IBL Final Standings

Recommended Posts

It's over. The journey begun back in July, with 8 drafts, 8 internet fantasy football boards, 96 owners, in one of the most competitive formats in fantasy football has now come to its completion. 1276 games later, the final tally is in.

FFToday is the Champion!!!

After a season in 2009 of the worst kind of futility, 2010 has proven to be a rebound year, and FFToday has taken back the crown!!! Credit to our competitors for a great year! Sports Outlaw came from the middle of the pack to surge within a breath of FFT, taking the lead for one week in the playoffs. But your FFToday squad gritted through, bouncing back with the best week of the playoffs - by any board - to retake the lead . . . a lead that would be just enough to hang on through a tough final week, finishing off the closest finish in my memory. The final standings are below. If anyone wants more detailed breakdown, just ask.

FFToday................887 points

Sports Outlaw..........879.5 points

Huddle.................798.5 points

Football Guys..........793 points

FF Livewire............763.5 points

FF Guru................717.5 points

Fantasy Sharks.........644 points

FF Cafe................627.5 points

Special recognition to Cuse9, who finished at 84-23, the best overall record in the league. He finished second in the battle for the individual crown (to the Huddle's WashingtonD), which is determined by playoff record in the top tier. He finished with 17 wins (out of 23) in crunch time against the toughest competition. WashingtonD finished with 18 wins.

Also, special thanks to Stewburtx8, who stepped in at the last minute to take over a spot, literally the day before the draft.

Wow. Good job, guys. I figured you were screwed when Sidney Rice got hurt since you owned him just about everywhere.

No kidding, huh? Lot of attention, work, and rallying to keep at it during that. Add into this that we have four copies of Andre Johnson, whom we lost for the last and very critical week of the playoffs.

We had some outstanding performances from the guys on the board, including very nice 5-0 weeks in week 16 by Vikings4Ever and Franknbeans in the Top Tier. EVERY win was critical, and this was clearly a team effort.

way to go fellas! Now where is Jerry's Kids?

I'm guessing he'll come around at some point. He himself had a very good year, and really surged in the second half. Livewire, as a whole, slipped a bit in the last part of the season, and were not their customary selves.

Congrats to FFT; after that slow start you guys were the most consistent week in and out.

I dunno what happened to us overall. We did have one guy just quit on us, but Rock Hard took over his island of misfit toys and worked it admirably. Guess we'll have to lick our wounds and come back stronger next year.

I said in the beginning that my fortunes would ride on Bowe, and they pretty much did (well, he and MJD). At least I beat Me_20XX the last week, so it is all good. :overhead:

Here, here, well done FFToday!

After a bad Week 1 you guys really pounded your way the rest of the season and playoffs.

Also FFT'ers, know that your victory was accomplished with having Dan take over as the Rookie Head IBL Commish! Add that to his plate as well as performing waivers EVERY Week for up to 96 teams before carrying on with his personal and professional life!

Outstanding Dan!!!

Thanks very much man.

Now, let's go. First rounds on me Champs.

We had a solid team and solid strategy this year, it was a true team effort. Big thanks goes out to Dan and Fumble as I am well aware of the effort put forth and without whom the ultimate victory may not have been possible.

It starts at the top. Dan, you and Fumble would never allow yourselves to take credit for it, but you're the reason we won this thing. So many weeks Fumble changed lineups at the last minute, you were always crunching numbers and keeping guys involved and searching the wire. Total team effort, but the leadership was superb.

On a personal note, great group of guys. I hope to see everyone back for our run at the repeat next season.

CONGRATS BOYS. Back where we belong.

This was only my second season in the IBL but the level of teamwork i saw on this years squad was incredible. There seemed to be a genuine camaraderie. And I cant say enough about the job Dan did. Taking over as head IBL commish and still putting so much work into his own team and as a leader of FFToday. And ditto for Fumble who stepped up as active team commish.

The rest of the boards can kiss our ass. Afterall, it's what they're looking up at  (c'mon, someone had to say it :P )

This does not tell the full story of how much these guys did or contributed . . . but these are the raw numbers. It doesn't show guys adjusting their draft strategy so that a teammate could get in for the perfect fit for his team. It doesn't talk about KSB and Kilroy pinning hot names for the waiver wire every week. It doesn't show Fumbleweed's faithful check of everyone's roster. It doesn't show Stewburtx8 texting me Monday evening because Adrian Peterson was out. Watching each other's backs, picking up slack, and working with each other. When RLLD calls this a total team effort, know that it is exactly that.

That said, there is nothing to be ashamed of with these numbers.

Your FFToday team:

Cuse9 - 84-23, 17 playoff wins (tier 1)

Unpossibles - 79-25, 16 playoff wins (tier 1)

Ray Lewis' Limo Driver - 68-39, 8 playoff wins (tier 1)

Franknbeans - 65-42, 11 playoff wins (tier 1)

KSB2424 - 63-44, 12 playoff wins (tier 1)

Me_2010 - 63-44, 10 playoff wins (tier 1)

Fumbleweeds - 52-55, 13 playoff wins (tier 3)

White Wonder - 51-56, 12 playoff wins (tier 3)

Kilroy - 50-57, 10 playoff wins (tier 3)

Dan - 48-59, 14 playoff wins (tier 3)

Stewburtx8 - 43-59, 9 playoff wins (tier 3)

9-route - 43-59, 15 playoff wins (tier 4)

"After a season in 2009 of the worst kind of futility" as a player last year, or was it 2008?....I resent this remark!

Just kiddin'

Wow....Congratulations are in order Team FFToday on a job well done!!

Mike needs to take you all out for a beer now, and he buys!

Bragging rights for a year........let's see some bragging then. This is hard, and you guys deserve a large CONGRATULATIONS as I know how hard this league is.

WOW!@#! I can't believe it (remember to act surprised). First of all, I'd like to thank all the other fantasy boards in the IBL. Without them overlooking talent throughout the draft and season we wouldn't have been able to pull this off. I'd like to thank my parents for bestowing me with an interest in football. More importantly, I have to thank that big guy upstairs for blessing me with all of the tools necessary to help FFToday run through this league like Carney Wilson at the Golden Corral Buffet. Lastly and most importantly, I'd like to thank myself. My perseverance and determination really inspired myself for future endeavors :looks into audience stoically:. Henry Ford was considered crazy for dreaming to invent a car. :winks at last place team:. Now we join the ranks of other American greats :flashes championship ring:. Welp, It's only 8 months until next season starts. I better get back to the bat cave and sart looking at college game film of the 2011 rookie RB class. Oh...and one more thing. The fans. Thanks to all the fans! :points to balcony:. Good night and God bless.

Awesome job guys! And special thanks to Dan and Fumbleweed for leading the charge!

Further proof that this is EASILY the best FF bored on the interwebs. I signed up here 4 years ago because I didn't know anything about FF but wanted to try it and this was the first google result. Whatever I know about FF, I learned here since then. In fact, 3 teams in the top tier benched Stephen Davis this week, ultimately leading to our victory.

I'd settle for a FFToday T-shirt...

What say ye Mike?

Seriously guys, a job well done all around and without the selfless acts of a lot of our team owners, we're likely not taking home the Championship. Hell of a job recovering from our 5 copies of Sidney Rice (thank you Bowe and Stevie Johnson). From worst to first!

Truth be told, I'm never around in late July when the drafts kick off, and you did a terrific job during the draft process acting as the leader of the team, Ray. So, hats off to you for that. You really got the process off to a great start this season.

I don't know that we will have any openings for 2011, but in case we do it would be great to hear from anyone interested in potentially participating or being a stand by-
