Tank Lawrence has Dallas over a barrel... The Boys haves absolutely nobody to fill his role and the rest of the line (as a unit) either sucks or is disintegrating before our eyes.. The kicker part is, Tank needs shoulder surgery. Lawrence is willing to have it preformed now and be ready for the start of the season - but he wants his deal 1st... If Dallas Franchises him again, Tank said he will wait until the start of the season to have the surgery, thus missing the year... And since he's hurt, you can't' exactly trade him.

* I would rather pay Lawrence than Dak.

* Lawrence 1st said he wanted $20m a year, then changed his mind and demandedĀ $22m.

* If the difference is $2m - both sides should come a compromise and figure it out.

* if an deal can't be meant - fock'm.. Let him sit out and make due.

The Cowboys offer was already too high IMO.

The Salary Cap plus the over inflated ego on these "Superstar" Players is pretty much unmanageable. If I were an owner I'd be all about finding hungry, raw, talented players and paying them the minimum then letting them walk when they become too pricey.

Next man up!

NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reports the Cowboys are expected to acquire Dolphins DE Robert Quinn.

Rapsheet reports there are still "minor issues" to be worked out — we have heard that one before — but that the deal will get done. He is reportedly fetching a late-round pick. Rapsheet's colleague Tom Pelissero reports Quinn, who is currently due $11.811 million, is expected to agree to a new one-year deal. No longer the pass-rushing force he briefly was earlier in his career, 29-year-old Quinn is still good for 6-8 sacks per season. He will provide a non-trivial boost to the Cowboys' Randy Gregory-less defensive line.

Another 1 year deal. Ā Can heĀ stay healthy enough to make an impact on this d line?

Shockingly, they were in the hunt last year. Ā With a bit more luck and a little more talentĀ to take the pressure off an average QB and a below average coach, you never know. Ā

I give em credit forĀ trying something.Ā

I feel it was a fluke. Ā Wasnt the sky falling for cowboy fans for most of the year? Ā

Im just trying to understand the cap situation. Ā They arent in terrible shape right now. Ā But they have SO MANY FAs in 2020. Ā Dak. Collins. Jones. Heath. Jaylon Smith. Hurns. Cooper. Cobb. Quinn. Lee. Ā Then of course the Lawrence situation right now. Ā

Just seems like next year they will lose some key players. Ā Dak better improve this year.

2016, one could argue, was just as detrimental to this team as it was successful. Yes the run was funĀ - but that false sense of security set this team back years. Out of that came a belief that Dak was (and is) a franchise qb, that you can win just running the ball and that you compete with average defensive talent.

Last year for the most part was a fluke. This team was dead in the water, ridingĀ 3-5 and headed to Philly, Atlanta and NO. Who knew Philly would be so banged up, that Atlanta had given up and that they would actually beat NO. .. But in the end, Indy and the Rams both exposed this team for what it is - average.

Dak is not a drop back pocket passer - never has been. And as long as this team insists on treating him like one - we will never flourish. Factor into account Jerry is about to pay him out him out the ass - we are going to be spinning our wheels for a long damn time.

Yep. You're in a similar boat to my Titans, quarterback wise anyway.

There's practically a civil war on the Titans forum between the resign Mariota faction and the let him walk faction. I am of the latter faction, as Mariota is mediocre are best and often not even that.

The bigger issue is mediocre at best is still gonna probably cost 15 to 20 million a year.

Yep. That's why I advocate the Titans let Mariota walk and draft a rookie. If your going to have mediocre with weeks of terrible, might as well get it for cheap. And maybe you get lucky and get live one.

The roster is good enough to make the playoffs with just ok qb play. Don't overpay for average.Ā

Jerrah sure got #21's panties in a wad - Zeke not happy about the comment and feeling 'disrespected'... Well you know what you stupid sumbiitch - Dallas isn't happy that you're holding out, it's disrespectful for you to not honor your contract and report to camp....... I hope Zeke stays away - fock'm.

I’m sort of torn here. Zeke has 2 years left and he should honor that. On the other hand, the rookie wage scale arguably hurts RBs more than any other position, since backs tend to peak early in their careers.Ā

Mostly I am just glad to see dysfunction in Big D and hoping they pay Dak $30m/year.

The problem is it's not just two more years.Ā  They can franchise him for 2-3 more.Ā  Then he's 28-29 years old.Ā  Not every running back is Adrian Peterson.Ā  If I were him I wouldn't count on being the same player I am now when I'm 29.Ā  RB's get screwed in this system.Ā  I normally side with the owners but in this case I understand why Zeke wants a real contract now.

Don't be jealous.Ā  If you'd applied yourself more you could have been one of the best RB's in the NFL too.

No doubt and if he wants more money he should learn to hit homeruns or shoot 3 points.Ā

It is all part of the CBA the Players Union approved. Blame the Union not the owners.

Agreed.

Nobody made Zeke sign his $25m contract - and he sure and hell didn't seem disrespected or unappreciated when he cashed that $16m signing bonus check.

One can make the argument RBs get screwed under the current system - fair enuff. But that's a fight for another day. This is the biz and system Zeke chose to be in... And it's nobody's fault but his own that he's not rolling in $$ off endorsement deals - his own stupidity and childish behavior is on him.

I'm not blaming anyone.Ā  Just commenting on how it is based upon the current rules.Ā  I realize the players made their own bed.Ā  And the one option they have is to not show up and Zeke is availing himself of that option.Ā  Jerry doesn't have to budge.Ā  We'll see how good the Cowboys are without their best offensive weapon.

That’s a good point and you’re totally right. I think Zeke is a complete doosh but I can’t really blame him for trying to get paid while his value is at its highest. He is far more valuable to the Cowboys than Dak and he knows it.

Maybe 30 years ago. I'd argue kickers are more important in today's game than RBs. Look at New England - a white guy and some middle round picks.Ā

As a Cowboys fan, it wouldn't bother me if Zeke never suited up again.Ā  He's too much of knucklehead off the field and has already cost the team a great deal because of it.Ā  However, the Cowboys need to have a viable replacement right now in order to have a fighting chance.Ā Maybe they have that in Pollard, but who knows?

I'd hate to see another year wasted experimenting with RBs like they did when Murray left.Ā Ā

There are fewer NFL caliber kickers on the planet than their are running backs. There are running backs on the street right now that could be signed and rush for 1000 yards this year.Ā

Poor Opie, another year on the bubble with half a roster and with a QB that every fan secretly (or openly) wants to fail so they can get rid of him.Ā

Stop. There were 24 RBs drafted in 2019 and eleven of them went before the only placekicker to get drafted in Round 5. The league sure seems to value RB more than kicker.Ā

Pollard has looked fantastic - much to be excited about with him. I'd love to see him get a shot.

My only concern is pass protection - he's still pretty green there. I'm not sure how much they will trust him.

Hmm.Ā  Buncha no names behind him, so they probably won't trust them either.Ā  Maybe they could signĀ  FA to help.Ā  I don't know who's out there though.Ā Ā

Again, anotherĀ stupid comment. Kickers don't get hurt or age out quicklyĀ genius, and if they are good there is no need to replace them. Let their attrition rate be the same as a rb's and they would start getting drafted earlier.Ā
