Joey Gladstone 33 Posted April 25, 2009 I wasnt even considering him. I thought he'd be gone in the top 3 for sure!
Gepetto 1,368 Posted April 25, 2009 Stafford looks like a tard. I'm glad he's already off the board. I'm suprised you say that. I think Stafford looks alot likeJoey Gladstone. (pics). Stafford (pic)
phillybear 366 Posted April 25, 2009 Nice grab. This could change phillybear forever! Are you serious? We haven't even reached the second round yet. By the end of the day, I might hop a plane to Seattle so I can waterboard Ruskell's wife, kids, pets, and furniture.

phillybear 366 Posted April 25, 2009 Cleveland just traded down. I wonder what they got. I'm sure Seattle got a similar offer, but they took Curry. Which I have no problem with whatsoever. But what did Seattle pass on? Announce this trade already, Roger Smegma.

phillybear 366 Posted April 25, 2009 Did Cleveland really get all that much with that trade? A 1st, a 2nd, and some players. Yuck. I'm glad Seattle didn't bite on that package.

phillybear 366 Posted April 25, 2009 I wonder who Ruskell would have taken if Peterson was still on this team? Hmm.
Chasers Dawg 9 Posted April 25, 2009 I wonder who Ruskell would have taken if Peterson was still on this team? Hmm. Probably a different defensive player. With all the defensive players that idiot has selected in the 1st 3 rounds during his 4 years (now 5) Seattle should have the best Defense in the history of the NFL. Instead what have we got ........ phillybear 366 Posted April 25, 2009 Um, is it too early to hope. Chris Beanie Wells RB. Also, interesting how a few other players have dropped, in areas that may or may not be need areas. Everette Brown DE. Eben Britton OT. and others.
phillybear 366 Posted April 25, 2009 The more I think about it, the more my head hurts. I am not specifically targeting any players or positions. Just give me a value pick. Something that makes sense, that isn't a huge reach. Sigh. It won't happen. We are about to draft a punter.

I expect some type of reach in round 2 Britton or Beatty would be huge Yeah, I feel a reach coming up too. Britton and Beatty are the two best OT left, but I'm not so sure that is the position I would go after. Britton would be value,. Beatty would be OK for that draft spot, but I don't know. I would feel better trading down. I can't quite put my finger on why I feel so uncomfortable with this next pick. I think we are about to do something stupid. And this is like having a later first round pick.
phillybear 366 Posted April 25, 2009 I like Unger. I would have no problem with that pick at that spot.
phillybear 366 Posted April 25, 2009 The best player available is Everette Brown DE. For what it's worth. On the clock. Commercial break. MOTHER FOCKER>

mahoney 9 Posted April 26, 2009 Trade down. The Broncos play the AFC North and NFC East in addition to San Diego twice, at Indy and host New England...potentially a 10 loss season. The Seahawks get their first round pick next year

mahoney 9 Posted April 26, 2009 What was the trade? Maybe they traded the Bears 1st round pick instead of their own? I'm confused: http://blog.seattletimes.nwsource.com/seah...wks_traded.html Update: The Broncos have two first-round picks, theirs and the one belonging to Chicago. Seattle acquired the first-round pick that belongs to Denver. or http://www.denverpost.com/broncos/ci_12228231 McDaniels dealt the 2010 first-round pick obtained from Chicago in the Jay Cutler deal to nab Alphonso Smith, an all-American cornerback from Wake Forest, at No. 37. phillybear 366 Posted April 26, 2009 phillybear must be jacking off right now. I think I broke my wrist. I typed this with my nose. We are having a near perfect draft as far as I'm concerned. I am very uncomfortable with that.

Walter34 3 Posted April 26, 2009 I am still confused by the trade details. We got a 1st for a 2nd. That's all I know. pretty sure its the Bears 1st round pick. The Broncos look like theirs would be top 10, so Denver was better to keep their own.

Kopy 570 Posted April 26, 2009 Been out for awhile. The deal was our second for Denver's first next year. Then our third and fourth this year, for Chicago's second this year. When you break it down, it's like us giving our third and fourth this year for Denver's first next year, because we were still able to draft Unger. I feel like we stole that pick.
Joey Gladstone 33 Posted April 26, 2009 Wow! I would have been happy just taking Unger at 2.4! So we come out of the 2nd with Unger AND whats more then likely a top 10 pick next year!!!! ANNNNND we took the best player in the draft in the first!?!?!?!!?!?!?!?!?!?!??! On the flipside, Denver trades their high pick next year to move up and take a guy that's not even 5'10".......between that and the Cutler fiasco I don't see the McDaniels era going very well. Elway/TD seems like it was 25 years ago.

Seattle was most definately not offered that package from the Jets. It is a package of old Mangini players. The Jets may have offered the Seahwaks something or they may have only been in talks with the Browns incase Sanchez slipped past Seattle which is my guess. The Jets basically baited Mangini with some players he likes and gave up a 2nd and some bench guys for Sanchez. also Seattle had a very good first day.. very good... congrats
Kopy 570 Posted April 26, 2009 Just heard on NFL network the Hawks removed the franchise tag from Leroy Hill making him a free agent. At risk of a homer bashing I might get. I'll tell you that I won't lose any sleep over this move, and in fact I applaud it. 6 years 36 million wasn't good enough for him. Neither was signing a franchise tag. He was the only guy who didn't even show up to camp a couple weeks ago. The need to keep him was there; until a better player fell into our lap yesterday. The money freed up is huge, and I have no problem with DD Lewis starting for us. Don't forget, he was the one who started at LB during our super bowl run, and with 2 studs next to him, he'll be fine. We could even still bring in another veteran or even resign hill if his market is dry (however I think the bad blood is there now). Another great move IMO. Can't wait for day 2.
