Fireballer 2,382 Posted September 24, 2020 We cant keep the lights on, but we are gonna ban fossil fuel cars. So, for the electric cars, we just gonna shovel more coal into the coal burning power plants?

The lights in California will be powered via wind, and solar, and hydro, and Disney magic. And there should be enough energy to go around for every one since they are also projecting that almost nobody will be living in California in ten years. Brad GLuckman 518 Posted September 24, 2020 So this just be bans the sale of new gas vehicles. I really hope costs come down for electric vehicles in the next 15 years, which they should. Are there plans to be able to provide power to all these vehicles since California is already dealing with rolling blackouts? They didn't even address this. Surely there's a plan... TimmySmith 2,782 Posted September 24, 2020 California is mostly powered and watered from out of state sources. He is counting on great strides in electric technology.
Tree of Knowledge 835 Posted September 24, 2020 Better improve the range on those electric cars.

Nestle has some major bottling factories there. Nestle is paid up good with the democrat party, so that even during that horrific drought California experienced a couple years ago, Nestle was allowed to continue shipping all of that water to other states while residents were forced to cut back on water usage. The media refused to criticize Nestle as well since they were paid up with the democrats. Total corruption.
Bill E. 666 Posted September 24, 2020 It is a BS feel good move for his crazy base. He knows he will not be around in 2035 to see it repealed by whatever nut they elect next.

TBayXXXVII 2,117 Posted September 24, 2020 Nothing wrong with that objective. It's not to be in place until 2035. I just doubt it'll happen.

Typical progressive politics, "the world is headed that way so we should start now.." Then they use it to give public money to fake technology, who give much of it back as campaign contributions (remember Obama's fake green shady deals that no one talks about anymore). "Nothing wrong with the objective" is how they get into your pocket. And it starts as soon as the Gov signs the paper, not in 2035.

Of course, that's what's going to happen, but I don't have a problem with the "idea". I think every state, even at the federal level, this objective should be targeted. That said, like you, the money will not go towards infrastructure... but to line the pockets of politicians. What will happen is that, like every other Democrat policy, they'll say that they need to push the deadline back and that they were short on money. They'll need to raise taxes. They'll push the date back 10 years... then when that 10 years is up, they'll say they need more money... raise taxes, and push the date back another 5 years, maybe 10. At that point, they'll hope that you've forgotten the bill and pretend it never happened. Then, when it does come up, they'll blame the Republicans.
supermike80 1,286 Posted September 24, 2020 Not banning used vehicles. Seems like an opportunity to make some serious bank if you have very well kept early 2030 gas powered vehicles.
Djgb13 2,338 Posted September 24, 2020 I just know Cali is going to be screwed if it does happen. Their next step would be banning gas stations. The rolling blackouts and they want to use even more electricity? Lol ok there bud. It’s gonna do nothing be send people away from there and then infect the rest of America with their BS

DexterM1776 79 Posted September 24, 2020 I always think it's a great idea for the government to get in the way of capalism. It never goes wrong and everyone especially poor people are always better off
Utilit99 4,099 Posted September 24, 2020 14 minutes ago, Dizkneelande said: Dems are awesome at make poor people poorer Maybe California can raise it's state income tax from the lowest group being assessed 7.25% and the highest being 12.3% to let's say.....14.5% and 24.6%. This way, the governor and his political cohorts can still keep their salaries and benefits as they are with an expected bump in pay every year.

The thing is, they won't, and everyone knows it but the Dems don't care. Moral high ground is all that's important... actual results don't matter.
