Baker wins again! I will ask once more:

What has Trump done wrong? He has spoken on this daily,  you aren’t paying attention.

What should he have done differently? What would the ramifications be?

Observer, newbie whoever is hilarious.  Hes not even Monday morning quarterbacking. Hes judging while the QB is dropping back.

Troll on my man.

Another perfect example of me posting about the thread subject and a half-dozen members getting frustrated because they have no legitimate counter argument so they start personal attacks. Just another day at the park. 😄

I think his point is that there is a global crisis going on. One that Trump refuses to address seriously because he's scared that  drop in the market might reflect poorly on his approval ratings. He's dragged his feet on addressing this when any other president would have had a dedicated task force in place a month or two ago. But he has time to retweet a fart video and go golfing. It's rare that having a childish idiot as our president makes much difference in our actual day to day lives, but when a serious incident arises where it actually does matter, it would be real nice to have an actual leader in place and not a childish self-serving moron.

There is a difference between frustration and people just thinking youre a moron. You tried to take 2 random quotes and call them facts to try to say that hes not taking it serious enough.

I'm sorry that you failed miserably at this and got called out for it.

Poor observer...getting pounded for saying stupid things.

Look sweetie if you want to run for the hills about a virus not even as deadly as the flu you certainly can.

But sorry taking 2 quotations in trying to put them together as fact is pretty pathetic. I admire your effort though in a losing cause.

Very curious to see if this plays out with his health departments like it did with his intelligence departments.  He obviously has an agenda he wants to push concerning this virus. Downplay it. Fool Americans into thinking they have nothing to worry about. He knows that the strong economic numbers are the only thing helping his chances to get reelected. The CDC is trying to get ahead of this and warn our citizens about what could lie ahead. That is a major conflict. Will he be sending the signal to all CDC members that loyalty to him is more important than the people's health? Are they going to have to choose?  Like our intelligence personnel does? Will heads of departments lose their job if they tell the truth?  How about ones that thought they were doing their job and already did?

Get yer popcorn ready.

I am curious, if the economic numbers were to fall and it was directly linked to the Coronavirus, how could this be blamed on Trump?

Great point,  last I head those great economic numbers were the direct result of Obama, therefore wouldn't he own their decline too ?

It doesn't really matter if it was his fault or not.  If the economy is in the toilet come November it will hurt him at the polls.  I'm not sure he would lose because of it but It won't help him.  He has hung his entire presidency on the economy and unemployment rate.  If those both go south then it won't bode well for him imo.

It wouldn't be Trump's fault. Much of the economy has nothing to do with the President. He inherited 7 straight years of economic growth and has kept it going at essentially the exact same pace. But he tries promoting the lie that he turned around a bad economy. Trump has never had a single day in office with an approval rating over 50%. No one  has ever been that bad.  And that's with a great economy.  Trump knows he can't survive without that great economy. He has done more to artificially prop it up than any president in history. Because his life depends on it. Possibly literally. He could well be indicted by the SDNY if he becomes a regular citizen in January.  He needs to lie to the people to try to keep consumer bliss going. And the market from crashing. Even though the crash would be just like most of the success- nothing to do with him- those numbers are all he has to run on.

True, but there were a lot of Democrats who never in a million years thought Trump could win.  I'm not too sure that Bernie can't do the same.

This is where I think Links come in handy. Sure one side or the other may claim it is from a bad source or one that supports their narrative, but at least it is not just some random quote stated as "fact".

There are 7 polls who are considered legimate offerings of presidential approval. Economist/YouGov, Rasmussen, Rueters, Politico, Emerson, ABC News, NBC News

Out of the 7, Rasmussen is the only one showing a 50% approval.  The highest among the others is 48% with the lowest being 43%.

Rasmussen is widely criticized because its results largely comes from land line phones. Yes, old people. I'm actually surprised his approval isn't much higher with the land line folks.

Also, in the 2018 election, Rasmussen predicted that Republicans would win the general ballot by 1%.  They actually LOST by 9%.  The ten point discrepancy was the largest polling error of all the firms.

Not that I blame you for choosing Rasmussen. I would too if I were you.

Former White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs:

"Today is the necessary time to use the White House Press Briefing room. PLEASE bring out the public health experts. Walk the nation through the response, step by step. What comes next and what Americans should be doing to prepare and assist in that. We need to hear it. PLEASE"

Hard to arrange when the White House needs to worry about angering Donald because he wants to lie and say it's all under control.
