:softball:  I've never been a huge fan of tomato juice so they're not for me. People drink the sh1t out of them at the sports bar I go to on Sundays as soon as they start serving booze at noon though.

Reality 2,711 Posted October 5, 2015 Bloody Mary   That is a fine beverage, the spicier the better, pickles and olives also please.  Not sure how many I've had at 6:30 in the morning hanging out with the kiddos though.

penultimatestraw 473 Posted October 6, 2015 Hopefully you've got a good life insurance policy since you decided getting lit up every day is more important than being there for your family over the long haul. Alcoholism only decreases life expectancy 10-12 years. I think he smokes, too, which knocks off another decade. Â But the quality of life is what matters most. That may seem pretty great when you're liquored up, but it's less fun when all your organs start failing a few years before death. Â So roughly, an average drunk day must be about 1 1/2 times better than a sober one to make alcoholism a worthy investment.

OldMaid 1,844 Posted October 6, 2015 You want to die early, I guess that's your business. And you finally got your wife on board with it too- fantastic. But you've got kids to think about. Â I know you're said you'd hate for them to grow up and drink like you do. Well, guess what? Chances are they will. I don't know the exact %, but kids of alcoholics are more likely to be alcoholics themselves. And you not even trying to fight it is sending them the message that it's okay. Sure you can tell them it's not, but they're going to base a lot of how they handle situations from watching you. If you were weak, that's what they'll learn. Â Anyway... I don't say this to be mean... and I don't enjoy telling you these things. But someone needs to put some fear in you, because it's getting to the point where it's going to be too late... The saddest part is that he mentioned that he made breakfast for his boys. So it's not like he's alone and decided to mix a drink. He's with his kids and still needs to drink alcohol. Why can't that be joy enough? I worry for those boys.

The Elevator Killer 497 Posted October 6, 2015 Â Â Started my day with one yesterday at 10:00 and continued to drink free beer all day at my favorite festival. This reminded of a trip to St. Augustine. The bars there close pretty early. Something like 1:30. Anyway, I left the bar and took my beer with me. We were sitting by the old gates and this cop drives by. He stops right in front of us and in a shocked voice asks, "Is that a BEER?!!!" Â I said "Yes, is that a problem?" Â "You can't have a beer out of the street!" Â "Oh, sorry. We're from New Orleans. The police stop you there if you don't have a beer." Â He bought it! LOL. jerryskids 5,461 Posted October 6, 2015 I can kinda maybe see drinking the bloody early on the weekend, if you are prepping for the early Jets game from London. Â The extra shot of vodka though... that's saying you need to get a good buzz on fast. That may be a sign that you could use some help. What if you try cutting the shots out? People drink the sh1t out of them at the sports bar I go to on Sundays as soon as they start serving booze at noon though. Arizona used to have a law against selling booze before noon on Sunday. Then we got an NFL team and fixed that problem right quick.
