He has several prestigious degrees.

This is at a time where segregation was real.  Unlike today, where the only people wanting to segregate are some blacks.

Pretty much it. Funny thing is, when he talks about the issue of black culture he points out that it really emanates from black people in the south being along side poor whites and adapting to that culture. Then when the great migration occurred they brought it up north.
