Rain appears to be tapering off by kickoff and wind is 2 mph.

I expect the Jets to grind the ball on the ground today to keep Allen and Diggs off the field as much as possible .

One would have to think had Aaron Rodgers not ruptured his vajeen, we would have cashed both of these. Oh well.

Week 1:   11-7

I was -1 unit over the weekend.  Bet more than I should have as I was excited for NFL week 1.  Could have been worse if my son hadn't told me to bet Diggs for first TD last night.  +950

Bet MGM has a pick your parlay. Cousins and hurts to score anytime plus the eagles money line is +2500. That seems like easy money to me.

See anything? Was thinking Rams +8, Seahawks +3, Chiefs -3.5

But Seahawks OL is wreaked.

Cincinnati -3

I like Minnesota if you can still get 7.5.

I noticed Seattle and will likely take them. Just a little gun shy with them coming East and playing a 1:00 kickoff

Seattles two tackles they will be throwing out there Sunday have a combined whopping total 6 starts, assuming they dont start 41 yo Jason Peter's who they just signed. If any of those get hurt they'll be playing with practise squad scrapings.

cousins and hurts  anytime TD? throws don't count so youd be really hoping for a random kirk rushing td.

That is straight up bullshitt. Nowhere did it say passes were not part of the scoring. All it said was to score a td.

you can check the terms of the wager but usually "to score anytime" means a rushing/receiving TD.   I doubt BetMGM would offer a parlay that basically amounts to the Eagles ML at +2500

Under Bettors Won Big

A common belief is that NFL teams, especially now with a shortened preseason, are rusty on offense to start the season. If you share this theory and heavily bet the under on game totals yesterday, then you won a lot of money. Through the 15 games played so far this week, unders are 11-4.

I've been seeing these no sweat bets. Do they mean if you don't win they give you a credit for the amount you put down?

Yes.  Up to $5.  I played them just about every weekend last year.

Only if you have no idea what you're doing, or don't understand the game of American football.

That's cool.  At DK "no sweat" means you get a free bet for the same amount.  So if you bet $5 and lose, you get a bonus bet of $5 to use in seven days.  I've never used one successfully yet, so what I'm wondering is if you win the bonus bet, do you only get the money won, or do you get the stake plus the money won?
For example, if you put the $5 bonus bet on the Orioles ML to win let's say $2, do you get $2 credited to your account, or the full $7? 🤔

Sometimes they let you "cash out" before the event at a slight loss.  Could you do that?

You only get the $2.  Fanduel used to give you the full amount but they stopped that last year.

Ah fock, that's what I figured.  If you got the full amount, you'd make a very conservative bet (like a ML on a heavy favorite).  If you only get the "winnings", you're more likely to make a risky one. <_<

Funny because I have talked to a few other people who thought the same exact thing I did.

Why wouldn't you get the full $7?  I'm still placing a $5 wager of my money.

Edit:  Or is this just the bonus money from a previous bet?  I think I misread it.

Exactly.  I used to do that, make a risky bet, if you lose, take the free bet refund, bet on anything, and then immediately cash out, get your money back.  They stopped that, so then I would just bet a sure thing like team +35, then get the money back, then they stopped that so you only get the winnings.  Now I take the free bet and throw it on a parlay where the odds are north of +500 to make it worthwhile.

It's not your money, it's just a bonus bet, it's their money that they are letting you bet with.

Which you lost.  They are giving you a new 5 or 10 dollar "free bet". The free bet is not your money.  It is a credit.

Fanduel did not do that last year either. I can't speak for prior to 2022.

Free bets you obtain and then win with will credit your account the winnings, not including the initial stake amount.

Fanduel has ones up to $25. Sometimes, your max will be tailored to your account, from what I have heard.

DK used to tailor their offers too. I remember when they would offer very easy NFL wagers. One thanksgiving was Lamar Jackson to complete a pass at even money. My max wager was $50 and when I told my father to opt into the promo his max was $10.
