Could a Favre suspension happen?

Recommended Posts

I think that if they found out there was inappropriate behavior by Favre, it could qualify as sexual harassment towards an NFL employee... What're the chances that Goodell lays down the law somehow?

Favre is a first time offender.

I expect the Commish would have to impose some kind of suspension. :dunno:

Favre has had several opportunities to deny the allegations and has not. I think a suspension is a virtual certainty. Two other women have come forward, and it wouldn't be surprising if more unsavory stories emerge.

That Deadspin photo would be a great new logo for the Vikings, a team that has always come up a little short.

So flirty texts and voice mails to someone in the same organization as you can get you suspended?

I haven't followed the story, but from what I have heard it's not as if he blackmailed these woman, threatened their jobs, etc. He just flirted and got denied. Right?

if his advances were reciprocated then that = no suspension, just a divorce.

if his advances were unwanted then that = sexual harassment (he could be perceived as someone with hire/fire capacity in the organization) = someone is getting a settlement + 4 game suspension b/c thats what rothlisberger got + divorce

A suspension may be the best thing that could happen to the Vikings right now

Since Rapesburger was innocent of all crimes, yet got suspended, it is ridiculous to think that any player is safe from the whims of an idiot commissioner who is firm believer of innuendo, rumor, and shenanigans.

The NFL. The punishment always exceeds the crime, even when there was no crime. The next time a player spikes a ball, guillotines will be erected faster than the time it takes to pull up the netting before an extra point.

Rothlesberger's suspension was probably the biggest stand the NFL has ever taken against a player with no criminal charges. Some suspensions without charges are understandable... slandering NFL, betting, etc., but "impropriety accusations" seemed like a stretch.

But the Commish did it to Ben, so if he's consistent he'll suspend Favre too. Although Favre isn't going to be in the league as long as Ben and he is a legendary 1st ballot HOF QB. Who knows, that might make the difference.

I know you are slow, you're a packer fan after all...but, I challenge you to find one single post where I say anything positive about that former packer retard of a QB.

Cant these focking whores just stop with their allegations? I bet 99% of sexual harrassment cases are PURE BS. Ya ever notice that harrassment cases never get brought against any poor men or non-famous men? Its always against wealthy, high profile men.

Its just gold-digging, useless sluts trying to make a quick buck. They act like porn-skanks and then get upset when guys make the inevitable advance on them.

Stoopid crap.

First of all, it is plain as day that something happened with Favre and Sterger. If it was all just made up, Favre would have come out and said "Yeah, that's a bunch of hogwash." But instead he has ducked and dodged every time he is asked about it. I'm inclined the believe that Favre isn't so stupid as to send pictures of his jimmy to some chick that caught his eye. But he's clearly got something to hide. It may very well be that the voice mails are really him, but the other stuff is made up and/or not him.

Now, as it pertains to the NFL and a possible suspension, I think it will really depend on whether Jen and/or other women actually come out and say something about all this. Because if a player trying to score with a good-looking woman is now punishable by the NFL, then Mr. Goddell better hire some more assistants - he is going to have a lot of investigations on his hands. Yes, it is sketchy and dissapointing and sad for a married father to chase around women 15 years younger, but the NFL needs to be careful about how far into their player's sex lives they want to delve.

If Jen or other women come out with a whole story that paints a picture of harrassment, stalking, or whatever, then it is a different story. But for the moment I think Brett's public reputation and sponsorship deals are more at stake (think Tiger Woods), than any missed playing time.

If a poor or non-famous person is sued for ANYTHING, would you hear about it? Your argument and your made-up statistics are total garbage.

Has this Stergen lady filed some sort of harrasment suit or filed police charges or something? If not, then why the hell would Roger Goodell's care about Brett Favre twig and berries?

Because she was a Jets employee at the time. This brings NFL HR policies into play and I'm sure, like every other major corporation, they have strict sexual harassment policies. If she's just some random playmate he contacted I'm pretty sure the NFL wouldn't be overly concerned, but because she was in the employ of an NFL team at the time it forces them to investigate.

Because Goodell wants the NFL to be a 100% queer league. And it's well on it's way.

Yeah, I guess this is the main point about why they are sort of forced to "investigate". But it still seems like the NFL would need Jen to come out and demonstrate that she pushed back in some way, telling Favre the advances were unwelcome, etc. She obviously didn't communicate any sort of greivance through official channels at the time or all this would have come out sooner. But if she's not interested in talking to the NFL now (or the public for that matter), then the whole thing is going to go nowhere. This is probably why Favre is being so mum - he knows there's a chance Jen never wants to tell her side, in which case he can skate by on "I don't want to talk about it" until reporters get tired of asking. His public reputation would still take a beating, but he wouldn't miss any games or be fined.

Wrong.

Phil Jackson was focking the Lakers owners daughter who worked for the Lakers for crying out loud. I think they damn near eventually got married or something. It's not against any HR policy for two consenting adults to have sex let alone "sext". What is wrong is when it is done in a harrassing fashion. That would mean the woman would have to file a charge or actually speak about it saying that was part of it.

Unless that has happened then the only person that should be pissed is Brett Favre's wife. The NFL and Roger Goodell just like to flash their badge at any and everything. Goodell is like that 5 foot nothing cop who has a napolean complex and wants to arrest everybody in sight while puffing out his chest.
