I just got a letter from the

Recommended Posts

Informing me that I would be getting a census in a week or so. Now, my question is why in the fock did they spend money to send me a letter telling me I was going to get a letter. Add to the fact that neither the envelope or the letter is printed on recycled paper they are killing trees for fun.

because its cheaper to send two letters to make sure you send in the form than it is to send someone to your door?

Or or or or...........they could just send the focking census and let me fill it out while chopping out the needless paper. Just a thought.

Would it have been better if they sent it on rolling paper?

No wonder our country is broke. Wonder how many households their are in America. 100 million maybe. 44 cents a stamp and that is like 44 million in just stamps. Just to tell us we are getting a letter in a week.

I'm guessing the US Government has a deal with the US Postal Service, since they own them and all.

Yer mail must be pretty slow. I got that notice about 2 weeks ago and got the official census in the mail today.

Why is there such a big deal about filling this out? :bandana:

I have more of a problem with the stupid warning in advance than the census.

I'm sure they did, but there are fixed costs that they're eating, hence the waste of money.

I had to stop here. This 'deal' would be like you and your wife, if you have one, agreeing to split the cost

the next time you fill your gas tank, then each using your own credit card from the same account.

What the other Frank said. It's all about response rate for them and if sending you letter before hand makes it more likely you'll fill the thing out, then it saves them money by not having to send out a person. My guess is they don't send out a letter to everyone though which may mean you're getting a long form. Good luck.

Got the same letter.

Then I got the census

And today I got a letter saying I should have received the census already.

Brought to you by the Department of Redundancy Department.

I mailed my census out today. Do you think I should write a letter letting them know that I mailed it back?

It's not the government. It's just SUX going to elaborate measures to obtain personal information on all Geeks, including phone numbers. Be afraid.

U.S. Census and the exenditures associated with it are required by law, going back for decades. So believe it or not, it has absolutely nothing to do with the current administration.

Mailed mine today and noticed that it was postage paid. So there is even more money. We are up to like 4 stamps per household.
