phillybear 366 Posted August 2, 2013 Is that so? LOLOL Your brother, phillybear, brought it up on the last page. Here's a reminder: "Plus, you couldn't avoid watching them during the Super Bowl screw job." It's ALWAYS one of you bitter pussies who bring that up. To the fans of the other 31 teams, it's a non-issue. MOVE ON. You sound sad and pathetic. So, if a Seahawk fan brings it up, in a Seahawks thread, mind you, then you go and spend page after page after page arguing about it. If it's a non issue to fans of other teams, who exactly is not MOVING ON? How about you move on in front of a commuter train. You have brought a whole cavalcade of idiocy today. Kudos. Sho Nuff 720 Posted August 2, 2013 No when melon heads like you get pummeled you all pivot toSB XL. It's your go to move but we now have verification from the head ref in charge that we got hosed and more importantly we now have the most exciting team in the NFL! It must suck watching the racist igiggles week in and week out. Oh we'll it sucks to be you! First off...you have never...and I mean NEVER...pummeled anyone. As for bringing up the SB...I don't believe it was Newbie or me doing it. Over and over and over its people like you and a few other crying Hawk fans that bring it up. Sho Nuff 720 Posted August 2, 2013 This is just utter pablum. Foreign interlopers with rather low intelligence have invaded the Seattle Seahawks thread and turned it into dismal mush, like the squawking pigs on the View. I'd pay some good money for a pressure cooker right about now. The topic was already dismal mush the minute it was started by Mr Rah Rah (the king of low intelligence). phillybear 366 Posted August 2, 2013 You seem to have forgotten bits of the past. As a fan base on this site, the Seattle contingent had been small but vocal going back 10+ years. We mostly kept to ourselves in our own threads. As time passed, more Seattle fans came onboard and our team threads grew in size and activity. Still, we mostly kept to ourselves. During the Seattle Super Bowl run of 2005-06, the fans were left with nowhere to go since Latin Pimp knocked out this site from early December 2005 to mid March 2006, so you couldn't even accuse Seattle fans of being insufferable even then. It was the fans of other teams that decided to descend into our thread and start sh!t. Over and over and over again. Maybe it was because our threads had so many more posts than other threads, so people were checking them out for an explanation. And the usual idiots like Sweetness_34 would post his nonsense in our threads more than in any Chicago threads. So, we would fight back. That has spilled over into other threads in today's world. Believe me, we didn't start the war; we were firing back. To this day, fans of other teams will spend much more time in our threads than anywhere else on the Mange Bored. Visitors are welcome, and most of us are willing to have rational conversations. But when an attack is made, it causes a reaction. It's just the way it is. Like wearing a visiting team's colors into a rival's stadium. Hey, you don't know what will happen, but don't expect rainbows and lollipops. Hey, I remember when I posted this on Page One, a week ago.

NewbieJr 541 Posted August 2, 2013 Hey, I remember when I posted this on Page One, a week ago. Good for the goose, good for the gander. If the Seahawks thread was filled with fans like Kopy, then it would be page after page of great football discussion. A few posts ago, Newbie called my aliases sad, and he has 2 himself. Now that is the most pathetic thing you've ever heard. Or hypocritical. Whatever. It's a long standing tradition. I'm fairly certain that dozens and dozens of poster have aliases well over 20 each, some approaching 50+. Why? Most for comedic effect. Most are created for one day for immediate effect and then discarded to the trash heap. Those Sanctuary folks made thousands of false profiles. From my vantage point, I fancy myself a "heel" on this bored. A villain, so to speak. And what makes a great villain? Well, a lust for world domination. Alternate aliases to help hatch long term plots and scheme to cull hatred from the masses. And above all else, catch phrases. phillybear 366 Posted August 6, 2013 Eh, things seem to have finally settled down somewhat. It's like assessing the outside of your house after a thunderstorm has passed through as you were firing a canon into the air. I remember one time when I challenged a bonfire to a fight, and it lasted 34 rounds before the fire finally had enough and quit. Anyway, the talk leaking out from training camp is extremely encouraging, well from a defensive stand point. The defense is loaded at every position and has to be the front runner for best defense in the league. Walter Thurmond has a decent shot to unseat Browner as a starter. That's how deep the secondary is, 6 deep in stud defensive backs. The additions of Tony McDaniel and Jesse Williams just absolutely plugged up the hole in the middle against the run. The offense is scattershot, but who wouldn't be facing the defense every day in practice. Wilson is looking better, Tarvaris is probably the best QB in camp so far, and WRs are wildly inconsistent, Sean McGrath has looked really good to ease the fears at TE depth, and the offensive line looks good while Carpenter and Moffitt run with the 2nd string. RB is deep and imposing.
Groundhog 24 Posted August 6, 2013 I could see Thurmond fighting for playing time at nickel instead of corner, which would mean unseating Antoine Winfield. Either way, you're right, it's ridiculous how deep we are at CB. But I'm still worried about depth at free safety. Earl is probably the single hardest guy to replace on the roster. I guess if this is your biggest problem, it means you're in good shape. Hopeful that Irvin can make the transition to OLB. Does this mean that his time at LEO is done with? Still think McQuistan's job depends on Carpenter's health. If Carp has a strong preseason, I think the Hawks cut McQ for the salary cap implications. If not, I think McQ stays. I like Sweezy to keep the RG spot and Moffitt in reserve. Hopeful that Jesse Williams and McDaniel mean we don't miss Jason Jones. But we still need a healthy Red out wide. Thurmond has been splitting playing with Browner right now, getting some 1st string reps. I think the coaches are thinking Browner would work better as the backup to both Thurmond and Sherman. And Thurmond was starting over Sherman before Thurmond got hurt. Hey, I could see any and all of them competing with Winfield too. So much versatility, so much depth. Safety depth...well, I've been a big fan of Jeron Johnson for a while; he's very solid. Is it Winston Guy backing up Thomas? Man, Thomas might be the most irreplaceable guy on the team. Irvin is playing 2nd string at OLB right now. Weirdly, Seattle is not listing any designation to either OLB position on their depth chart, meaning they are key on flexibility. Right now, Wright and Wagner are locks to start, whereas Malcolm Smith and Bruce Irvin and Heath Farwell seem to be getting some minutes at the other spot. Irvin can't play at the line; needs to build up speed in space. Right now, all indications are McQuistan and Sweezey are expected to start, with Carpenter and Moffitt competing for backup roles. I don't think they will make many cap cuts mainly because they still have several million under the cap, so they don't have to make a move based on money. Only if they want to extend someone, like Tate. McDaniel is flying under the radar, but we got him very cheap in free agency. He's an enormous fellow. Just the sheer size plus athleticism of McDaniel and/or Jesse Williams will be like trying to run around a hotel. Hill is going to be a pass rush specialist, as expected. Everybody seems excited by Girl's Name, but he is nowhere near ready to contribute right away, as he has a lot to learn playbook wise and blocking. But he has flashed a lot of potential, so we will see. Spencer Ware is running 3rd string at fullback, so he isn't going to unseat anybody this year. I can't believe that the shitty defense we had around 3 or 4 years ago has become THIS.
Groundhog 24 Posted August 6, 2013 I can't believe that the shitty defense we had around 3 or 4 years ago has become THIS. I know. I remember a few years ago watching in a sports bar when the Hawks got crushed something like 40-3 by the Giants. It wasn't even that close. We were too small to fight off power runs, never pressured Eli at all, and there were plenty of seams in the zone for him to pick apart. By the end even the Giants fans were trying to console me and a buddy that our team was just having an off-day and that we couldn't possibly be THAT bad. That's when you know you need a total reconstruction, which blessedly is what we got.

I went back and watched the Redskin playoff game yesterday. Miller was an absolutely beast and the MVP of that game. After the Redskins had gone up 14, the Seahawks were looking at another 3 and out. Miller made an incredible grab pulling the ball up right before hit the field and then bulled his way to a first down to keep the drive going, keep the D from coming back on the field and also quieting the crowd and momentum a bit. Later in the game he converted a HUGE third down by staying in to chip the D end and then peeled out the back field to make a another huge play. Finally, he absolutely destroyed a Redskin LB on Lynch's TD run. Wilson gets the credit for being out in front on that run but it was Miller who sprang him. Miller is lined up right on the 30 yd line. Watch him annihilate that LB: With McCoy done for the year, if Miller is out McGrath and Willson are two huge question marks. I'm also very concerned that Jesse Williams is missing so much time with knee issues. That is why he fell to the 5th round. Not sure he can last 16 games in the NFL. And we cannot overlook the way Miller destroyed the Atlanta defense. Miller had to stay in and block and his pass catching stats suffered for several years. Once everything clicked for Wilson, and the playbook opened up, Miller was a monster weapon. Yeah, his feet concern me to no end. However, people that have been attending camp regularly all seem to say the same stuff. McGrath looks like the real deal. Well, he will get a long audition in preseason and that could go a long way to alleviating all our our fears. Wilson is a long term project TE who might be able to get a few plays here and there and run a route, but he is nowhere near ready to play regularly. Miller probably won't suit up until the first regular season game, to protect him. Hey, I gave Tarvaris his share of beatings, but he's been looking through progressions, actually going downfield, and throwing accurately. He played with a torn pec most of that season, so maybe that was part of the reason for checkdowns. Plus, he had to throw to Mike Williams and a bunch of stiffs behind a porous offensive line, with Justin Forsett as his main RB. He never had a chance to succeed. Williams has missed some time, but he'll play, and play a lot of minutes in the regular season. No need to use him all up now. I suspect.
