Immigrants are handed checks?  Can you educate me on  how this works?  And they all live on the streets?  I'd guess that if that's the case the conditions in the country they're coming from must be pretty terrible no?

And if you don't think there are atrocities these people are fleeing from you're misinformed.  Obviously the holocaust comparison was a bit of hyperbole but in your scenario where these folks have to fend for themselves you'd have said the same thing about the jews in the 30's and 40's.
