drobeski 3,061 Posted October 7, 2013 Red sox should finish of the rays tonight, eventually putting the pirates away in 5 They are a great story, no prima donna douches other than papi a little bit. Amazing turn around from last year.
Cruzer 1,996 Posted October 7, 2013 I picked the A's going into this - sticking with them. I have no love for them nor do I know how they do it - but they just seem to find a way to win.

CantTouchThis 23 Posted October 8, 2013 The freaking pesky A's win again. Gawd I hate them. Â As do I. Right when I saw my Tigers were set to play them about a week before the season ended, I just said "Fooooccckkk...why the focking As...again?!?!?" Â I respect them A LOT. They are doing the most with the least, they just have a bunch of blue collared guys who get it done. I hate playing them so much because they play the Tigers so hard. Â That being said, Miggy barely being able to walk is a huge, huge hit to the Tigers' offense. Even if he goes 0-4 when healthy, his very presence changes the way pitchers play this lineup completely. Now they know they can actually attack him more. He might hit a sharp single up the middle or something, but he's not putting the ball into the bleachers. Yet. Last night he had more pop in his bat, it's one of those nagging injuries that could eventually just subside enough for him to charge the ball more. Â Last year it went 5, I think it's going 5 this year as well. The lineup usually plays a lot better at home and I think the offense will come alive today and put up 7 or 8 runs. I'm hoping. Â If the As close it out though, then I'd hate to be the (more than likely) Red Sox. This As team is on a mission, man. Â There are reports that if Fister comes out flat, Max will come out in long relief and Verlander will start game 5 if they can get it to there. It's the best plan, IMO, if Fister does come out flat. Though, it's kind of sh1tty for Max as this season and in game 1 I think he has kind of earned #1 status for this season before JV inevitably takes it back next season because...well he's JV and people forget that because of one mediocre season. CantTouchThis 23 Posted October 9, 2013 Sheesh, that was an intense game. I've never seen Max get so animated, he was pumped. Â Justin Focking Verlander. We need to see this man on Thursday, emphasis on the "focking". We need JV to be JV, and just come out with his scowl and just obliterate the As as we've seen him do before. smashmouths@blf 33 Posted October 9, 2013 Red Sox gut out big win versus Rays. Things are lining up well for them with Lester scheduled for game 1 start.
Voltaire 5,487 Posted October 9, 2013 Man the A's are taxing the Tigers for everything they have. We've played them in the playoffs twice now and it's hard to hate them because I respect too much how they've built their team. Â But holy hell, that tantrum throwing baby Pinkschlong needs to be bitchslapped or pelted with nachos or something. If we could relive the Martinez homerun again, the one guy would actually catch the ball while the other dumped beer on the whiny dipsh*t's head. Â I didn't get to do Go Go Gadget Arms! Please take the homerun off the board! Please! He was still sobbing after the game. How about a triple helping of Shut the Fock Up served with a side dish of warm treats freshly scooped out of Sux's cats' litter box? Â I did appreciate how he helped us out of a serious jam the next inning by swinging and missing at ball four. Probably shouldn't attempt to go to bat with tears in your eyes from crying so much. A$$hole.
Voltaire 5,487 Posted October 9, 2013 Red Sox gut out big win versus Rays. Things are lining up well for them with Lester scheduled for game 1 start. This finishing up the Rays early helps the Red Sox a lot as compared to the Tigers who's rotation will be royally focked if they get that far. It's taking everything the Tigers have to get by this solid A's team. Â Of course if the A's advance, do they actually have any fans around here really don't gives a sh*t if their rotation is focked or not...
Cruzer 1,996 Posted October 9, 2013 Thank you Baseball Jesus for letting the Sox knock out the Rays. No offense Tampa fans - but the thought of having to watch a WS played in that toilet of a stadium is sickening.
Patriotsfatboy1 1,433 Posted October 9, 2013 Thank you Baseball Jesus for letting the Sox knock out the Rays. No offense Tampa fans - but the thought of having to watch a WS played in that toilet of a stadium is sickening. Â That place is such a sh!thole and it usually contains a ton of empty seats even when the team is winning. That they have those catwalks that get hit routinely is a joke. It's taking everything the Tigers have to get by this solid A's team. Â Of course if the A's advance, do they actually have any fans around here really don't gives a sh*t if their rotation is focked or not... Â But really, with the Tigers, does it really matter? I know the As got to the Anibal and Doug, but really they have 3 legit #1 guys on their team, with a #4 who is a borderline #1 to strong #2. Â In absolute theory as the series is 50/50, IMO, even with JV having his stuff back and starting because the offense still has to get hits; Max would start game 1 of the ALCS. That was part of the strategy of him coming out of the pen. Sanchez would start game 2 and JV game 3. I mean, it really doesn't matter with those 3. You have the CYA winner in game 1, the ERA champ in game 2, and you come back home with the person who arguably still has the best pure stuff in the league. Isn't that absurd, really? How is this team not steam rolling everyone? Â They have 3 starters better than the As #1, and Fister who is better than their #2(well, Gray has looked like an absolute beast, but he is still too fresh to give much credit to overall), and yet they have been playing from behind almost all damn series. Â Even next series(again, in theory), I don't think anyone would argue against; JV, Max, Sanchez > Lester. Yet, they would be pretty heavy underdogs in the series. I do think a lot of it is the fact that the best hitter in the world is at MAYBE 40% right now. Â I dunno, we'll see. I somehow think that Sox fans would almost rather see the Tigers. Voltaire 5,487 Posted October 11, 2013 Happy to be done with the A's. Â Halfway through game four when the Tigers were down 3-0, I'll be honest here, I was really thinking they were done. Â One thing about the Tigers, they have to have the lead early in the game. Then when they turn the game over to the bullpen, you hope they don't fock it up. All teams of course want that, but the 2013 Tigers moreso than any team ever. Far more Ws become Ls than Ls become Ws. Â Starting pitchers will win the game but the bullpen is heartburn city.
Cruzer 1,996 Posted October 11, 2013 Wow what a meat pitch Gray served up to Cabby. Coimg down the pipe the big man's eyes lit up light he was at a Sizzler buffet. JV was awesome - had the really good stuff last night.......... But I think the Tigers luck runs out against the Sox - Boston in 6 as well.
CantTouchThis 23 Posted October 11, 2013 It was definitely awesome seeing the old JV back on the mound last night. I guess he has been the old JV the past 4 or 5 starts though, it seems he found his stuff just in a nick of time. Â Boston is a completely different animal though. They look almost unbeatable. Detroit definitely have to find their bats. As good as Detroit's pitching is, I don't think they will win more than one or two games scoring 2 or 3 runs a game. Miggy seems to be finding his power more and more, so that helps a lot. Victor has been a monster, and Peralta being back and on a mission helps. Focking Jackson and Prince though suck d1ck, they really need to get their feet under them. Â Basically, everyone on Detroit has be come to play in this series if they are going to win. I really think this is going to be an epic series, almost every game down to the wire. Â Detroit in 7. Â It's Anibal in game 1, and I think Max in game 2. So game 7 would be Max starting, plus JV coming out of the pen if needed. It will be in Boston, but good luck with that Sox if it does go 7....

Voltaire 5,487 Posted October 13, 2013 Good to get that win. The Sux didn't look very impressive, hopefully that continues, but they showed they know how to run up the pitch count against the starter and then try to cheese out an undeserved win against the bullpen. They've obviously been reading the scouting reports. Â Of course, if they can't even hit against the bullpen like today, they're totally focked. Gotta score more than one run to maintain my sanity. Voltaire 5,487 Posted October 14, 2013 Another no hitter? Good grief. This is the focking playoffs, shartstains. Voltaire 5,487 Posted October 14, 2013 Gawd out bullpen sucks. I mean we've all been saying it and seeing it this year. But today's result is beyond terrible. Boston played like total sh*t again. You go from no hitter with a five run lead to blown win the moment the starter gets pulled.
Thornton Melon 648 Posted October 14, 2013 I was at the Sox game in the center field bleachers. I honestly thought Torii Hunter broke his neck going for that ball. He was flat on the ground with the whole Sox bullpen surrounding him for a good 30 seconds. Through the whole wild celebration of Papi's homer I'm looking down into the bullpen thinking "What if this guy is dead?"
