11.07 - Misery Loves Company - Michael Stanley Band

HT picked a Michael Stanley Band song for the 80s draft. He may know this song. odds are if you didn't live in NE Ohio area, you have never heard this but it is from their best album that never got off the ground nation wide. The whole album 'Cabin Fever' is good. This one is my favorite. I can imagine there is great music from that era in other parts of the country that never made it as well.

I have to tell you something. I'm so impressed with some of your picks that I'm thinking maybe I was wrong about Hotel California not being a top 5 pick.

At least I still have Cats in the Cradle to rag you on. I like Chapin. A big song of his is one of my favorites. I just never liked Cats in the Cradle. I saw him in concert on his tour just before he died. Amazing story teller. He has one song in particular that is awesome. Not a hit, but many times the best songs aren't hits. After the concert he was outside selling autographs and kisses to raise money for world hunger. This was LONG before anyone ever thought of Live Aid. Great story teller and a great person.

I don't know why I have an issue with picking a band already represented(so many good songs still)but still have a nice list of bands not drafted yet that are so deserving of a mention.

I totally get this. I was debating with my Moody Blues pick, But they hadn't been shown any love. In a way it helped me narrow it down.

Thanks for helping me break a tie for me, I was between this and another song. Back in the second round there was discussion about Cats in the Cradle being Chapin's biggest hit; certainly it was commercially, but as soon as someone implied he had a better song, I thought of this. Plus TEK I think it was you a few nights ago who said he woke up in the middle of the night with songs running through his head. I've had the same problem the past two nights, and this song was first up last night, for about 1.5 hours it just kept playing in my head. Perhaps picking it will assuage the demons.

Fuckin Skids !

Same as me. I thought I could hold out awhile but as soon as TEK mentioned HC again (I had already picked this round) I said I hope to snag it with my next pick and didn't last very long.

Great Song / Story.

I was going to pick it even without his comment, most likely. My biggest fear was after reading it, Dain still had a pick, and I was all please please PLEASE don't take it! :D

ETA: I guess so. I see Cruzer's 11.13 pick on the board. :D

Not my personal favorite from this band but it's one of their classics. Can't believe they made it to round 11 without a nod.

What a steal this late. Huge song. I wanted to take it but there are so many great ballads still out there and the rockers are growing thin. It's like grabbing running backs because there will be plenty of quality receivers still on the board.

I realized that what I said was combining 2 people.

But the part where I said I dread the draft ending because it will also mean that the time that I've spent with all you guys will be over still stands.

The ones that I like better are all from the 60s. I almost went with another one hit wonder, but I wanted a Stones song on my list.
