The document, a dossier prepared by a former British intelligence officer hired by Mr. Trump’s political opponents, had been circulating among high-ranking politicians and some journalists since the fall. Intelligence officials recently presented a two-page summary of the allegations to Mr. Trump and President Obama, CNN reported on Tuesday.

But CNN declined to include the specific allegations contained in the dossier — such as collusion between Mr. Trump’s team and Russian operatives — saying that its journalists could not independently verify them.

Roughly an hour later, BuzzFeed, in a break from typical journalistic practice, posted the document that fully detailed the unverified allegations to which CNN had alluded.

 

 

So there was something that the President and Trump were briefed on...Buzzfeed was stupid in publishing the unverified document for sure....which fueled others to get articles out there. Seems a lot of people had this information for a while but didn't want to publish.

What is the memo is unsubstantiated...but it was something enough for the President and President elect to be briefed.

 

Now...where did the leak come from. Blame the intelligence community is what some seem to be doing and there is nothing there to show they really have done anything at this point (have they even commented?)

That a 2 page summary exists (and Trump confirmed in the presser he reviewed it)...what is in that report...what was corroborated or not...was there any investigation of any sources or who this British intel guy was. That is the question.
