Those were temporary jobs, and workers are in high demand right now, and that pipeline would have put a hurt on the hard-working truckers and all the hard-working people from whom their dollars benefit, such as restaurants and truck stops. But people like you whine about gas prices, whom hard-working oilfield workers depend on to stay employed. Such a cesspool of ignorance and blind loyalty around here. Congrats!

So oilfield workers get a bigger slice of the pie if the price of oil goes up? Why? Do they get it out of the ground more efficiently? I don’t have an MBA or anything, but you don’t seem to know much about economics. Not even a little bit.

Are you really this obtuse? Gas prices are intimately tied to supply and demand, the bedrock of economics. Demand dropped last year for obvious reasons and has picked up for obvious reasons, thus low prices last year and higher ones this year. Oil prices have to be worth companies' cost of doing business to produce. If it ain't, they stop drilling and production and lay off employees. How could not understand this?
