Boycott Fox News

Recommended Posts

CNN is often propped by the libs here as an unbiased news agency; I present to you the article from CNN in Frozenbeernuts' "Kansas Dbags" thread. I challenge the libs here to read this account of the proposed bill and determine if it is a fair, unbiased representation. I honestly don't know because I haven't studied the actual bill. But it sure reads like it has an opinion, and then begrudgingly admits there are some "concessions," like the business still has to provide the service to gheys.

So in all of it...you admit you don't even know.

It reads like it has a bias or an opinion because of your own bias right off the bat.

CNN does have a slight left lean to them as far as I am concerned. Nowhere near the right leaning of FoxNews or the more left leaning MSNBC.

BTW, that bill should be destroyed...its hilarious that anyone wants to claim its a bill about freedoms while trying to limit other people's freedoms at the same time.

Its an awful bill and ridiculous how shortsighted and stupid it is.

Notice who you didn't show up in the thread about how much the site is worth.

Fraud. :overhead:

Im shocked...he usually flocks to anything and everything about the board.

You said Fox News twice, which is actually accurate. There are opinion shows like Hannity which are far right. But I'd put Neil Cavutu up against any journalist from another station for integrity.

Oops, meant Wall Street Journal the second go-around. No I was NOT correct initially

You failed my challenge. This article has every bit the type of bias that you accuse Fox News of. I can't prove if you've studied the actual bill or not, but that isn't the point. The point is that this article makes virtually no attempt to be unbiased; in fact, the "concessions" section comes off as an editor who tried to wedge in an appearance of impartiality.

Again, I make no comment on the bill itself. Just the way it is "reported."

It was reported correctly for what a piece of crap it is.

That's not "reporting," that's "opinion." Clearly you don't see the difference. :(

Well I bothered to read it. I'm not going to defend a news agency I don't read or watch, but I don't see anything crazily biased in there. I guess if you identified the biased phrases or passages I'd be open to changing my mind. But in my experience conservatives come at this discussion of what is or isn't biased with a lot of conviction to the point that disagreeing means you're a biased liberal too, and that's something of a non starter.

FWIW I boycott all cable news programs by not watching and think calling up sponsors is dumb.

Apparently you should throw out the New York Times and Wall Street Journal as well. Perhaps and professional/trade journals you read too, they're probably just as bad as Fox News

When its something that is blatant crap...it should be criticized for what it is doing...which was limiting the rights of people.

Again...sure, there are slanted pieces on CNN...not sure anyone would disagree there anyway.

And a huge LOL at the claim that I support Obama (not from you jerry). Yeah...I supported by voting for him all of...oh yeah, never.

I haven't read the NYT in years. I read the WSJ entirely for work reasons, but the lack of a sports page bugs me. :dunno:

Well, 72 members of the Kansas House thought it was worth doing. I suppose it is possible that they are all Maxine Waters level of stupid, but I doubt it. So it's possible that they have a different opinion than what you consider "blatant crap."

Oh, and the admission that CNN has slanted pieces is actually a big step. CNN is typically held up as the bastion of impartiality on this site.

Really? I've always heard it as less-biased than it's major counterparts. Not totally impartial, just not quite so blatantly one-sided. At any rate I rarely watch any cable news at all, so I won't waste much breath defending them.

Doubtful...considering polls have shown that FoxNews watchers are typically less informed than others.

http://www.forbes.com/sites/kenrapoza/2011/11/21/fox-news-viewers-uninformed-npr-listeners-not-poll-suggests/

2011 info...doubt it got any better.

Cue people whining about the validity of the polling next.

Fox and MSNBC blow...they present their slanted views of the news as well as very biased commentary.

Its obvious to pretty much anyone.

Funny how you take the highest rated cable news organization and compare them to the loest rated news organization. Your lame attempt to group them in the same basket phails on many levels. They are not the same. One is successful. The other one strives to be as successful but can't as most see through their Fawking BS. The funniest thing about it is progressive producers feel the need to be patient and endure the low ratings in hopes things will change and their stoopid Fawking demographic viewers will somehow see the light they see. My favorite being Air America. Lost many and listeners every quarter but kept going with the hopes somebody would listen. Final result........bankrupt and lost the franchise. I listened to them religiously when I could. Best radio on FM.

Worms is having a tough thread here. He basically got knocked out by the haymaker that the NYT admitted to being a progressive news organization. CNN is just a kick in the balls while he is unconscious. :(

It's mainly stupid knee-jerk conservatives who watch cable news, like you, drobeski, and, sadly, jerry. That's why Fox News slays the ratings

What do you mean? If you're asking where I get my news, I read a variety of sources, most often New York Times, Wall Street Journal and the New Yorker.

And those 72 members should be mocked for what they were doing.

I have never claimed they are some great impartial king of media.

I grouped them by their slant and content.

If you want to compare ratings...great, Fox wins.

Their ratings have nothing to do with whether they are biased or not.

You basically did nothing to refute what I said...congrats.

Just about every news media source has at least a left lean - why must the left get so out of sorts becasue the Right has 1. Is Fox a strong right lean - of course they are. If you hate them that much then don't put the channel on or click the web site. grow the fock up

Libs here like to equate Fox to MSNBC and believe that the CNNs and NYTs of the world are impartial. It's a simplistic view. They can't process the reality that their sources are left-biased.

It's a matter of degree, silly. Fox and MSNBC are heavily and overtly biased in the way that journalism simply should not be. New York Times, CNN, Wall Street Journal, etc. have some subtle inherent biases (NY Times because reporters are liberal, Wall Street Journal because businessmen are conservative), but they at least attempt some modicum of impartiality. It's apples and oranges jerry, and you know it.

No they're not, dummy. Fox News articles are no more biased than CNN, you just equate Fox with Hannity.
