Wow! That would nice to own.

I can only say I own the Crown Jewels Collection, the box pictured here has the first 8 cd's of the band in sleeves with the original album artwork.

Nice!  I did pull the trigger on that vinyl box set.  I'm really looking forward to listening to all of the albums.  Other than The Game, I've probably not really heard any of Queen's other albums in their entirety.  Maybe "News of the World."  We got a turntable at Xmas and have been building up a record collection since so this will be a great addition.  Queen was so amazing due to their ability to change styles but still make music that is uniquely Queen and enjoyable.  And thanks for starting this thread.

He also remixed a bunch of Yes as well.

Here's an interesting article describing the process:

I love that first line, "The equivalent of polishing the Sistine Chapel, that's what I feel I'm doing sometimes with these classic records."

I went back and forth between two albums by this band on today's addition but Rush-A Farewell To Kings slightly nudges 2112.As a young man I was very much into literature and creative writing so one day in high school English Lit class we had to read a poem called Kubla Kahn by Samuel Taylor Cooleridge,it was then I made the connection with Rush's song Xanadu and I began to read more on Peart and his love for literature as well.I remember our teacher let me bring the album to class to play the song but he took it off before the lyrics even started.

Dixie Chicks - Wide Open Spaces

This first album with Maines as the lead singer and their next two albums were pretty damn good...  Not a fan of country music at all, but went to a concert with my wife who really wanted to see them, it was a damn good show...

Wow, you actually did something that someone else posted?

i agree, those albums are fantastic.  Actually, after wide open spaces, they haven’t had a bad one.  I saw them a couple of years back and they are still really good live.

They have a new album coming out this year sometime...  It is called "Gaslighter" and was to come out May 1, but that has been delayed...

I won't go out of my way to buy their stuff or listen to their stuff, but if it comes on the radio, I usually listen...

Heard the new single (also called gaslighter) and its pretty solid.  They are one of the few bands for me that i haven’t really heard a bad song.  I will definitely go out of my way to listen to them.

Hi guys. I'm new here. 😏

My top ten most influential albums...

1. Automatic for the people, R.E.M.

I asked for my first CD player back in the Christmas of 1992. My mom grabbed a couple of random cds from the best seller list at the time. Ended up becoming my favorite band for a decade. Bought 14 or so of their albums. Back in those days, you had to find them first, which was part of the fun.

2. Crash, Dave Matthews band. Came out the first summer I had a car. I played the ever living hell out of it.

3. Dulcinea, by toad the wet sprocket

4. Stunt, by barenaked ladies. Came out my senior year, good memories.

5. The black album, Metallica. Was never much of a metal head, but dabbles a bit. Loved this one.

6. Nevermind, nirvana. It's cliche now, but when that dropped in 91 (I was 11) it blew us away. Was just so new. And angry. Being spoiled little pre teen focks, we liked angry.

7. White ladder, David Gray

8. August and everything after - counting crows. One of the top 5 albums of the 90s.

9. Bob marley, legend.

10. Fleetwood Mac, rumors

11. The Beatles anthology. Blew us away in high school.

(as an aside, I am in no way trying to say these are the best albums. Just ones that hit me in the right place in life. I did not get into the classics much until I was older.)

Grew up on a small family farm, my grandfather made a radio for me when I was about 5 and I listened to it for hours.....mostly 60's and 70's, later would get a record player and had albums from the Beatles, The Who, Pink Floyd, Kizz, Sabbath but also the Bee Gee's, three dog night, sam smith, otis redding, miles davis

Eventually we managed to get above the poverty line through hard ass work, and my parents bought me a "game" called a 2XL which was essentially an 8 track player, so I started getting some of those.....Iron Butterfly, Foghat, Meatloaf, ELO, New York Dolls, Bowie

I stayed pretty close to those old songs through the 80's, was selective about my music through those years but spread it to ever genre from the Cure and Smiths to Black Uru, Picies, Fugazi, Decendents, Marley and on and on

Maneater
She'll only come out at night
The lean and hungry type
Nothing is new, I've seen her here before
Watching and waiting
Ooh, she's sitting with you but her eyes are on the door
So many have paid to see
What you think you're getting for free
The woman is wild, a she-cat tamed by the purr of a Jaguar
Money's the matter
If you're in it for love
You ain't gonna get too far
Watch out boy she'll chew you up
(Oh here she comes)
She's a maneater
(Oh here she comes)
Watch out boy she'll chew you up
(Oh here she comes)
She's a maneater
I wouldn't if I were you
I know what she can do
She's deadly man, she could really rip your world apart
Mind over matter
Ooh, the beauty is there but a beast is in the heart
Watch out boy she'll chew you up
(Oh here she comes)
She's a maneater
