The 12 Apostles of Christ carried swords. Peter even defended Christ with his sword in the garden, when the Romans came to take him away.

The Apostles were armed and dangerous, they were protecting their King.

You don't know crap about Christianity you idiot.

I know that one of the ten commandments that god personally gave to Moses (Exodus 20:2–17) is "You shall not murder." I know how good you fairytale worshiping tards are at choosing whatever little snippet of your silly book backs your agenda though. I will hold it against you... Religion and intelligence have always been like oil and water.

Independence > Interdependence

Aren't you like 16 or 17 anyways? What the fock do you know about any of this? Stick to advice on MW2 perks and driving with your hands at 10 and 2.

Congratulations. You just passed up edjr as the most selfish fock on the bored. You should be so proud.

Enjoy you vacation. Been there and done that. Now I'm looking for more from life than that.

Oh I'm so selfish because I don't need to wipe a miniature humans ass to get "more from life". There's so much more than life than just living and learning, as you travel down whichever path you choose. Thank you for showing me that you can only REALLY get more from life if you tote around a little parasite for 18 years. You think I can get even MORE from life if I wander around the desert with Savage Beast for 40 years, like Moses? You're pure jokes man. Thick as a brick, but jokes none the less.

Way to steal my thunder Ed. I cant drink for two whole weeks and you have to pick that same day to announce your abortion. Way to go. Thanks.

What ? No I'm not irratable.

That and Good Luck with her and the future with her - if there is one. Also enjoy a  that I cant.

Personally I did the party/travel/getting shitfaced/sleeping around scene until I was 30. Like most things it got old and I was looking for more. But that is just me.

That's kind of what i plan on. Maybe settle down and get married in my early 30's. Travel with the wife for 3 or 4 years, then have a couple of kids in mid to late 30's. Once I get into my 40's, i kind of want to be pretty settled and enjoy the kids. I'm sure something could come along to change my plans big time but that's what i have always thought. Some people get married too young IMO. In my case, I will have a lot of work/education pressures that will last until I am in my early 30's.

Question for you. When you are too old to take care of yourself, who is going to wipe your ass?

Dear Mike(s),

I would formally like to suggest we get at least one new emoticon. Since the deletion of the :sadbanana: there has been a void to express true sadness. Thus, if it is at all possible, could we please get an emoticon of a fetus that has a sad face on it. It can be called:

:ed3:

Whatcha think?

there used to be a sadbanana? why was it removed?

You should ask people with kids the same question because in most cases the kids won't be taking care of the parents.

What ever happened to good God fearing men.

You're afraid of god (not capitalized on purpose - sux it god) and I'm not.

So, who's the coward.

Haha I know right... he acts like we're in India, China, or somewhere with actual values. We're Americans... we kick our kids out when they turn 18, they kick us out when we turn 70.

You are correct. Thou shalt not murder(רָצַח in Hebrew) is the 6th commandment.

Taking innocent life is murder.

Killing a man or men while defending innocent men, women, and children is not murder.

It's called WAR. And God has sent his people to war over the last 5000 years according to scripture.

So you would be wrong about saying Christians believe it's ok to murder, we strictly prohibit murder.

But if you take up arms to kill murder innocent women, children, or other men with guile, then you are subject to death according to scripture (Ex 21:14).

I don't give a shiot if you want/have kids, it is your call, and frankly I applaud you and your wife for making the decision you feel is best for you vs. driving down to the neighborhood baby killing facility to end an inconvenient life. But it seems that you started the righteous indignation in this thread regarding the decision to have kids.

We learned today that my FIL had a stroke, not sure of the severity. My wife is already working on plans to go help her mom if necessary. I think you underestimate the willingness of children to help their parents.

Yeah, because I said that is the only reason to have kids.

I would sit here and argue more about the subject, but I am going to my son's soccer banquet. It's at an indoor water park with a bar. I'll be doing shots with the hottie soccer moms while you are watching MTV.....alone.

Then tomorrow I get to go to my son's soccer game and watch him dominate his peers. It feels great to watch my kid succeed.

Enjoy your solitude

Yep is she going to move in with her mom and leave you and the children? Or is it more likely dad will end up in a home when his wife can no longer take care of him?

No, she wouldn't move in, and in the end he would go to a home if necessary because he was smart enough to get good insurance. She would go help in the near-term, and/or transition if it gets to that point. Also my mom lived with us for 8 months going through chemo, we thought it would be until hospice/death, but she survived. She now lives in an independent living place near my brother, who goes over often to help her (she is legally blind, and frankly not all there).

My point was that kids help their parents; good kids anyway. What was your point? :dunno:

No, I pointed out that EdJr made probably the best decision of his life, since him and his new girlfriend were in no position to bring a child into the world. That got the pro-lifers vaginas gushing.

Yeah, because I said that is the only reason to have kids. :overhead:

I'd rather watch MTV than go to a water park filled with screaming kids and their equally annoying parents, talking about "how great they are". Borrrriiiinnnnnnnggggggggggg. Take them to applebee's on your way home too. Just don't bring them to Ruth's Chris or Fleming's, where us grown-ups have dinner.

you're actually making a good case for not having kids. I mean really... An indoor water park bar soccer banquet? over going to a real bar with no kids screaming or going to a real nightclub and seeing a live band or watching sports at a sports bar with the guys? I want kids eventually but i'm not looking forward to soccer moms and places where there are tons and tons of little kids. My sister had a birthday party for one of her kids at chuckie cheese. I couldn't focken believe that place. It was an awful experience.

I don't have a dog in the fight, and also have experienced both ends of the debate. The highs you experience as a parent verse the highs you receive getting sh!tfaced at some bar in Hawaii, or shmoozing it up with some other upitty high rollers, or traveling to god knows where do not even compare...imo. I'll take watching my children play soccer on a Sat. afternoon and having a "lame" team bbq over any vacation you could throw at me.

Although I agree, the day it is happening is not all that fun, but the memories created for your children are priceless. You'll appreciate those awful experiences as you get older.

God had a great plan with the kid thing... you get them as babies and grow into things like Chuck E Cheese. Throwing a 20+ yr old into that environment, with no training, is a disaster. I don't doubt your experience was horrific. :overhead:

On the other hand, an indoor water park with a bar and soccer moms? That's beautiful. :overhead: Here's a tip: by that kids' age we largely ignore them at such events, unless they are bleeding profusely, on fire, etc. Drinks, MILFs in bikinis, no pressure to close any deals since you are married... you'll learn to see the value. :dunno:

35 and clipped (married for 10 years). Got clipped about 5 years ago, so the wife could stop taking the pill. You have fun totting your little brats around Disneyland while my wife and I are getting sh!tfaced in Amsterdam or The Bahamas.

Actually... I think the wife an I will head out to Palm Springs for the weekend. I'll play a little golf, while she enjoys the spa. I'd ask you to join, but I'm sure you're pretty busy being a human taxi and "saving for the annual family vacation".

So wrong yet so funny :dunno:

I remember that part.

Then Froto put the ring on his finger and disappeared. And Gandalf came back to life, and was more powerful as Gandalf The White. And how about the trick that Schmegel pulled when he lured poor Froto into the Spider nest?

Great stories. :dunno:

I respect that maybe kids are not for you.

But I will have fun taking my kids to Disney this year...love it. Love seeing their faces and no amount of drinking can top the smiles on their faces. EVER.

Ive done my drinking...done my trips...and still do some if family is watching the kids.

There has been no greater part of my life then being a father and watching my wife be a mother. Completly and totally fulfilling.

Abortion should not be a poiltical football. It is a private decision. The only thing that should not happen is letting a private decision become a public debt.

I have no idea what I would have done years ago if I would have been in a situation like this . Had I gotten some gal pregnant or had my daughter become pregnant in Highschool. I just don't know what I would have done, so there is NO WAY I will judge those who have to make that decision.

I'm not here to comment on whether or not it is right to choose to have kids or to decide not to... I really don't care. If you want them, and want to deal with it, that's fine. And if you don't want them, then go get snipped... it's pretty straight forward and not difficult to do.

But Edjr... let's not go running around and pretending this was the best decision. You really don't know, and your unborn child never got a say in the matter. There are many people who grow up from crappy situations such as that and make something of themselves, and many that don't, but somewhere, I miss the point on why it is that you have the arrogance and audacity to make that type of decision for them. This wasn't an ectopic pregnancy where your girlfriend's life was in danger and the child would not survive. This was a "I really dont' want this and I'm going to use a high risk pregnancy as an excuse to get rid of it." type decision, and there's a dead soul that now stands in permanent testimony of that fact... and worse yet, it cannot come back. That little child will haunt you and your girlfriend for the rest of your lives. I can pretty much guarantee that.

You can mock savage beast for being an armed Bible thumper all you want, but he made one point that stands true. Your act was cowardly. Instead of facing up to your responsibility and giving the kid a chance, you chose to kill him/her instead, and what you fail to realize is that the easy decision may have provided you some instant relief, but you will soon find out that it will cost you far more than a $15 copay.

If you need a shoulder to cry on, PM me. I just pray that through this you and your girlfriend find God and that He shows you more mercy than what you just showed your child.

That's a crock of sh!t.

I have no problem with your opinion, as long as you realize that it's all that it was. But I'm quite sure that in a few months or years, when there's a good chance that both Edjr and his girlfriend have gone on with their lives, that they'll rarely give this 'mistake' a thought. And I'm sure they'll both agree that they made the right choice.

I don't know exactly why - and I'm an abortion opponent - but something tells me this child was not meant to be, and I'm going to accept it as such. Yeah, I'm disappointed, and I would have taken the thing, but it is what it is.
