No Muslim Refugee has ever committed an act of terror in the U.S.

Recommended Posts

Could you provide some proof for that first paragraph please?

Which part? There's testimony, under oath about can't properly vet. There's also testimony, under oath, about wanting to use the refugee program to sneak in terrorists. Google should help you out.

oh no thousands and thousands

guess how many Americans hes making happy with this

I bet it starts with millions and millions

In spite of the vast advantage in numbers, millions of happy feelings is often an ineffective tool against thousands of bombs. HTH

A former intelligence official said President Trump’s executive order temporarily banning refugees and also blocking travelers from seven Muslim-majority countries will actually make Americans less safe at home and abroad by serving as a recruitment boon for ISIS, and he warned that the Trump administration needs to “start making policy like adults.”

Michael Morell, a former deputy director and acting director of the CIA, told “CBS This Morning” that, contrary to making America safer, the Trump executive order “is going to make the threat worse. It is going to make us less safe.”

Morell said the policy misses its mark. “First of all, the biggest problem we face is homegrown terrorism. Of the roughly 100 people who have been indicted by the FBI for ISIS-related crimes over the last three years, 85 percent were American citizens. This doesn’t get at that at all,” he said.

Unfortunately, this is opinion. It might be an educated opinion, but an opinion non the less. Maybe things will get worse, maybe they won't. Until an increase in terrorism happens, this is an opinion.

You mean other less than 20 minutes ago they just came out and said these countries don't have the proper reporting and structures setup to properly vet these people?

But on Sunday, several members of Mr. Trump’s party said that the process, while initiated with the right intention, had been too hastily enacted and warned that it could backfire against United States interests.

Two Republican senators, John McCain of Arizona and Lindsey Graham of South Carolina, led the criticism, saying in a statement that Mr. Trump’s order was not properly vetted and that it could be seen as the United States turning its back on Muslims who had risked their lives to serve as interpreters for the country’s military and diplomats.

I think it's best to try and value all educated opinions. Others would prefer to only value educated opinions for a given side. :dunno:

I love the mental gymnastics you liberals have to take with this.

So these folks trying to come over from these countries are no security problem.... yet a temporary ban will now result in bombs and terrorists attacks left and right from those countries.

The recently retired Customs and Border Protection Chief, Gil Kerlikowske, said Monday the White House claim that it had been working with the Department of Homeland Security on the executive order for weeks is simply untrue.

Kerlikowske added “this is the type of operation affecting thousands of employees and multiple international airports with people from lots of countries. You need to carefully orchestrate and plan it. ”

He said typically with an executive order of this magnitude would take a “huge amount of organization” to notify tens of thousands of employees and give them the protocols about how to deal with the people.

“It’s one thing to sign an executive order and another to have it reach the level of a CBP agent working a booth at JFK,” Kerlikowski said. He added “I can’t think of a thing that puts CBP officers in a more difficult position than a shoot-from-the-hip policy.”

"May do more harm". Maybe it will, maybe it won't. Europe probably thought showing compassion and taking in refugees would exempt them from terrorist attacks. Compassion didn't help, and a travel ban might piss off more. Seems like a no win.

Islam radicals are already pissed off. That's correct. But denying Talal's brother or sister from joining him in Sacramento is liable to turn him into another US-hating radical. Trump took the bait. ISIS wants to pit the entire Muslim religion against the West. He's not making the radicals any angrier, but he's creating thousand and thousands of new radicals.

how could that happen? It's a peaceful religion at its core, why would peaceful people at heart become instantly evil over such a trivial matter. :dunno:

I have no opinion on this matter and am completely on board with trumps approach or I am also fine overturning this ban on refuges. Both sides have valid arguments.

State, justice, Homeland security already gave their input. Under oath. Technically their input isn't required for the President to make decisions, but their input was given, under oath, and is public record. The new president has made a decision based on their testimony, ISIS own comments, and ISIS terrorist actions already committed.

That you think that testimony makes it all better is ridiculous. There is a reason rolling this out has been a clusterfock.

I'm against the ban obviously.....

But if there is going to be a ban designed to prevent Muslim Extremists from entering our country, then the list should be of all nations that have a decent number of Muslim Extremists that may want to enter our country....That's the criteria. Done.

Allies and business interests? I obviously get being against a ban, as it violates our principles. And I get being in favor of banning the people that want to kill us, as it saves lives.....But someone needs to explain why they would support the goal of only banning some of the people that want to kill us and letting the other people that want to kill us in.

Is it better to ban some people that want to kill us, or no people that want to kill us? :dunno:

I've said this recently and no one responds: don't let the perfect be the enemy of the good.

Mental gymnastics is what it took for you to spin this post of yours.

Nice try to deflect.

So which is it? People coming here from those countries are in no way a threat to us at all or a simple temporary ban is going to create terrorists left and right from those same countries?

Seems to me a reasonable person would discern that if a temporary ban to review our processes and theirs for vetting people sets them off then we probably are doing the right thing

There has never been a terroristic act in the US by anyone from any of those seven countries. Never. Not once. I'd say that qualifies as not a threat.

Facts be damned. Let's use opinions.

Fact: Isis has used refugee/asylum programs to attack hosting countries.

Fact: Isis said they will continue to use refugee/asylum programs to infiltrate foreign countries.

Fact: Our own security agencies testified that we can not properly vet these refugees.

Fact: Our own security agencies testified ISIS will and has used the refugee program to infiltrate foreign countries.

Fact: A list of countries were deemed terrorist hot spots and approved by Congress and Obama.

Opinion: Ban might cause an increase in terrorism.

Haven't we arrest or broken up planned attacks by individuals from these countries tho? I consider those thwarted plans a threat to Americans.

So, just trying to logic this one out (using the KneeJerker's Vaunted Assertions):

1) EVERYbody KNOWS that the vetting process is horribly flawed! ALL the Agencies said so!

(Though they didn't and nobody can prove via a link. - However, just the opposite is a easily found in a 4 second google search. But hey, go with it...)

AND:

2) They (Mooslims) ALL HATE US ANYWAY!

(Really? I thought we lost this mindset around 2004, but whatever...)

- I mean especially that five year old they detained - has to hate us. And that guy who risked his life being an interpreter for the 101st, and that wheelchair bound grandma - all paragons of evil I tells ya!

So, piece of cake to come over, they all hate us, can't wait to kill us - and add in Trump's misguided notion that they can come over in a minute's notice:

Why is the BEST that the kneejerkers can come up with in the past ten years is some random non-fatal knife attack by a random loon?

I mean, if they all hate us and it's that easy to come over, shouldn't there be piles of dead Amuricans everywhere?

Darn them lilly-livered logic users.,,

...and you wonder... :overhead:

Wow. What Bizarro world can you twist that to get to your post?

But brilliant liberal logic. It's no secret that these are terrorists States. That has been agreed upon by both parties.

So yeah let's just wait around until they actually kill Americans to do anything about it or review our processes. It's a temporary ban.

Again I seriously wonder how some of you function day today jumping at shadows as much as you do.

You claim these people are no problem at all but somehow a 90-day ban is going to cause them to be killing Americans left and right now. Just lining up to join Isis because of it. But they are also not a threat. Truly comical.

Yiu should read more...don't take my opinion...take that of those who have dealt with national security who have said as such...try google...can even pick your sources.
