First off, the year isn't over, secondly, wait til next year and let's see what happens. Because you won't be chiming in when it goes up 30% again. Lori Lightfoot is an abomination of a mayor in that city. The crime has fully infiltrated the downtown area now to the point where they needed to put curfews on popular visiting sites. Jack it up to its highest level in 25 years and then claim victory with a reduction. You people are ridiculous. Why don’t you tell us how gas prices are down from their record high as well? Also, when did this become about Chicago? Chicago is a crime infested shithole and people and businesses are leaving because of it. It’s going to take a lot bigger reduction to change that. Strike 5,553 Posted October 24, 2022 Jesus Focking Christ. Some of you people sound like Biden when gas prices came down to "only" $4/gallon after being up at $5. His policies made gas rise from like $2.50 to $5.00 but then he claimed victory when prices came down to $4, even though it was still $1.50 more than before he touched it. FFS. Masshole 642 Posted October 24, 2022 Wait - let me get this straight. So there was a pandemic and there was a "defund the police/BLM" movement that happened at basically the same time. Then crime and murders went up after that. And there's people, with a straight face and mimicking sincerity, who say the increase in crime and murders were because of the pandemic and not the "defund the police/BLM" movement?????? Is this a prank or just trolling? I mean, this can't be serious, right?

I’ve posted links to that in here at least twice when proving HT wrong Yes states are bigger. Using your logic we shouldn't do states then. Let's do the entire country. No, let's just do the entire planet and be done with it. That sounds stupid, doesn't it? Now you know how you sound. The REASON I told you to do cities is that this issue is fairly isolated to blue areas, and cities are the appropriate sized entity for evaluating that data. Even in red states there are blue cities, and in some cases those blue cities contain a significant portion of the population of that state. That is WHY you should focus on cities. If you don't want to show your work, that's fine. I understand why you wouldn't want to. I'd just own you again.

Violent crime in Wyoming has increased by 10% over the past 2 years, with 9% of that gain happening in the last year. Wyoming's violent crime rate is 43% lower than the national level.
