staff after his arrival.

Bowlen, however, says he doesn't remember having the conversation with Cutler that Cook references.

"I really have had no discussion with Jay or the agent. Mike was fired right after the season. At that point, there was no need to have a discussion with Jay. Now, actually, to be fair, I don't think I had that discussion. I don't recall it. I know I'm getting up there in age, and I am not sure of that discussion," Bowlen told NFL.com.

Cutler doesn't have any right to say who does, or doesn't remain on the coaching staff. That said, Bowlen doesn't sound to convincing about not having this discussion with Cutler when he starts talking about his old age and simply "not recalling" the conversation.

That's the type of thing you say when you do remember it, but you'd rather not acknowledge it.

I forgot that Mike deleted some of my posts that were in response to some of the crap that wiffle posted. I asked him to delete the original misleading posts that I was responding to, but it fell on deaf ears and wasn't worth bringing back up. For instance the suppposed downgrading from "good" to "mediocre" never happened. In one case I was talking about their scoring offense and in the other their running game. That was just some creative editing by wiffleball.

I did write top quarter instead of half. That was a big fockup on my part.

I said you suggested he is by comparing to him to Manning. I'm still not sure where that came from because I never said one focking word about Manning until you brought him up. Even so, I did explain it, Manning has a body of work well beyond this year that clearly demonstrates that he is one of the greatest QBs ever to play the game. Cutler has nothing close to that kind of resume. Maybe you should wait for Jay Cutler to lead the league in one meaningful stat before you start comparing him to Manning.

Yeah, he was the best at converting 3rd downs with the pass. He also was ahead of Cutler in most statistics other than yards. Better rating, better completion percentage, more Tds, 6 fewer picks, MUCH better redzone rating. Of course it helped that Cutler was horrid in the redzone.

It was a joke. :)

I hope you're just fishing at this point. I'll see you on the geek bored. You're about insufferable here.
