We'll have to revisit the data once the millions upon millions of faulty test results are sorted out. Could be a while since we are still using them thru the end of the year. Will be quite a while before we know the true numbers, if ever.

Apologies if you’ve already answered this, but then how do you explain the ~500k more total deaths than expected in the span of a year?

Because here’s a proclamation for you: 2019 to 2020 had the largest year over year increase in total deaths since 1918.

I don’t take any joy in that.   I believe we all want the same thing here.  The pandemic to be over so we can get back to normal.  Except I actually want it to be over.  You guys just want to pretend it’s over (or worse, that it never existed to begin with).

Also just a reminder that if “millions and millions of tests were faulty” (they weren’t), that would mean 2 things, assuming you’re implying there were more false positives than false negatives, as mentioned the one that you linked about being revoked was revoked because of the risk for false negatives:

1.  We’re further from herd immunity than we thought

2.  The death rate of covid is higher than we thought.  Again, CDC counted both “with covid” deaths and deaths where “covid was the underlying cause” on the death certificate - 90-91% of “with covid” deaths also listed covid as the underlying cause, which accounts for all those motorcycle and gunshot deaths and then some.  And 2020 deaths of flu/pneumonia, diabetes, Alzheimer’s, heart disease, and stroke were all up vs 2019 (cancer flat as it’s been for years).  So it’s not like those ~350k deaths in 2020 where covid was the underlying cause would have just been other causes if not for covid.   If anything, covid deaths were undercounted.

There is some evidence of a small number of “lockdown deaths” as evidenced by the 19k increase in unintentional injuries which includes drug overdoses, but it pales in comparison to covid deaths (not to mention suicides actually declined).

Sure. I think people should, by and large, take the vaccine. And I did.

But here's the thing... pretty much everyone I know who took it (the China one) wasn't worried about covid at all. We did it to get our focking lives back. For two years, we have been told “two weeks to flatten the curve!” and “take the vaccine so we can get to herd immunity and get back to normal!”

But it hasn't happened yet in a year and a half and won't for the next year.

Bottom line... people are sick of being lied to. Not just this issue. Our government tells us what they want to hear, and does whatever they want behind the scenes.

It is not surprising to me in the least that people don't trust it. Why the hell should they?

The narrative that unvaccinated people are the issue with covid still spreading is obviously not true.  With the amount of people vaccinated along with those that previously had covid, the spread among the unvaccinated should eventually peter out.  

The vaccinated are obviously still spreading covid.  Their cases are just not as severe.  That's why I don't know why people care about the unvaxed at this point.  If people are willing to risk it, who cares?

I'm not a scientist, but I know bacteria and viruses are different (hence why if anything, masks would be more likely to spread bacteria than covid but I digress), but aren't the "aerosols" in question basically the same?   I thought the study (from 2001) seemed to be claiming that the clothes must have at least partially blocked the aerosols (which carried the bacteria), similar to the claim that masks at least partially block "droplets" which carry the virus.

You must not follow Ethical Skeptic (I don't either but I check him out occasionally).  I thought you'd have been able to guess by his name that he is a bit of a covid skeptic, so I wasn't just parroting a narrative.  As mentioned, I believe one of his main theories is that covid has been around since 2018 which is why he thinks countries such as South Korea and I believe even the rest of China other than Wuhan didn't fare as badly.   I think he's also claimed that he thinks the flu shot from 2018-2019 (which followed a worse than normal flu season in 2017-2018) is causing more covid deaths.
