the grain shipped out of Ukraine traditionally went to africa and the middle east.  Russia accepted a grain deal with Ukraine to allow them to continue shipping so that region didnt turn against Russia.  But NATO started smuggling in weapons on those ships, and NATO also started buying up all the grain and storing it for WW3.  So Russia ended the grain deal and bombed Ukraines ports.  To make it sting less for african countries, Putin forgave african debt held by Russia.

Ukraine is starting a heavy bombardment of Moscow.   This is very bad.  Imagine if Mexico kept buying drones, bombs and equipment from France and then Mexico kept bombing Washington DC with them.  The American people would demand that the US nuke Paris.  That is what this is like for Russians.  The Russian people blame the US for these bombings of Moscow and demand Putin nuke the US.   He is holding back.  Ukraine is losing this war, but if they keep bombing Moscow, it is possible the Russian people oust Putin and install a new leader willing to nuke DC, which pulls NATO into the war and maybe Ukraine can win.  Its all utterly insane.

So let me get this straight: Biden puts a ban on buying gas from Russia, but doesn’t put a ban on buying unrefined oil from them. So other countries buy their unrefined oil and refine it into gas and then we buy that gas.  Brilliant.

there are 2 types of oil:  light sweet crude and heavy sour crude.  The US produces heavy sour oil, but US refineries mostly refine light sweet oil.  That means we cannot refine our own oil.  Democrats for decades blocked the construction of new refineries in the US which means we must buy our refined oil from abroad, so we rely on Russia.  India is selling refined oil but may cut us off at any time which would crush our economy.

Apparently, Russia has become very proficient at stopping Ukrainian drones.  the Ukrainian offensive near Robotyne was relying on drones but now that it has been taken off the table, Russia has re-liberated a ton of land in that area, pushing Ukraine way back.  Ukraine lost a ton of men and equipment in that push and now its all for nothing.

A relatively new term in this battle is "electronic warfare" or "EW".  That refers to GPS-guided drones and truck mounted jamming systems designed to disrupt their GPS.  Estimates are that Russia is now destroying up to 10,000 Ukrainian drones per month via EW warfare.

We actually stepped up importing heavy crude to refine here. 

A refinery can adapt and handle multiple kinds of crude. 

Remember all that whining about the pipeline? That was to ship nasty tar sands oil to the Gulf, where refineries there can handle it before the refined product got exported to other countries.

You don't know chit about oil and refineries and just make up crap to fit your paradigm.

I verified this a long time ago. The Russians created a defensive network of mines, trenches and artillery, and it's nothing like any military has faced in the past 80 years, according to some retired general who was interviewed. 

Ukraine doesn't have the air support to unleash a well-coordinated offensive, and the defenses are much more formidable than imagined.

So of course they're going to change tactics. 

Fresh off kicking ass on D Day, the Allies got frisky and launched Operation Market Garden, history's biggest airborne operation, which failed because they couldn't get to the last bridge, and the Germans overwhelmed them. It was a massive fail.

Slower-than-expected progress and changing tactics just comes with war.
