Im suggesting the assault was likely over after that first little punch...and that with the amount of people around, there were easy means to stop any further pushing and punching quite easy.

 

The pepper spray guy also committed assault or battery just as she did.

 

 

So the guy apparently makes contact with the girl, well....the paper in his hand makes contact.... and then "he girl punches him in the face", then the assault is halted by a third party stepping up to end what could have turned really ugly by using pepper spray.

 

Not sure about the legal ramifications for each, but it seems as though this ended without serious injury so yes, kudos to the guy who stepped up and stopped the situation from becoming worse.

Your parents should have raised you to not hit anyone not just girls, and this young woman's parents should have done the same. She likely could have been spared a pepper spraying, and perhaps any future negative consequences for resorting to violence to prove a point.

The only thing ugly about the situation was the girl. It was not going to escalate, and if it did, it would have not been more than the pepper spray. She was a twat, but she really was not some sort of threat to people there.
