By my count, you I think.

Cool.

Time to diversify for a few pics to round out my portfolio of semi greatness

14.11 David Allen Coe - You Never Even Call Me By My Name :pointstosky:

Lyrics

Well, it was all

That I could do to keep from crying'

Sometimes it seemed so useless to remain

But you don't have to call me darlin', darlin'

You never even call me by my name

You don't have to call me Waylon Jennings

And you don't have to call me Charlie pride

And you don't have to call me Merle Haggard anymore

Even though you're on my fighting' side

[Chorus:]

And I'll hang around as long as you will let me

And I never minded standing' in the rain

But you don't have to call me darlin', darlin'

You never even called me by my name

Well, I've heard my name

A few times in your phone book (hello, hello)

And I've seen it on signs where I've played

But the only time I know

I'll hear "David Allan Coe"

Is when Jesus has his final judgment day

[Repeat chorus]

[Recitation:]

Well, a friend of mine named Steve Goodman wrote that song

And he told me it was the perfect country & western song

I wrote him back a letter and I told him it was

Not the perfect country & western song because he hadn't said anything at all about mama,

Or trains,

Or trucks,

Or prison,

Or getting' drunk

Well he sat down and wrote another verse to the song

And he sent it to me,

And after reading it,

I realized that my friend had written the perfect

Country & western song

And I felt obliged to include it on this album

The last verse goes like this here:

Well, I was drunk the day my mom got out of prison

And I went to pick her up in the rain

But before I could get to the station in my pickup truck

She got run ned over by a damned old train

[Chorus:]

And I'll hang around as long as you will let me

And I never minded standing' in the rain

No, a' you don't have to call me darlin', darlin'

You never even call me

Well I wonder why you don't call me

Why don't you ever call me by my name

Wow! I did not see that coming. I haven't picked any country yet, thinking I could grab some of my favorites in the last couple of rounds. This was one of them.

Well played, sir.

It was in large part thanks to you that I picked it.

You said you'd liked Long Time better than More Than a Feeling and I said at the time, "what kind of bullsh*t is Big Guy pulling". So then I gave Long Time a listen, "ah, I remember this". While, I disagree that it was better than MTaF, it was still really good, so much so that I got to sniffing around for more Boston tunes. I'd forgotten this one.

Yes.

What a godforsaken musical landscape.

What is the ultimate bar song? How about a song about a bar, behind which are bungalows?

The song features John Sebastian from the Lovin Spoonful on harmonica and although they seldom used a bass player, this band somehow convinced the great Lonnie Mack to put down his guitar and play bass on this song.

Its morning geeks. Wake up and get yourselves a beer.

OK. Just make sure you're around when it's organizing. We'll finish this. start vote on this. and as the voting winds down, the 90s thing will kick in.

So last night i'm in a bar here in Bangkok, and this song comes on. I'm like, "is this song 1970's? I don't think so..."

But it was. And I cannot believe it hasn't been picked. I assume nobody thought it was as old as it is.

Good more Doors. It's been tough knowing I'm the only one to take them thus far. Of course nzoner probably felt that way about Bowie.

So last night i'm in a bar here in Bangkok, and this song comes on. I'm like, "is this song 1970's? I don't think so..."

But it was. And I cannot believe it hasn't been picked. I assume nobody thought it was as old as it is.

14.14 - Margaritaville - Jimmy Buffet

Welcome to the party captain. Have a frozen concoction and hang on.

Damn, nice. Yup, would've thought it was 80s. It not being in the 80s draft should've been a sign
