No Muslim Refugee has ever committed an act of terror in the U.S.

Ok, I'll agree. While it's not “a total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States until our country's representatives can figure out what's going on.” like Trump wanted, I hope we can agree that the most accurate statement is "While the order “does not apply to all Muslims, the policy only applies to Muslims,”

That sentence, which is true, is taken from a lawsuit filed.

I do not disagree. They would have been smarter to ban the entire country for those 7 and not have a "religious test". Dumb.

While I understand and actually support more vetting of immigrants from ISIS hotbeds, I think this was a big FAIL in how it was worded and implemented.

Good this is a Christian nation. One that should defend Israel and all of its opposition

Lets just use some common sense. It's a Muslim ban. Trump called it a Muslim Ban for months. Lawyers made him change the wording. Legal got involved and wrote it cleverly. But it's a Muslim Ban of those 7 countries. Even Rudy will tell you.

Nice

I'm an atheist but is it not?

As am I, and I agree with you, I'll take the Christian's fairy tales over the Muslims anyday. Deep down they want us all dead, even the "tolerant" ones.

Hypothetically, if they were in charge of America, and it was Christian's asking for equality, what the fock do you think they would do?

LOLOL As dumb as you sound here every day, you have never sounded dumber than right now. My girlfriend is Muslim. She moved here when she was 21. I can assure you that she does not want the rest of us dead. Holy fock, you're like a terrified toddler.

48% of muslims support sharia and jihad. You got one that didn't. It happens

I have forgotten more about the constitution than you will ever know. This country was founded as an escape from religious persecution however make no mistake it was in god and Christianity that the country was founded on

I agree that people from the middle east (or any country we are at odds with at a given time) should be vetted more stringently than others. And as the risk factors go up (Muslim, male, etc), I am fine with being even more deliberate.......But I draw the line at essentially labeling them guilty and banning them due the fact they are Muslim. Sounds like we mostly agree there.

Now what I haven't been made clear on is this: What was wrong with the refugee vetting process in place? I've heard it takes 2+ years on average for a Syrian Refugee to get through, is this incorrect? As a whole, was it not working? Maybe I've missed something, but I don't get it.

I'm not sure about now but at one point they were allowed to be here while being vetted

I don't care what he was getting at. People who enjoy that barbaric life stay in those countries. They know they can't come here and treat women like that. If you ban Islam, you just recruited about a million of them who already live here to become radicals. That'll be fun. Think of the Orlando nightclub, only weekly. Go Trump!

So, none of them that enjoy that barbaric lifestyle made it to Europe? Ill informed meathead.

Where are they during that 2 years? If they are in Syria or somewhere else your're right, whats the problem?

If they come over first and then we ask all the questions later.....I think that's the crux of the problem.

Quick google search indicates it all happens overseas.

President Trump has suspended entry of all refugees to the United States for 120 days, and he has barred Syrian refugees indefinitely. The current screening process for all refugees involves many layers of security checks before entry into the country, and Syrians were subject to an additional layer of checks. Sometimes, the process, shown below, takes up to two years.

:

1. Registration with the United Nations.

2. Interview with the United Nations.

3. Refugee status granted by the United Nations.

4. Referral for resettlement in the United States.

The United Nations decides if the person fits the definition of a refugee and whether to refer the person to the United States or to another country for resettlement. Only the most vulnerable are referred, accounting for less than than 1 percent of refugees worldwide. Some people spend years waiting in refugee camps.

5. Interview with State Department contractors.

6. First background check.

7. Higher-level background check for some.

8. Another background check.

The refugee’s name is run through law enforcement and intelligence databases for terrorist or criminal history. Some go through a higher-level clearance before they can continue. A third background check was introduced in 2008 for Iraqis but has since been expanded to all refugees ages 14 to 65.

9. First fingerprint screening; photo taken.

10. Second fingerprint screening.

11. Third fingerprint screening.

The refugee’s fingerprints are screened against F.B.I. and Homeland Security databases, which contain watch list information and past immigration encounters, including if the refugee previously applied for a visa at a United States embassy. Fingerprints are also checked against those collected by the Defense Department during operations in Iraq.

12. Case reviewed at United States immigration headquarters.

13. Some cases referred for additional review.

Syrian applicants must undergo these two additional steps. Each is reviewed by a United States Citizenship and Immigration Services refugee specialist. Cases with “national security indicators” are given to the Homeland Security Department’s fraud detection unit.

14. Extensive, in-person interview with Homeland Security officer.

Most of the interviews with Syrians have been done in Jordan and Turkey.

15. Homeland Security approval is required.

16. Screening for contagious diseases.

17. Cultural orientation class.

18. Matched with an American resettlement agency.

19. Multi-agency security check before leaving for the United States.

Because of the long amount of time between the initial screening and departure, officials conduct a final check before the refugee leaves for the United States.

20. Final security check at an American airport.

Our country welcomes outsiders. Your family were outsiders at one time. And they are guaranteed religious freedom. Sad that you were a marine and a cop and don't know this. No wonder we're in trouble.

You're an idiot. But following your logic, I guess anyone on earth can sue the United States for violating their constitutional rights. I wonder why they don't.

My logic? I'm telling you about our constitution. I'm not pushing any logic on you at all. You're doing some kind of Curly shuffle because you know I'm right and have no point to make. You should probably try another thread. I'm destroying you again.

Yes for the people here. Not for people we don't need to take care of. Ever talk to a Christian from the Middle East? They are scared to death every day

When we have a surplus of economy then we can take on charity cases. These people contribute nothing

Until they show they can be contributing members of American values and acclimate to our way of life I will never welcome them here

I'm convinced. Dumb X.O.

I applaud you.

This may be a Geek Club first. Two men had a respectful conversation, we didn't call each other names, and we tuned out the noise around us. I gave ground and changed my wording, you gave ground, a productive conversation ensued, and someone was convinced of something.

A statue should be erected in our honor.

Did Sho Nuff just compare people dying to being in limbo returning to the US due to their green card status? :o

No...I made an analogy where something shouldn't be measured simply because it only directly affects a certain percentage of people.

problem is that every mosque in the US is ruled over by an Imam, and sharia law is already here. It happens here already. I don't have a solution, but Islam is the fastest growing ideology in the world, and its because of the violence that it condones and allows.

Sharia law

Early polls are showing that the American people support the policy. Let the vocal minority protest, it's their right to do so, most of us agree with Trump.

On my phone, google it yourself.

Polls matter now?
