keep talking in circles pussie. It covers up the fact that ice owned your sorry ass all week.

By virtue of the fact that Ive been sucked into attempting to have a discussion with what equates to a dull rock, you have in fact owned my ass all week, albeit in a very different manner than you are aware of.

So yes, I admit you are correct in this moment.

I love this. Brady's reputation has been forever tarnished and now the NFL is being called out for being the clown show run organization it's is (in regards to personal conduct).

Win-Win

Glad Bless America

Remember Richard Jewell? Yeah, exactly. A lot of idiots if you asked would say he was the Olympic bomber. Morons

As this thread has demonstrated, people are suckers for headlines. So if Brady wants to un-tarnish his rep, he just needs bigger headlines than the ones the league has pushed. Taking down the lowest character commissioner in our sports lifetime, much to the celebration of every other player in the league, could get him the type of headlines that would do the trick. I'm not predicting it, because I don't think this thing will get pushed far enough to reveal the dirty laundry of the league's behavior. But it's at least plausible.

This is working out just as I hoped. Brady's career tarnished already no matter what happens by public opinion, and now Goodell and the NFL gets publicly called out by a court of law for being overzealous know-it-all dipshits.

We all win.

And all he had to do was come clean the days following the Colts game instead of spending that time calling the ball boy to get their story straight. And now, seven months later. he's still being self-centered and he's in a courtroom while his team is in training camp. More tarnished with each passing day.

how... for what? Telling equipment guys that he likes the footballs on the lower end of the legal inflation levels? I'm guessing every QB, even backups, tell the equipment guys how they like/want the ball prepared. Isn't this exactly why each team gets to bring/prepare its own footballs?

You want him to "come clean" and admit something he has said numerous times he did not do and now a judge has said there's no clear proof that he did anything wrong. But that's still not good enough for you...

Here's what Brady can "come clean" on...

I, Tom Brady, did not fully cooperate with the NFL. The NFL was not proceeding in a fair, hones, and unbiased way when they began their investigation. I was clear to my attorney and me that any materials provided to the NFL or their "independent" investigator beyond what was legally and contractually required would be used against me in an effort to tarnish my reputation for actions outside of and not relating to football and the NFL.

Very simple. After the game, he should have held a press conference. All he had to say was something along the lines of...."I understand that our equipment managers broke a rule today and let air out of the footballs after the referees inspected them. As the quarterback of this team, I put a lot of pressure on those guys to prepare everything the way I like it. They do a great job for me and the team, but in this instance, they went to far. And I accept the blame for that. While I never asked them to break any rules, I truly believe they were doing what they thought would make me happy. I realize that rules are rules and I want to apologize to the league, the Indianapolis Colts, and the fans of the NFL. I take great pride in doing things the right way and I can assure you there will never be a misunderstanding like this again."

Done. Team fine. The entire circus over before the Super Bowl is even played. But Brady chose a different route. As do all the steroid guys when they get busted. Deny, deny, deny. And now he's missing training camp because of his self-centeredness.

My point was, if they hadn't decided to go the Ryan Braun route, this would have been over a long, long time ago. Pats would still have their draft picks. Brady wouldn't be suspended. And Brady wouldn't look like such a lying, whiny pussie to everyone in the country.

1. What if he does not know or "understand' that is what happened

2. Even if that is what happened, Brady/NE get crucified for throwing the "little guys" under the bus - I can only imagine how crazed you'd have been if they did that

I think the wording makes it sound like Brady admits he puts so much pressure on the guys that they misunderstood his expectations. It also lets Brady sound like he had no idea they were breaking rules, but still admitting culpability. Of course he'd be criticized. But certainly not to the extent he's being killed by the public now. He looks horrible. Regardless of the outcome. Those two ball boys were fired.

This is why Newbie is Newbie. He thinks Brady should have in one statement:

- admitted his ball boys broke the rules.

- admitted they did it to make him happy

- said he never asked them to do anything of the sort.

I, and other logical people, would have called Brady to the carpet for this. How can he claim he wasn't involved and imply he didn't know about it, but also admit that he knows they did it?....and as soon as the logical people pointed out this contradiction, Newbie would have went insane with rage at Tom Brady for cheating. He may have tracked down Edjr and punched him in the face just because it's the only thing he could do to get out some aggression.

Depends on the level of punishment you're accepting to make it go away. If a cop gives you a ticket, but the offer from the judge is a fine and no points, yeah accept that and move on. But if they want a fine and points and suspend your license, you fight that if you're innocent. Kraft took the harsh punishment. He should have fought it, it's not like he doesn't have the means to fight it.

I'm not saying that no one would have been critical of Brady. I, for one, would have definitely called him a liar for acting like he didn't know they were doing it. But at least he's coming clean and admitting some blame for it. Resembling a male. And it would have been over long ago with MUCH MUCH less penalty to his team. He's getting the hatred anyway.

don't you think Brady / NE knew from the get-go that NFL officials who did not like them were trying to set this whole thing up? Like a black guy who's traffic stop quickly turns into something it shouldn't, for no reason at all.

And you want Brady to cooperate, just lay down to make it all easier on himself and the team - no focking way - maybe if Philly had this mindset, they'd have a trophy or two.

I'll agree with you here.

And in a vacuum, we both agree a 1st and 4th is harsh. What I don't know is what the league was threatening Kraft with if he fought it and lost......and considering that the prosecutor also served as the judge in this system, and that he has a history of excessive punishment, and that there were indications he wanted blood, well it may be best just to plea down no matter how badly the deal looks.

You are making some good points.

The result is this.....Before I tended to lean towards Brady being guilty, but realizing there isn't anywhere near enough evidence to be confident, and therefore declaring you can't destroy a man's rep and potentially a team's season on what amounts to a 55-45 prospect he did it..................But the more legit points you make like this, the more I start to think Brady is actually completely innocent.

:dunno:

The Ravens are pissed and embarrassed that they lost to NE because they didn't know the formation rules.

The Ravens call NE's rival, the Colts, to tell them they think NE is doing bad things.

Mike Kensil, the league official who worked at NYJ and lost his job bc of Belichick, leads the investigation, and at halftime runs to NE equipment guys proclaiming, "“We weighed the balls. You are in big f—ing trouble.”.

Newbie - that is the definition of people "out to get you"... these people clearly have an agenda to jam up NE.

Do you deny this?

edit: Also, Kensil admitted he has no idea what the Ideal Gas Law is.

This is the equivalent of a cop who does not understand a radar gun pulling people over.

Why wasn't eh league out to get the 70's Steelers? Or the 80's 49ers? Or the 90's Cowboys?

Bottom line is, dynasties have always been respected and generally liked. Of course the rival teams hated them, but there was a general fondness and respect for those Steeler, Niner, and Cowboy teams. Your Patriots are hated. They are smug. Their fans are smug. They break the rules constantly. And then when they get caught, they act like...well, like you. There's a reason you feel paranoid.

no newbie... the fondness only comes around after a historical look back - the Cowboys, Steelers, and (to some degree) 49ers were hated.

Gretzky was hated.

Russel and Chamberlain were hated

LeBron is hated

Bird was hated

The Yankees were hated

The Canadiens were hated

Marino was hated

and for all of them, not so much anymore...

The league bylaws accord Commissioner rulings the status of "final, conclusive, and unappealable". Kraft would have had to sue the league, and he would have been breaking the bylaws in doing that.

Since the owners ARE the league, an owner suing the league is completely different than a player suing the league. It's like a partner suing his own firm. Even if you win the case, unless it positively impacts the other partners (which in this case it clearly wouldn't), it's not going to bode well for you going forward. And a win weakens the league in the long run. A million bucks is petty cash for Kraft, and even a first rounder is not that huge a deal when compared with the long-term prospect of losing standing with his fellow owners and influence in the league.

If Brady throws the equipment guys under the bus and walks away clean, there's an outcry from the masses and from NFLers like Kensil that have an agenda - an investigation would have to be conducted - they're not gonna' just take Brady's or the team's word and leave it at that.

If Brady had said something like that...rather than claiming he knew nothing, refusing to give them information (until he gave up some emails and a spreadsheet)...there is zero chance they suspend him 4 games like they did.

You make it out that the NFL as a whole hated the Pats and Brady and were just on some witch hunt to destroy them.

The 49ers cheated the salary cap during their run. The Cowboys have admitted to the same things the Pats did during Spygate, and were considered beyond smug criminals. The difference is this commissioner. He is more concerned with his public perception than what is right or fair. And when he saw himself on Time magazine with the title "The Enforcer", his diick got hard.

Think about this.

- A superstar hit his child so hard that there are pictures of the child's injuries all over the internet

- A star player is on video punching his wife out cold, then dragging her seemingly lifeless body out of an elevator

- The most smug seeming girly QB of the modern era may have been cheating

And somehow, I can find multiple articles on major mainstream websites in each of those cases that indicate the commish acted in a way that those guys are victims. Think about how hard that should have been to do.....If this guy ahd been the world's commish for the last century, yahoo and msn would be publishing stories indicating that Pol Pot and Hitler are being viewed too harshly.
